Welcome back to our organizational series, where on the last day of each month, we’ll roll out a new closet-related topic with expert-approved tips and advice. Over the last year, Lili Pettit of Clutter Healing shared the best IKEA finds for your closet, the clothing care products every girl should own, and more must-read wardrobe tips. Now we're introducing you Melanie Charlton from Clos-ette, who will be sharing even more organizational insight.
Scroll down to read her first set of tips, and let us know if you have any questions for Charlton at the end!
Use all the same hangers in order to give your closet an instant makeover. We love our signature hanger by Clos-ette.
To create extra space for shoes, line your shoes up under shallow hanging space, heel to toe. This way you know the match is behind the front-row shoe, and you can see more pairs. Boot trees and shoe stretchers by Dasco are also great options.
The Clos-ette Too jewelry page inserts as a way to organize and see all your jewelry. Then place the individual zippered pouches in drawers to securely store your items.
Organize clothes into separates by color and type: light to dark, and left to right. Go an extra step and use an app like Snap+Style to keep your inventory and wardrobe organized through photos.
I love using sweater folding boards, not only to create the perfect fold but also to leave a few inside sweaters to keep the bugs away and act as a natural antiseptic to freshen clothes.
Add a peg wall for accessories on a shallow wall space. You can hang sunglasses, costume jewelry, scarves, and bags. It's a great way to use a wall in a closet you normally wouldn't think of using!
