If any piece of jewelry should come with a set of rules, it's the engagement ring. Thanks to The Knot, we have all the dos and don'ts of ring shopping covered.
The most surprising thing about this list is the point made about ring shape. We're so often taught that the 4 Cs—that's cut, clarity, and carat, for all you newbies—are the most important part when picking a ring, but the first thing to be considered is the shape. "Shape indicates the actual geometry of the stone, as opposed to cut, which relates to the angles of the facets in the stone."
You know what that means… It's time to do some serious ring shopping so you know if you're a cushion, pear, or princess at heart.
