As we’re about to head into spring, it’s time to start evaluating what’s in your wardrobe, and how you can add a few pieces to breathe new life into old faves. Accessories are a no-brainer. They can add new interest and overhaul the way you wear some of your faithful pieces. A belt is one of my favourite ways to mix up a standard jeans and tee combo (more on that below), and a new pair of boots can make any outfit feel instantly new.
As the head buyer at Desordre, I’m lucky enough to see all the new collections before they hit stores, so my new season shopping list always comes a little early, and today, I’m sharing it with you. There’s nothing better than feeling like you have your wardrobe and style goals on track.

Okay, it seems simple. But it updates every outfit and it keeps your favourite vintage Levi’s in the right place. Heritage houses like Gucci and Moschino have revived belts from their ’70s archives and everyone from Gigi and Bella Hadid to Hailey Baldwin just can’t seem to get enough.
Invest in a black belt first (the Dylan Kain Birkin Belt ($110)) is perfect for those of us without designer budgets), and get a size you can wear waisted or high on the hip. I guarantee you’ll feel like a ‘90s supermodel with one threaded through your jeans.
The gold hardware adds an interesting element to your outfit.
Not just any boot, the thigh high, high, over the knee (and even higher) boot.
The trick is wearing these the right way, or else the look will turn into Pretty Woman before Julia Roberts had the makeover. Keep the rest of your outfit low-key and avoid body-con and plunging necklines. Instead, go with something that has volume and a loose silhouette to offset the sexiness. This style boot also looks great with a mini (but no too mini) skirt with a slight flounce so there is a peak of skin. It's perfect as we head into spring—you can start wearing your skirts and dresses, but still kepe warm. Ellery, Stone Cold Fox, KitX and Macgraw have some great pieces to pair back with the boots.
These will be so perfect with a billowy skirt.
This all-purpose wardrobe stable is your wardrobe saviour. In the AM, wear them with a boyfriend tee, chuck on a blazer, and some sneakers and you are straight up model-off-duty. In the PM, bust out your statement heels, an off-the-shoulder top (a la Ellery) and voila, you’re red carpet ready, but not OTT. Remember these are an investment piece, so stay away from cheap fabrics—think crepe, cotton, and silk-satin, as these will flatter your shape.
Ankle details make these more interesting than your normal pair of straight-leg pants.
