Our editors spend a lot of time browsing the interwebs. It’s all part of the job, really, but we think of ourselves as shopping experts. We know how to look, where to look, and what to look for when we’re browsing our favourite online retailers. The Iconic is one of our go-to retailers for basically everything. It has one of the best delivery services we’ve come across, and a huge range of local and international labels (for women and men), so when you’re on the prowl for to find something quick, it’s especially handy.
The only problem? There are so many products, it’s sometimes difficult to navigate and find what you’re looking for. Our tips? One editor sorts via brand—this works best if you know the labels you like and rarely deviate from your list of favourites. Another editor sorts by colour—there’s no point scrolling through 3605 dresses when you know you only like black (which immediately takes the list down to 1027). And the tip that another editor uses that makes the most sense? Sort via your size. There’s nothing worse than coming across the perfect pair of jeans, only to discover they’re not in your size.
Read on to see our editors' picks from The Iconic this month.
At 31, I have finally discovered the midi length suits me best. I really love a statement dress because it makes it easy—add heels and some earrings, and off I go. I like to really dress each day and this textured Camilla and Marc dress will do well for the office and dinner after. I need more of these throw-on-and-go numbers. I will likely add a big buckle belt.
Staying on my resort theme, I’m trying to make accessories work a little harder with treasured but older pieces. I feel like that’s a really easy way to update my look without spending all of the money. These cat-eye sunglasses would work well for my mostly-black wardrobe, but also travel into summer for those Bondi afternoons.
I have gone a little resort crazy. I’m trying to build out my summer day wardrobe now, so I don’t get to summer with a bunch of black and leather and no floral or fun! It’s been a real problem for me. Serious fashion problem you guys. So these Soludos are perfect for balmy Bondi evenings sharing a cocktail with my husband. I always admire other women in espadrilles—so Euro chic.
A grey coat is so versatile, and the perfect layering piece for winter. My plan for the last month of winter is to mix things up from my regular all-black ensembles.
The perfect update on classic straight-leg black pants. These are perfect for going out at night during winter. Easy to dress up with a turtleneck and detailed belt.
This black bomber is cool enough for weekends and elevated enough to wear to work, win-win.
I often have to head straight to an evening event after a day in the office with no time to change, so this Camilla and Marc dress will bridge the gap from day to night perfectly.
I’m currently midway through a detox (hello, Dry July!) and training for a 14 km run in August, so as a result I’ve really upped my fitness regimen of late. A new pair of compression tights is at the top of my wish list and I just love the mesh detailing on this pair from Lorna Jane.
I know it's another black dress, but I really think you can never have too many. The pleat detail on this Friend of Audrey number feels different enough to everything else in my closet (and it's perfect for last-minute events).
Spring is just around the corner and every year I buy a fresh pair of neutral heels to see me through the season.
I love little subtle details, and these By Charlotte earrings are so delicate, I can get away with wearing them every day.
I accidentally ripped my favourite black jeans the other day. The Iconic to the rescue!
Will this be the year I embrace the one piece swimsuit? I'll keep you posted...
This colour is everything to me, and I can wear it now in winter with my leather jacket, until the weather warms up (plus, it's 50% off? What is this insanity!).
I'm having a moment with silk pieces, and I can imagine this skirt with a burgundy turtleneck and black boots. Say yes to colour-clashing.
Will I ever tire of shopping for jeans? The answer is most definitely no. I can't go past the price of these mom jeans.
A silk dress for under $200? I'd be crazy not to hit 'add to cart'.
