This Is Exactly What Happens at a Model Casting

Ahead of Alice McCall's stand-out Fashion Week Australia show, Who What Wear Australia went behind the scenes to visit the brand's model castings, about a week before the floral carpet was rolled out.

Before the models do their thing down the runway at fashion week, they're sent to numerous castings to meet designers, stylists, and show producers and have a type of 'audition' for the show. The purpose of the casting is to determine if the model has the right look and feel for the direction of the show.

We had a sneak peek behind the scenes at the Alice McCall casting, and if you were ever curious about what actually goes on, keep scrolling.

Models are asked to walk, so the show producers can determine if they have the right look and feel, and 'walk' for the show.

There's a lot of waiting, waiting, waiting, for your turn to meet the crew.

You'll normally have a few Polaroid images taken, so the crew can remember who they've seen, and see how the models look with a bare face and hair.
