If there’s one thing my years in fashion have taught me, it’s that no trend ever really disappears. Given enough time, even the most divisive styles find their way back.

Making my case, this week Jennifer Lawrence revived a dated boot trend I still didn't expect to see again so soon: Ugg’s long-line sheepskin boots. Winter officially started a few days ago, but it's felt like winter in much of the country for more than a month at this point. And for many, that means one thing: Uggs. I've been discussing one pair, in particular, for many weeks already, and if you're a fan of The Row, it's the perfect style for you. The Row's Hudson Mules are undoubtedly one of the brand's most popular shoes of the year, and Hailey Bieber is the latest of several celebrities to wear them. But if you're seeking a similar style that's far more affordable, the Ugg Elea slides are certain to satisfy you. There's no doubt about it; when winter comes around, everyone I know wants to wear this one kind of shoe, and this shoe only. It's cosy, timeless and anti-trend, and, needless to say, it's celebrity-approved too. I have noted elite dressers, from Sarah Jessica Parker, Bella Hadid, Elsa Hosk and even London's 'Brat Queen' Charli xcx wear this shoe. My friends, family members, and acquaintances frequently ask me for fashion, styling, and trend advice. I often recommend sticking to the classics—pieces you will buy now and love forever, which integrate into your wardrobe seamlessly. This also applies to winter footwear. I have also noticed their move towards more reinforced, yet still very lightweight, soles, which make them even more fit for outdoor wear. Some even utilise Vibram, which is a high-performance rubber outsole technology, so you can get even more milage out of them for years to come.

Now, you may be wondering which UGG styles I suspect will be reigning supreme in 2026. I still firmly believe in only investing in the classics, but with any kind of UGG, you will be hard-pressed to step a foot wrong. The mini boots will always be a fashion person's favourite, and slip-on styles are great for wearing whilst chilling at home. Unsurprisingly, one of Ogunsola’s go-to footwear brands is Ugg. Founded in 1978 by an Australian surfer on the coast of California, UGG is a global lifestyle brand renowned for its iconic Classic boot which were as important to the early and mid 2000s as Paris Hilton and indie sleaze. But it has since grown exponentially, offering a wide range of styles including boots, trainers, slippers and, of course, sandals and slides. Two of Ugg’s most popular styles for the summer months are the Aww Yeah and FoamO slides. "My summer shoe rotation is filled with chunky, colourful sandals in all shapes and sizes, so these styles pretty much hit the nail on the head. Adding to this, I would say two key elements when it comes to my personal style are comfort and fun, and Ugg does both so well,” Ogunsola tells me. With their thick, supportive yet soft soles, chunky silhouette and bold colours, these shoes are perfect for any maximalist looking for a sandal that fuses comfort and cool. They’re also so easy to style—really, they can be worn for just about any casual occasion and will always guarantee a subtle statement with a street style edge.

To give you some style inspiration, I asked Ogunsola to put together four summer-friendly looks—two for each shoe. She’s curated killer ensembles that the whole Who What Wear team has been cooing over since we saw them. Scroll on, and be warned: These looks may cause a severe desire to shop.

Take this as a cool girl’s guide to festival dressing. The pink Aww Yeah shoes pop when styled with double denim, a signature Y2K trend. Has anyone done this look so well since Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears? Because the Aww Yeah shoe has a wedge heel, you can easily get away with a baggier jean, which is the trending jeans silhouette for 2023. Pair this with a more fitted top like Ogunsola’s to further enhance the noughties vibe, and finish it with a matching pink baguette bag. Whilst everyone else at the event may be in mesh minidresses and short shorts, this is much more sophisticated.

Styling Tip: Don’t be afraid to mix and match denim shades. As you can see here, the pink hue of the Aww Yeah looks equally good with bleached and dark jeans.

One thing Ogunsola proves better than anyone is that office attire needn’t be boring. Whilst there are occasions that require formal attire, the days of a traditional "young professional” uniform of pencil skirts and court shoes are generally a thing of the past. You may often see this slide on the beach or by the pool, but its chunky aesthetic pared back with a black tank top and pants elevates it and gives a fresh take on minimalist dressing.

Styling Tip: Want to add a sportier edge to these slides? Just add socks.

Baggier jeans may be the trending silhouette this year, but the denim item I’ve seen the most over the last few seasons has to be the jean skirt. Whether you like a midi or maxi style, choose your fighter and run with it because it’s not going anywhere. I often get asked which shoes to style a denim skirt with, and whilst a ballet flat or sneaker may feel—for lack of a better word—flat, the cushioned sole of the Aww Yeah adds a little height and dimension and remains unequivocally fashion-forward.

Styling Tip: Wear this look with a baby tee or motif-printed mesh top to give it a playful edge, or wear a striped shirt to make it feel more structured.

This is casual styling at its finest. Like the slides, a graphic tee and cargo trouser bridge the gap between comfort and cool, which can be difficult to achieve. These camo pants also nod to the Y2K resurgence, making this outfit feel fresh. If you’re heading away for a city break, this ensemble should speak to you. Whilst the shoes are vibrant, they also offer some support (unlike other flat sandals with thin leather straps), so they’re ideal if you’re going to be on your feet for city strolls and sightseeing. But I would wear this look to any low-key occasion.

Styling Tip: Want to take this look from transitional-weather days to high-summer style? Swap out the pants for a slip skirt, and you’ll be able to embrace the warmer weather.

Uggs have made a major comeback. Yes, you heard that right. There's no denying that they have been bubbling up for a while now, and after spotting some of our favourite fashion influencers donning the cosy footwear, the whole Who What Wear team can't stop talking about the brand's resurgence.

