Finding inspiration in the unexpected. “The holidays can be such a busy time, so carving out an afternoon to see friends makes it that much more enjoyable, and I thought it would be fun and more impactful to draw inspiration from nail polish!” she says. For her winter table, Ferreira took a cue from the pretty hues found in Essie’s winter collection: “While most people might think of red, green, blue or silver for a holiday party, it was exciting to go off a feminine palette of pinks, nudes and gold. The colours are a little unexpected making it a unique choice for a girls brunch!”

Whipping up a signature cocktail is a welcome addition to any party. “Make it beforehand, so that all you need to do is pour. This allows you to maximise time with your friends,” Ferreira says. Try this pre-brunch holiday-themed aperitif: a white cranberry mimosa with a festive red cranberry as garnish.
A blend of fresh blooms and understated details help create an inviting tablescape. “The flowers from Bloom & Plume were absolutely stunning! The arrangements were made with the most beautiful pink peonies and mauve-coloured roses. There were seasonal flowers and sprigs of rosemary that were added in too that tied the holiday theme together.”
Ferreira documents the daytime merrymaking with a mandatory photo.
Gourmet finger foods, like quinoa cakes and fancy French toast skewers from Haute Chefs LA, are crowd favourites that also make for a pretty presentation. “Choose menu items that you can easily prep ahead of time, and pop in the oven the day of. Not having to stress last minute allowed me to enjoy the moment with friends.”
