When you work in fashion, having a shopping addiction is part of the job requirement. (Or at least that’s what we tell ourselves, anyway.) And there’s a very welcome overlap between knowing the coolest new arrivals for a story and adding them to our shopping carts for the weekend. Case in point: I have a regularly updated email thread I keep for myself with the subject line, “Shopping list.”
But contrary to popular belief, working as a fashion editor doesn’t necessarily mean that you also need to have an insanely large wardrobe budget. In fact, if there’s anything we’ve learned at Who What Wear, it’s that you can achieve absolutely spectacular outfits at any price point, so long as you’re equipped with an eye for the right pieces and a killer set of styling tricks.
To illustrate just that, we asked our editors what they'll be buying this spring for under $100. Their answers may surprise you!

“This top is A.) flattering, B.) the perfect color for a girl who doesn't wear a lot of color, and C.) awesome for layering."
"I just purchased these H&M mules in yellow. They are perfect for the on-coming warm weather and pair perfectly with jeans or a skirt."
"I love the detail of the circular handles on this small tote, and also that it converts into a crossbody—so easy!"
"Something about this linen shirt spoke to me. I think the fact that it has a nice slim fit and it's a little intentionally wrinkly may have something to do with it. I won't have to worry about keeping it pristine!"
“I have so many sneakers—but honestly, can you ever have too many? The answer is no. And that's especially true when it comes to clean white kicks. If I had a little extra cash lying around, I'd for sure add to my sneaker collection with this cool pair by Adidas. I have a feeling Gigi Hadid would do the same. Just sayin'."
"If someone handed me $100 (takers, anyone?) I'd buy an expensive T-shirt. Why? Because it's not the most fun to splurge on simple pieces like a basic tee, but you end up wearing them endlessly, and a well-made version like Frame Denim's would stand the test of time."
“This spring-ready bag is light in color, weight, and on the wallet—if that's not a recipe for perfection, I don't know what is!”
“This light blue top is begging to be worn with high-waisted jeans and casual slide sandals.”
“More socks! I'll be wearing these sneakers, heeled sandals, and loafers this spring.”
"Maybe it's because festival season is right around the corner, but this '70s-inspired crochet top is calling my name. Plus, it'll look just as cool layered over a white T-shirt for a more formal setting."
"I'm a firm believer that there's no such thing as too much denim in your wardrobe. With that said, I would likely spend my $100 on these Slim-Fit Cropped Jeans from COS. I'm in love with the wash, and the price is right!"
