According to Editors, The Movado Museum Classic Watch Is the Only Fall Accessory You Need
One Swiss-made watch for every possible outfit.
Every fall, our editors go looking for an accessory versatile enough to complement every piece in your wardrobe. And this year, they landed on the Movado Museum Classic Watch. Its single-dot dial is simple enough to work under a cozy knit and striking enough to hold its own under a crisp shirt cuff or blazer. It's Swiss-made, comes in a clutch of iterations, and is classic enough to carry you through many seasons to come. Learn all about it below.
Its Minimalism Was an Intentional Design Choice
When modernist designer Nathan George Horwitt created the Museum dial in 1947, he purposefully left it uncluttered. It was inspired by a sundial, so instead of circling the watch with a dozen cluttered numerals, he added a single dot at 12 o'clock to represent the sun at high noon. Further proof that less is more, his dial earned a place in the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art, and it's been there since 1960.
It Carries 145 Years of Swiss Watchmaking History
Movado opened its first workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in 1881. Today, every Museum Classic timepiece is still Swiss-made and boasts a Swiss quartz movement and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. That persistent signature approach offers every buyer a silent guarantee: the design will remain relevant for years, and unlike the rest of your wardrobe, it doesn't need to change with the seasons.
Just One Watch Does the Job of an Entire Collection
Some people juggle entire watch collections, but this timepiece renders all that redundant, slipping effortlessly into every possible fall dress code. That's great news for both your bank balance and your time-pressed schedule.
It Works With Everything in Your Fall Wardrobe
The beauty of this watch is its built-in versatility. Choose a leather strap for a menswear feel, or a metal bracelet for jewelry-like shine. Whichever feels most like you, it will look as good with a tailored coat and boots as with a cocktail dress and heels, or even a cozy sweater and boots.
