Sharp Coats, Sculptural Trousers, and Autumn Hues—This F/W 25 Collection Is a Dream

Fashion month has officially come to a close, and as always, there was no shortage of inspiration on and off the runways. From New York City street style shots to the runways in Milan to Parisian fashion roundups on social media, every look I've seen makes me want to elevate my wardrobe. Max Mara's newly launched Fall/Winter collection, Untamed Heroine makes it easy to do just that. It celebrates a new era of romantic style and femininity with autumn hues, sharply cut coats, maxi skirts, sumptuous knits, and so much more. It's safe to say I'm swooning over just about every piece, but the coats are truly speaking to me.
This celebration of untamed femininity and resilience heavily inspired how we styled the hero items from the collection for you. We spent some time on the Upper East Side test-driving Max Mara's fall layers, and to no one's surprise, they did not disappoint. Max Mara does luxurious fabrics, intriguing color palettes, and bold silhouettes best, and we're sharing these pieces, along with some fashion tips to keep you inspired this season.

Yes, you should incorporate color into your fall/winter wardrobes, but I challenge you to take it a step further and play with textures, too. Creating an eye-catching look involves a combination of color, texture, and silhouette. We simultaneously focused on the raspberry hue, the A-line skirt, and a mix of cashmere, wool, and mohair. The cozy cashmere yarn turtleneck peeks out of the crewneck mohair knit sweater for a subtle yet effective layering effect. Anchoring the palette in those gorgeous cherry shades, we topped the look off with the extra-small Marine Bag and grabbed our go-to black wool coat. When it comes to timeless outerwear, this coat is the piece to invest in—you'll have it in your wardrobe for years to come. You may not notice it at first glance, but the pleats subtly cinch at the waist to create a beautiful sculptural shape. I could go on and on about why this coat is elite, but I think I'll let it speak for itself.

Remaining stylish in 30ºF weather is no easy feat, but we're relying on the power of this quilted coat and sleeveless Teddy Coat duo to get us through the low temperatures. The long-padded coat has a small V-neck line and soft nappa leather sleeves with a worn effect that makes layering seamless. Pro-tip: Add a belt for more dimension. When paired with the oversize alpaca and wool-blend sleeveless coat that cinches a bit at the waist, you not only have a head-turning outfit, but stylish armor. Contrary to popular belief, base layers still matter during the colder months. Luckily, Max Mara offers more than iconic coats and jackets. We styled this look with wide-leg denim that peeks out whenever you stride through the city, a classic navy turtleneck knit sweater for extra warmth, and square-toe ankle boots that feature a chic lace-up motif. This is the kind of outfit that garners compliments, questions, and stares (the good kind).

Is it just me, or is tweed one of the chicest fabrics out there? Posh fashion enthusiasts gravitate toward this fabric the second there's a chill in the air, and we understand exactly why. This wool tweed jacket features four patch pockets, adding just the right amount of edge to an otherwise delicate fabric. Did I mention the contrasting leather collar? It ties in perfectly with the leather gloves, which can elevate any winter look. This jacket may be the star of the show here, but the deep-moss monochromatic look beneath it is worth some commotion as well. Although it's concealed by the jacket, this ribbed peplum turtleneck sweater makes quite the statement once revealed. Sculptural trousers take center stage in this collection. These high-waisted wide-leg pants in particular contrast nicely with the tailored jacket, creating an interplay of structured and fluid silhouettes. This line is a capsule-wardrobe lover's dream. Every garment feels on-trend yet timeless, bold yet wearable, effortlessly elevating your style as we transition into cooler temps.
