I Just Tried the Jeans Every Chic Woman Is Wearing Right Now—Here's Why They're Worth the Hype
The Agolde Arc jeans are the best-selling pair of the moment. This denim-obsessed editor just put them to the test.
I don’t think I’m alone in my belief that denim is the hardest-working category in our wardrobes. It goes with just about anything, from pretty blouses in spring to light linens of summer to cosy cashmere wares of winter. Whether you’re heading out for a casual coffee date or trying the next restaurant on your carefully curated list, jeans can rise to any occasion with a few simple styling tricks. As someone who depends on jeans for most of the year, I like to keep an eye on the new arrivals, seeking out the standouts before they sell out. Right now, my attention is focused on the Agolde Arc Jeans.
Florrie wears the Agolde Arc Long Mid-Rise Wide-Leg Jeans (£330)
By now, many of us have secured our staple denim styles. We’ve hunted down the best wide-leg jeans and added the perfect straight-leg pair into our rotations, and whilst they can hold their own during the shifting seasons and moving trends, sometimes our favourites deserve a break. I’ve spent months switching between my most treasured pairs, and now I’m looking for a fresh pair to join the rotation. Something a little more contemporary, matching the ease of the spring months as well as feeling timeless enough to be a worthwhile investment. It didn’t take long to track down this pair, as so many of my most fashionable friends are wearing the Arc jeans right now.
Florrie wears the Agolde Arc 32" Wide-Leg Jeans (£325)
Agolde is known for its denim mastery. Numerous best-selling styles are attributed to the brand, from the beloved ‘90s pinch waist jeans (a personal favourite of mine) to the criss-cross jeans that sparked a fresh trend. Now, it’s the Arc jeans that have fashion people’s attention. The cut is a subtle take on the barrel-leg jean, with a soft arc silhouette that is relaxed by a wide-leg form. The pair has become such a bestseller that it comes in both mid-rise and high-rise options, as well as long and criss-cross variations.
It’s not only perfecting silhouettes that has cemented Agolde as a fashion favourite, but also the focus on fabrics. This pair is crafted from a non-stretch regenerative cotton denim, which is exceedingly soft and surprisingly comfortable. These are the kind of jeans you can wear all day with ease, paired with a simple T-shirt and sandals, or take into the evening with a mule and an elegant top.
When trying them on, I was recommended to size down and they fit perfectly at the waist. While the 32” length I tried was a little too long for my 5’2” frame, they also come in a 29" length, which is great news if you're more petite like me. Honestly, the jeans impressed me so much that I’d happily wait the time needed for a touch of tailoring.
