We've Tried Every Single Product From Rare Beauty—12 Standouts We'd Buy Again
Weirdly enough, it took me a while before I got around to trying Selena Gomez's hero brand, Rare Beauty. I really don't have an excuse. I was simply sleeping on a major gem until fate intervened and our team of editors decided to collectively try on the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. It was then that I truly fell in love. After that, I knew I needed to give the rest of the brand's roster of products a go ASAP.
The thing is, Rare Beauty doesn't just make really good makeup. Gomez made sure that the brand is moving the conversation forward in a positive way when it comes to our ideas about beauty. It breaks down unrealistic beauty standards and encourages any and all who wear it to embrace their individuality. And that's not all. Gomez also launched Rare Impact and the Rare Impact Fund alongside the brand to help connect people to resources that support their mental health. She also aims to bring more mental health services to educational settings to so people feel more supported from a younger age.
Basically, Rare Beauty does it all, and I'm more than happy to report that the products are also loved dearly by our editors. Now that I've fully talked up the brand, keep scrolling for the Rare Beauty review to end all reviews. We've called out our absolute must-have products from the brand below.
"I've always been a powder blush gal, but when we got the chance to try Rare Beauty's Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, I was really excited because I'd heard such rave reviews. Let me tell you, it lived up to the hype and I might be a liquid blush convert now—but only for this one. The color payoff is phenomenal—just a couple of dots is all you need for a nice, natural flush. Trust me, I was a little too heavy-handed the first time I tried it, and looked clown-like. I love that it blends so easily and leaves a nice, sort of dewy (but not too shiny) finish."—Sarah Yang, Managing Editor, THE/THIRTY
I'll admit that I'm usually cautious when using liquid eye shadows because they can almost pack a bit too much of a punch if you over apply the product. But this gem from Rare Beauty applies just like the liquid blush—easily, smooth, and with just the right amount of pigment.
I've been struggling with dry skin lately, and I've found that this primer blends so nicely with a face oil. My skin feels so hydrated after I put it on and it creates a gorgeous, glowy base. It has a water-based gel consistency that just soaks right into your skin fast so you can go right in with your foundation.
"I really love how creamy and pigmented the matte cream lipsticks are. They're matte but don't feel drying or uncomfortable, and the pigment level is just out of this world. My favorite shade is Inspire, which is also Selena's go-to!"—Katie Berohn, Associate Beauty Editor
"This feather-light brightening concealer is an underrated best-seller you definitely need in your repertoire. It never cakes or creases for me, and even though it is mega-brightening and offers satisfying coverage, it's surprisingly lightweight. Highly recommend."—Erin Jahns, Senior Beauty Editor
"This foundation is so serum-like and lovely, and it has zero pore-clogging oils! (Something that's super important to me as someone who's acne-prone). Layering this foundation with the concealer, blush, and highlighter has been getting me so many compliments."—Jahns
I feel like Rare Beauty's eye shadow palettes don't get enough love. This Discovery Palette is really chic, easy to wear, and has shades that are really rich and buttery. I love that it has some warmer neutral colors along with a few brighter shades to spice things up.
Honestly, I didn't know I needed a waterproof brow putty in my life until I tried this one. The angle brush included is absolutely everything and the fact that it's waterproof means it truly doesn't budge. I'm someone who really needs that because my makeup tends to get a bit oily throughout the day and smears off a bit.
"I love liquid highlighters, but so many can be way too aggressive—I'm not trying to look like a reflective disco ball! (At least not usually.) This one looks like a second skin and comes in an array of colors so you have the most flattering, and natural-looking glow imaginable."—Jahns
This is one of Rare Beauty's newer offerings, and it doesn't disappoint. This lipstick creates a soft matte finish but also really hydrates your lips with ingredients like sunflower oil. It's also airy, comfortable, and stays on pretty well throughout the day.
This bronzing stick is so good that it's frequently sold out. It creates an instant radiant glow in one swipe and blends so beautifully that it doesn't even look like you're wearing a bronzer at all. My personal favorite shade is Full of Life.
I tend to get oily around my eyelids, so sometimes that means I can have full-on raccoon eyes as the night goes on if I'm not careful. This mascara is great to combat that little problem because it absolutely doesn't smudge. It also adds some really nice length and volume that looks totally natural.