If you came to this story thinking that there's a new pair of Ugg boots out there that only costs £35, I regret to inform you that that will probably never come to be, but there is a £35 Ugg item that'll add a cool, protective boost to your boots and sneakers. This magical item is the Ugg Boot Guard, which fits over the sole of your boots to keep the rain and snow away from the suede.

The Boot Guard actually came out in 2021, but for one reason or another, it's picked up steam as of late. When it comes to the arrival of a new season, few are as definitive as the start of autumn. Winter eases itself in slowly, spring's bright sunshine only signifies a slight rise in steady temperatures, but autumn has arrived as if overnight. As we quickly move to adjust our wardrobes, our shorts and sandals are packed up for another year and cosy staples are pulled out from the deepest shelves. Already I've slunk back into having a light knit to hand at all times, plus an umbrella because, well, this is England. Another day, another image of a celebrity in a puffer-jacket outfit we want to emulate. Yesterday, we spotted Katie Holmes in a very affordable Mango look, and today, we're all about Sienna Miller's cold-weather look.

While Holmes opted for a knee-grazing quilted coat, Miller is making a case for a cropped style. Seen on the streets of London walking her adorable dogs, Miller chose a brown padded jacket, vintage-wash jeans, and a striped beanie. Of course, no Miller look would be complete without a touch of understated luxury, so the star finished her outfit with a pair of very cosy merino wool–lined Gucci ankle boots. Our dream attire for a dog walk? You bet.

Although we often spot Miller at red carpet premieres and events, it's refreshing to see the star's off-duty wardrobe and know that she is very much championing the same lockdown uniform as the rest of us. It's really started to get a little frost-bitten out there. Yes, it's December and it's always this chilly, but I still never quite seem to be ready for it. Those of you that, unlike me, are prepared, seem to be beating the cold weather by swaddling yourselves in a shearling, borg or teddy-bear coats, and now I'm spotting the fuzzy texture crossing over to the bag department en masse. This winter, shearling bags are everywhere. 

It's no wonder that one of the snuggest and warmest fabrics around is becoming a cult favourite with the fashion crowd. We've been granted our fair share of "duvet" dressing over the years with quilted coats, skirts and jackets but this takes it to a whole new level.

The dynamic duo Proenza Schouler sent their models down the runway in tailoring and draping - punctuated with shearling pouch bags, artfully folded over and tucked under the model's arm. This is the perfect example of the versatility of this fabric and how darn good it looks with black leather. 

I love the evolution of this trend and how brands have utilised it in such varied ways. You have multiple hues from the ever-colourful Kurt Geiger, fluid shapes from Nanushka and artfully trimmed totes from Gucci and UGG x Telfar. Now while I'm on the topic of the latter, the two have come together to bring the shearling and suede experience of one to combine with the handbag genius of the other. They have created a scale of sizes, all adorning a shearling trimming to the logo and edges. 

Other cult brands who can boast that this isn't their first rodeo in the teddy/shearling department include Stand and Staud, so you won't be surprised to see them in the running for some of the best offerings out there right now. The much-loved DeMellier Tokyo bag is also now available in a delightful shearling finish.

One more thing I love about the shearling texture (I know, I'm a little obsessed with it but I'm nearly done, I promise) is that you can enjoy the borg-like bobbly texture or a fluffier surface like that of the Hereu bag which is just so, so soft.

As soon as the weather starts to get chilly, there's one cosy standby that starts popping up everywhere: Ugg boots. You may remember that Preen gave the brand a stylish update not too long ago, but Ugg's latest collaboration is decidedly subtler (but no less cool).

As Footwear News reports, Ugg tapped 3.1 Phillip Lim to design revamped versions of the brand's classic boots for men, and they're definitely worth raiding the menswear section for. From zipper detailing to cosy plaid material—and even 2017 versions of duck boots—the collection is definitely cool. "Shoes that are highly functional is the most important thing," Lim told Footwear News of the collab. Will you be investing in these for autumn and winter?

Come the colder weather, hunting down the perfect stylish winter boot is a necessity. "Ugg" and "edgy" are two words we would normally never see in the same sentence—until now. Ugg has had something of a fashion makeover as of late, as evidenced by the classic boots featured in Nicopanda's New York Fashion Week collection, and it just launched a collaboration with one of London's most celebrated designers.

Ugg is owning its "ugly shoe" rep by teaming up with London Fashion Week label Preen by Thornton Bregazzi to create chunky, stompy sliders and flatforms in black and white. These shoes are nothing like what you'd usually see from Ugg, as the shoes have plenty of attitude and are for those who are looking to make a brave fashion statement rather than feel like they are wearing slippers. These runway-approved shoes were paired with lacy white-and-black ankle socks in Preen's LFW show in September 2016, and they have now just dropped online for £275 and £325.

You know how every season there’s a new boot, bag, or accessory that takes center stage? Even though we’re not quite into fall yet, it seems as though UGG is already on top with its just-released Classic Luxe Collection. The line has three new styles—Abree, Abree Short, and The Karisa—which are elevated versions of the Classic Boot. Think sleeker, with refined details and the same legendary comfort. The new boots are crafted in Italy and made with suede and lined with merino sheepskin, which is close to half the thickness of the Classic Boot’s twin-face fleece, and the Abree and Abree Short styles are topped off with an antique bronze metal zipper for a more contoured fit. But if you want something a little edgier, opt for The Karisa, a mini style that has buckles and fringe. If that doesn’t sell you, then knowing that it comes in a variety of colours should.
