Frizz, Flyaways, and Split Ends Are No Match for This One-of-a-Kind Styling Oil
I would like to say that I treat my hair really well, but in reality, I’m not sure if that’s necessarily true. Between recently dyeing it darker and heat styling it fairly regularly, I definitely put my hair through the wringer sometimes. I have really thick hair that’s prone to frizz and flyaways, and I’m always looking for products that keep it both healthy and under control.
Enter Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil. I’ll be honest. I’m not typically one for hair oils. In my experience, many oils leave my hair looking greasy instead of glossy. Olaplex’s oil, however, promises to be almost weightless and reparative to hair. "It’s formulated to dramatically increase the hair's overall shine, minimize frizz, and provide UV protection and thermal protection up to 450ºF,” says celebrity hair colorist Bianca Hillier. "This makes for the perfect addition to your routine if you regularly curl, flat-iron, or blow-dry style your hair. Plus, since it’s such a lightweight formula, you can even use this on your non-washing days.”
After talking to Hillier, I was immediately intrigued, and I knew I had to try the oil for myself. I've always been a fan of Olaplex products, so I had high hopes for the Bonding Oil, and I was not disappointed. As you can see below, left to its own devices, my hair is flyaway central, but the Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil made it smooth, bouncy, and shiny.
How to Use Olaplex Bonding Oil
Smooth this oil on before you plan to style your hair. "It can be used on wet or dry hair before styling," says Hillier. "Apply by tapping the bottom of the bottle upside down and dispersing a few drops to the palms of your hands and work through the hair. Focus mainly on the mids and tips. Distribute the remaining product through to the root area. Brush out to ensure the hair is evenly saturated."
Keep in mind that a little goes a long way. I have a lot of hair, but I would still only use about a dime-size amount of the oil from root to tip.
Try the Whole Olaplex Regimen
Think of this hair treatment as the first step to rebuilding bonds and strengthening hair. It can be used on its own, but it's really designed to be used with the Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector.
How to use: Apply to dry hair by fully saturating hair from root to tip. Let it sit for 10 minutes, and then apply the Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector, and let it sit for an additional 10 minutes before washing hair. Use one to three times per week.
Olaplex's Hair Perfector is the Olaplex No. 0 Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment's partner in crime. This innovative treatment strengthens and repairs damaged hair by penetrating the hair shaft.
How to use: Layer on top of the Olaplex No. 0 Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment and let sit for 10 minutes before washing out, or apply directly to towel-dried hair and leave on for at least 10 minutes. Use one to three times per week.
This shampoo is perfect for dry and damaged hair. It helps repair broken bonds in the hair and reduce breakage by strengthening.
How to use: Use as an everyday shampoo.
Olaplex's conditioner is a weightless conditioner that's deeply hydrating. It helps stop flyaways and frizz before you style your hair.

This styling cream is basically magic in a bottle. Not only does it strengthen and hydrate hair, but it also cuts down blow-drying time. Its smoothing effects last for 72 hours, so you can sleep on your style and wake up with hair that looks freshly groomed.
How to use: Smooth onto damp or dry hair before styling, concentrating on the middle of your hair to the ends. Comb through to ensure it's evenly distributed, and style as usual.
Blondes, rejoice—finally, a purple shampoo that doesn't leave your hair feeling straw-like. This toning shampoo helps brighten blonde hair and targets brassiness for color that looks like new.
How to use: Add this into your haircare routine as a shampoo as needed to tone down brassiness. Lather in and let it sit for one to three minutes to process, or if you want heavier-duty toning, leave it in for up to five minutes.
When Olaplex released its hair mask, the whole beauty community went wild, and for good reason. This multitasking mask repairs, smooths, adds shine and volume, and deeply hydrates and nourishes hair.
How to use: After washing hair, apply from mid-lengths to ends and leave on for at least 10 minutes before rinsing and styling as usual. Start with two pumps, and use more if your hair is thick or goes past your shoulders. Use weekly.
