In a sense, fashion is all about two things: what's current, and what's next. People in fashion are all about what's in right now—but what they really obsess over is what's going to be huge next. So obsessed, in fact, that there's an entire industry dedicated to forecasting trends—and U.K. based consultant Yasmin Sewell is at the top of the game.
We decided to pick her brain a bit about what she thinks is going to be huge on the runways next year—and her predictions did not disappoint.
"I think things are going to be a little bit more extravagant, people are going to want things more embellished, more embroidered, with more craftsmanship and texture," Sewell told us. "But at the same time, I think people will be wanting to go back to basics in the best way: clean lines and denim with more exaggerated shapes; things will be really oversized and feel much more modern."
To get in the mood way ahead of time, we did a little digging to find examples of exactly the type of look Sewell is talking about. Keep scrolling to see street style looks and shop inspired pieces now!
