In our Ask a Stylist series, we're tapping a new expert each month to weigh in with their style insights. Return for a professional's perspective on what to know in fashion.

Erin Walsh, named one of the most powerful stylists in Hollywood by The Hollywood Reporter, is the talent behind many best-dressed celebrities on the red carpet, including Anne Hathaway. Walsh has been instrumental in Hathaway's style transformation over the past year, propelling the actress into a fashion realm that exudes glamour and cool sexiness, often causing a stir online. "Annie and I have a lot of fun," says Walsh. "I think it works so well because we listen to each other and pay attention to how things resonate. We both enjoy using fashion to tell stories and bring joy, power, and fun to the table."

Eager to delve further into fashion with this powerhouse stylist, I asked Walsh to share the top summer trends to know this season. One of the key areas Walsh is focused on is sunglasses. As a style ambassador for the eyewear brand Silhouette, Walsh has a close relationship with the brand and emphasizes the impact of accessorizing in elevating one's style. "I'm all about taking it up a notch with accessories," Walsh says. "I appreciate the thoughtful minimalist design and the lightweight, flexible feel of Silhouette sunglasses. They don't hinder the process of getting ready or styling; instead, they make things easier, lighter, and cooler. I find that style which feels effortlessly pulled together usually works best." Read on to discover more about stylist Erin Walsh's fashion recommendations and the top summer trends to shop for this season.

Unexpected Sunglasses

"I think you will see a lot more in the way of very translucent and pale and colored lenses and styles that allow people to push the envelope while still feeling super comfortable. That’s where Silhouette is really paving the way; their designs are timeless while also feeling unexpected, and the frames are so comfortable you forget you have anything on!"

Skirt Suits

"Skirt suits! I am obsessed with this. Mini skirt and cropped jacket. It feels very Jane Birkin meets working girls meets Barbie at the beach. I love that it's feminine but also business."

Baggy Jeans

"Love these when paired with proportionally friendly options. Love a baggy cargo as well, typically high-waisted. I love options from Frankie Shop and Khaite."

Yacht Style

"I live for this trend. Think '80s preppy on a boat. Sporty and Rich Princess Diana vibes mixed with Swedish minimalism like Toteme. Super fun and always looks like you are ahead of the game."

Deconstruction

"I was reminded of the power of deconstructed bits from designers like Sacai on a recent trip to Japan. It adds an interesting note of 'out there' but still with it to an outfit."
