Love Actually

The ultimate holiday movie by pretty much any standard, 2003's Love Actually is a must-watch as soon as the holiday season starts. And if you haven't ever seen it, please stop whatever you're doing and queue it up now.

The Holiday

Another fashion-girl favorite, The Holiday is a quirky comedy filled with an adorable budding romance between the characters portrayed by Jude Law and Cameron Diaz. The movie lets you fantasize about what might happen if you finally took a vacation and, in the process, swapped houses with another person across the world. (Think: Airbnb on steroids.)

It's a Wonderful Life

This 1946 film is often considered the ultimate Christmas classic. Star Jimmy Stewart's character, George, is contemplating suicide when an angel appears to show him what life would have been like if he never existed. Make sure your tissue box is handy when you watch this one!

Miracle on 34th Street

This 1994 remake of a classic Christmas movie will bring you back to what it was like being a child during the most wonderful time of the year. The little girl, played by precocious child actor Elizabeth Perkins, has to prove that a man claiming to be Kris Kringle is actually the real deal.

If you feel like having many legit LOL moments, Elf is your holiday movie of choice. Will Ferrell plays a grown-up elf who left the North Pole to find his real father in New York City. Hijinx, of course, ensue. Plus, style star Zooey Deschanel performs a stunning rendition of "Baby It's Cold Outside" that you can't miss!

A Christmas Story

This 1983 movie was a nearly instant cult classic. It's that movie they always play on repeat for 24 straight hours on Christmas Day on TBS; and if you haven't taken the time to watch it yet, do. It's iconic!

Home Alone

Somehow it doesn't really feel like Christmas until you watch Kevin McCallister give two basic crooks a run for their money when they try to break into his house. You'll never look at ornaments the same way after this classic.
