PSA: Your New Favorite Denim Destination Has Officially Arrived
Even though I spend an embarrassing amount of time online shopping, there's something about shopping IRL that just hits different. So when Mavi opened new storefronts close to NYC, I was there in, well, a New York minute. If you're not familiar with the brand, here's the rundown: Since 1991, Mavi has crafted premium denim at an accessible price point, offering countless styles that fit well and look effortless. Mavi has 11 stores slated to open across the country over the next few months, and they'll be filled with cult classics and the brand's latest arrivals.
Fashion content creator Nick Bailey joined me for a quick trip to Westchester to test-drive the women's and men's collections, and of course, Mavi delivered. We both left with jeans (and a few extras) we'll be wearing on repeat this season—and probably the next several, too. If you're looking to upgrade your denim drawer, visit a store near you to find your new favorite jeans.
I've been on an endless quest for the perfect straight-leg jean. Right when I was about to give up, I finally found the pair. The wash is just right, the fit is structured but flexible, and the price is surprisingly good. This is all proof that you don't have to drop hundreds to get denim that fits like a dream. I styled mine with a matching jean jacket to really lean into the brand's all-denim moment.
A good dark-wash jean is surprisingly hard to find—some washes skew too blue, others too black—but this pair from Mavi hits that perfect in-between. I styled mine with a rugby shirt (very on-trend, and Mavi's version is so good) and a pair of boots for a casual vibe. But if you were to swap in heels and a going-out top, you could create an entirely different look.
While I was in the store, I couldn't help but wander into the men's section to scout out gift ideas for my husband (and maybe do a little shopping for myself). And if you're an editor, you know the men's department is never off-limits. So, of course, I loved both of Bailey's looks. "I tried the Marcel Loose Straight Cut Jeans, and it's almost like these were made for me," he told me. He styled them with a cozy sweater—one I fully plan to borrow if I buy it for my husband—to create an easy everyday uniform.
"The Marcel Loose Straight Cut Jeans have the perfect rise—they're relaxed without being overly wide and just as comfortable as can be," Bailey explained. For this look, he styled them with a cool bomber jacket from Mavi that works just as well dressed up as it does down. "The options in the store for styling were endless," he added. But with a little help from the Mavi team, every piece came together perfectly.
