Online shopping is a blessing and a curse, in that it makes buying new clothes a much simpler process than it used to be… but also constantly tempts us with items that we don't necessarily need. The ease of the process makes it that much easier to justify our purchases, especially those that are of the pricy variety. It's easy to forget about the details of your bank account when you're curled up in bed with an amazing new handbag staring back at you, you know? As someone who's definitely been known to splurge while shopping online, I decided to ask other real women what they've spent the most on while surfing the web. Find out what they had to say below!
“It's a toss-up between a Phillip Lim bag and a bulk order from West Elm… Returned nothing, woohoo!” — Lindsay
“A Zac Posen gown from Shopbop that I’ll be wearing this April as my sister’s maid of honor! Very Pippa Middleton at the royal wedding.” — Hannah
“A Chloé Marcie bag. Given that I had seen it in person throughout the streets of NY, there was no questioning the purchase of this classic.” — Christine
“I’m not a super-crazy splurger, but I bought one of my first big bag purchases via Net-a-Porter, which was a Proenza Schouler PS11 Classic Textured Leather Shoulder Bag in very practical basic black.” — Hillary
“I once bought a Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel online when I saw the stock on my favorite color was getting low. When it arrived, the structure wasn't right for me, and I wound up returning it—vowing never to buy a handbag online again.” — Julia
"One time, I bought a $1750 Mackage leather jacket online. It was awesome—and is now my favorite cold-weather wardrobe staple.” — Jillian
“Blue suede Acne Studios boots from a Net-a-Porter sale!” — Jessica
