Whoa: Banana Republic Is Showing at New York Fashion Week

Ever since former J.Crew womenswear head Marissa Webb took over at Banana Republic, she's been working hard at (for lack of a better term) chic-ifying the label. So far, she's been wildly successfull—her summer 15 collection for the brand, which was revealed in November, is a stunning turn for BR's conservative workwear heritage. And now, she's bringing the label to NYFW.

Fashionista confirms that Banana Republic will have its first New York Fashion Week show ever, currently slated for the 6p.m. time slot on Saturday, February 14. It's the latest in a fairly long line of mass retailers participating in the weeklong fashion extravaganza: J.Crew, Coach, and J Brand have also put on shows.

Banana Republic will give a presentation of both men's and women's F/W 15 collections. What do you think of BR's big NYFW news? Tell us in the comments below!
