Ashley Graham has yet another milestone to celebrate as she continues to break boundaries in the world of fashion by redefining what it means to be a model in the 21st century.
This past October, the 30-year-old made history as the first plus-size model to star in Mario Testino's iconic Towel Series, posting the stunning photos to her Instagram account. And now, she's taken to the 'gram once again to post a series of black and white images from Vogue Italia's #TheCelebrationIssue.
But why are they boundary-breaking, you may ask? None of the photos, which were shot by Nathaniel Goldberg, are retouched. And her enthusiasm for them is clear. She posted the photo series with a slew of celebratory captions, including the bomb emoji (because, well, she looks bomb, no?) and one that said, "When they don't retouch you."
The magazine writes about the images, "Ashley pushes #bodypositivism to another level. It's not just about acceptance: it's about loving who you are and being loved, feeling so comfortable with yourself that you skillfully conduct the sophisticated game of attraction, going beyond convention, sizes, categories, and measurements imposed by modern society." Amen to that.
