I Haven’t Shopped at Zara in Months—Now I Have These 11 Items on Order

For reasons I'll go into, I just haven't shopped at Zara in a while. However, after looking at the brand's new high summer collection, I just couldn't help myself. Here are the pieces I have on order.

Zara has always been one of my favourite high street brands. Like many of its counterparts, Zara boasts several different aesthetics under one roof in an attempt to appeal to as many people and tastes as possible. Me? I've always been more aligned with its more minimalist items; well-cut tailoring, sleek dresses, simple shoes and leather bags. Ultimately pieces that aren't as trend reliant. However, lately, I've found that Zara has been focusing its energy on other departments with bolder prints and colour palettes. There's nothing wrong with this, of course, but let's just say I haven't been compelled to buy anything from Zara in a minute because of this.

That all changed, however, when I saw Zara's new-in high-summer collection, which is one of the chicest I've ever seen the brand (or any other affordable retailer for that matter) produce. As if speaking direct to me and my fashion sensibilities, Zara's taken a timeless turn with its latest drop of, well, everything you need to see out the summer months in very elegant style.

From matching sets that look like they've walked off the runway (yes, they're that sophisticated looking) to blouses with the most beautiful lace detailing, what strikes me most is just how considered every item seems to be. Longevity and breaking the trend cycle seems to be at the heart of this collection—of course there are pieces that feel timely but they're the sort that, if you love them now, then I know you'll still love them in future seasons to come—which I appreciate greatly. These pieces might be more affordable than others out there but that doesn't mean their lifespan should be any shorter.

So impressed have I been that I've now ordered 11 pieces in total. Some I had to return and exchange but only because of the fact I'm currently six months pregnant and simply can't justify keeping on ice until next year, but I was still very impressed by them. Really, however, 11 was me being disciplined—there's so much more that caught my eye.

Below, browse the pieces I actually had delivered, which I also have a feeling will sell out especially fast, then continue on to shop other Zara high-summer items that I was also impressed by.
