You don't need to work in fashion to know that H&M is one of the coolest brands on the high street right now. Its headline-making designer collaborations regularly send shoppers into a virtual frenzy over who can get their hands on the last pair of embellished jeans or monogrammed tote, but it's the brand's growing presence at London Fashion Week that has really cemented its fashion credentials. Look to the front row—or, increasingly, the runway—and you'll spot some of the most talked-about It girls of the moment. So, ahead of its latest LFW show, which took place last night, I was invited to get an exclusive first look at H&M's autumn 2026 collection and try on the pieces before they hit the runway. And it's good. Very good.
Walking into a beautifully curated sea of autumnal neutrals, I was immediately overwhelmed by just how many pieces I wanted to try—and this was only the first drop. Rails were filled with delicate lace tops and romantic frilled blouses, alongside a military-inspired black Napoleon jacket that immediately caught my eye. The denim was equally strong: one pair unapologetically covered in shimmering embellishments, the other far more understated, with delicate embroidery running down the sides. Then there were the dresses. A sheer, frilled style immediately had me thinking about modern bridal dressing, whilst a bohemian mini was practically begging to be styled with thigh-high boots.
Faced with an admittedly overwhelming amount of choice, I eventually narrowed the collection down to four outfits that felt perfectly aligned with the mood of my 2026 wardrobe: a little romantic, a little nostalgic and, crucially, incredibly fun to wear.

1. Cinched Jacket + Lace Top
Style Notes: As soon as I spotted this beautiful lace top, with its billowing sleeves and perfectly cut V-neckline, I knew I was looking at one of the collection's hero pieces. It strikes the perfect balance between bohemian and polished, with just enough romance to feel feminine without becoming overly pretty. I paired it with my favourite black jeans from the collection, which feature subtle embroidered detailing, and simple black heeled sandals.
This textured white jacket was the finishing touch. Its dramatically cinched waist instantly pulled the whole look together, adding just the right amount of structure and drama to the softer pieces underneath. I think this is a masterclass in looking polished and put-together when temperatures inevitably plummet, if I do say so myself.
2. Napoleon Jacket + Embroidered Jeans
Style Notes: The military-jacket trend isn't going anywhere, and neither are frog fastenings; this style marries the two beautifully. Cropped at just the right point with a sharp, structured fit, it's the kind of jacket that instantly makes you feel polished. Layered underneath, the collection's high-neck lace top peeked through just enough to add a little sensuality to an otherwise buttoned-up look. I finished with the embroidered jeans, which kept everything feeling cool and contemporary. Just perfect.
3. Sheer Ruffled Dress + Floral Bag
Style Notes: If you told me this was a bespoke bridal gown, I'd believe you. With its high neckline, sheer bodice and perfectly placed ruffles, the dress hugged me in all the right places whilst still feeling incredibly elegant. I fell for it the second I put it on. There's something undeniably expensive-looking about the delicate fabric and floor-skimming silhouette—it made me feel instantly polished, glamorous and, dare I say, rich. I kept the styling simple and let the dress do the talking, adding the beautiful floral pouch bag as the perfect accessory.
4. Peplum Top + Diamanté Jeans
Style Notes: And now for the most festive look of the bunch. The corset-style peplum top is an immediate eye-catcher, with its strapless neckline and beautifully cinched waist creating such a striking silhouette. Whilst I could easily imagine it styled with opaque tights and heels for party season, I decided to take a slightly more wearable route, pairing it with the perfectly fitting diamanté straight-leg jeans.
The denim keeps the look cool rather than overly dressed-up, and I'd wear them throughout the festive season with everything from oversized knitwear to sleek shirting when I want just a hint of sparkle. I love the proportions of the entire outfit—the sculpted peplum against the clean, straight-leg denim feels perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of drama.
