I Tried This TikTok-Viral Product and It Gave Me Dewy Skin I'd Always Dreamt Of
If you've read any of my articles, then you know that I am desperate to get that dewy skin look. I've tested every product under the sun, from the Drunk Elephant B-Goldi Bright Drops to the Rose Inc Luminous Tinted Serum and more. While I'm a big fan of all of these options, that doesn't stop me from trying more and more glowy base products to get that "glass skin" look.
Believe it or not, while on my makeup quest, there was one TikTok-viral product that I was yet to get my hands on. Until now, that is. This particular product went viral back in 2022, with content creators and beauty editors alike raving about the glow-inducing formula. If you're wondering what I'm talking about, it's none other than the Saie Glowy Super Gel.
This multi-use, lightweight highlighter caused quite a stir on the app, and the before and afters were enough to have everyone I know running to get their hands on it. I definitely missed out on the hype, so I thought it was only right I made up for lost time and did a full review on the product that has finally delivered the dewy skin of my dreams. Saie Glowy Super Gel Review
The Formula
I want to start by talking about the formula. The product is made up of 75% water, so you can already imagine how lightweight and hydrating it feels on the skin. It also includes vitamin C to help add even more radiance. Impressive, right? There are currently two shades on offer, Starglow and Sunglow, but I would personally love to see some more shades from the brand.
The great thing about this formula is that it can be used in so many different ways. You can either apply it under your makeup for a "lit-from-within" glow, you can mix it with your makeup or moisturiser for added luminosity or you could even apply it on top of your foundation for a beautifully shiny effect.
The Application
Much like the multi-use formula, there are also multiple ways to apply this product. I personally like to mix it with my foundation and then also add a little bit to the high points of my face such as my cheekbones.
I put one or two pumps on the back of my hand alongside my foundation, and use the Saie Base Brush to apply this to my face. Then, once my makeup is done, I use my fingertips to dab a small amount onto my cheekbones. A little goes a long way, so don't feel like you have to apply a large amount to the skin.
Oh, and a top tip for summer? Mix this in with your body lotion for the most beautiful, glowy finish.
The Result
As you can see above, this product gave me a naturally dewy finish that lasted all day long.
The Verdict
Okay, so, would I recommend Saie Glowy Super Gel? In short, yes. This product is perfect for those who like that naturally glowy look. It's definitely not super-obvious on the skin like a pigmented, powdered highlighter might be, but in my opinion, that's what makes it so good. The lightweight formula means that no one would even know that you were wearing highlighter. Instead, they would probably just assume that you have naturally luminous skin.
That being said, I do think it's a little too subtle to wear under foundation, and I would always choose to mix it into my foundation instead. When I wore it under my makeup I felt like you couldn't really see it on the skin, but it's great for mixing with products and using on top of your base makeup.
One thing I was really impressed by was the size of the bottle. For £22 you get a lot of product, and I can see this lasting me for quite a while. All in all, I can totally see why this product got so much hype, and I will be reaching for it daily throughout the spring and summer months.
