My Summer Wardrobe Will Always Include These 2 Items
I'm a creature of habit, especially when it comes to getting dressed. Every summer, there are a few pieces I find myself reaching for on repeat. Having a handful of reliable staples makes getting dressed so much easier. For me, those staples are always dresses and denim. They're versatile, effortless, and somehow never fail to make me feel put-together. Gap is one of my favorite places to shop for both—the quality is great, the prices are even better, and the pieces always look far more expensive than they are. Keep scrolling to see my favorites.
Dresses
If there's one thing I'll never stop wearing in the summer, it's dresses. On hot days, when I can't be bothered to think too hard about an outfit, a dress is the answer every single time. I'm especially partial to maxi dresses because they're easy, comfortable, and perfect for spending long days running around the city. I'll wear a pair of bike shorts underneath on particularly sweaty days and finish the look with sneakers for a practical daytime outfit. The beauty of a dress is that it can be dressed up or down with almost no effort.
Denim
Denim may not be the first thing people associate with summer dressing, but I think it's one of the season's most underrated essentials. Instead of packing all of your denim away after spring, keep the lightweight styles that feel comfortable even on warmer days. Whether it's a pair of relaxed jeans for cooler evenings out to dinner with friends or Bermuda shorts for long weekends in the Hamptons, denim always adds a classic touch to an outfit.
