A wise man once advised that we live every week like it’s Shark Week, and now—for the summer, at least—you can. In an unexpected move, The Discovery Channel has partnered with label Bad Aby on a swimsuit in honour of the shark-themed marathon that begins July 5.
The one-shoulder grey swimsuit has an apt side cutout trimmed with white leather “shark teeth.” It’s definitely a little silly, but if you’re into quirkier designs or like the occasional conversation piece, then this swimsuit is for you. Or perhaps you’re just a tried-and-true Shark Week groupie, in which case how can you pass it up?
While the partnership may seem random, it’s actually intended to woo more female viewers to the weeklong special. Apparently last summer’s Shark Week was the most watched by women ever, closing out at 639,000 female viewers between the ages of 18 and 49. It will be interesting to see if the swimsuit design helps the network (pun slightly intended) ride that wave.
