At the launch event yesterday for the Victoria Beckham Target collaboration, the designer and style star made a statement that the collection was designed for "empowering women, empowering girls.” So it’s no wonder that the line not only included music from the ultimate girl-power group in its TV advert but is also packed full of chic pieces that are sophisticated and playful.

Furthermore, since Beckham’s aim is to support women and girls, she also started right at home. For this project, she teamed up with her own daughter, 5-year-old Harper, for her first foray into childrenswear.

Ahead of the launch at Target and online on April 9, take a look at every single piece from the most widely appealing (as far as age and size) and most affordable (everything’s under £60!) Victoria Beckham collection. Before you ask, yes the collection will be available to buy in the UK via Victoria Beckham's own website. 

At the launch, VB wore her favourite look from the entire collection, a black shirt with white cuffs and a calla lily design down the front with a pair of black wide-leg trousers.

Waking up, pouring a cup of coffee, maybe hopping in the shower, or hitting the gym; we all have our own unique routine when it comes to kicking off a new day. But one thing we all have no choice but to do is to get dressed for whatever lies ahead. With our constant daily to-do lists, it's not unusual to spend an entire day running from responsibility to responsibility, which is why in 2017, there's nothing more important than a wardrobe that works with you.

It will come as no surprise then that when it comes to the dos and don'ts of getting dressed, the women who inspire our style have one thing in common: They choose comfort and versatility when picking out their outfit.

Whether that means never wearing heels, or staying away from anything too restrictive, six chic women shared exactly what they do and don't do when getting ready. Armed with their advice, we hope getting up on the right side of the bed will feel just a little bit easier. 

Read on to learn the major morning dos and don'ts of stylish women, and then shop pieces to help you nail getting dressed at the beginning of the day…

Don't: Wear Anything That's Not Versatile Enough to Survive the Whole Day

If there's one word that describes Walker's morning outfit decisions, it's comfort. "I never feel uncomfortable. On a normal day, I may attend shows, but I also have buying meetings and I need to feel comfy." For Walker, this means she never starts the day in heels, "I can't work in high heels because my feet always hurt. I tend to wear platforms, and I love that sneakers are so on trend."

When it comes to getting dressed, Mejia has one important rule, "no visible panty lines!" And while picking the right underwear for the day ahead is crucial, she also notes she has one other big no-go when getting dressed. "Being too matchy-matchy (except for denim on denim)." 

For the stylist, dressing is all about dressing in pieces that make her comfortable. "I try not to dress too young," she says. "A good friend once said to me 'if you wore it the first time around, you shouldn't the second time around.' This doesn't apply to clothing that has a nod to a trend but it can't be too literal in design… it won't work." She also notes that when it comes to dressing for work, she avoids pieces that are restrictive or uncomfortable, "it will just irritate me within an hour."

When she's getting ready in the morning, Sabharwal says there's one thing she'll never do, "put my makeup on before I'm fully dressed." And when it comes to picking out what to wear, she says unless she's off to the gym, shiny leggings are to be avoided. "Keep a little to the imagination," she notes. "And if you are going to do it, make sure to avoid underwear lines."

Since her busy schedule leaves her constantly on the go, Lee knows that it's all about clothing that can get you through anything. "Entrepreneurship has left a lot less time for everything else in my life, so versatility and comfort became increasingly important filters for my personal style," she says. "I avoid anything that distracts me from focusing on what's important; so I gravitate toward beautiful clothes that I can live and work in."

When it comes to morning rituals, the designer has one that's pretty darn important, "I never get dressed without checking the weather forecast." Nonoo notes that walking to work every day means that being prepared is key to making through the day unscathed. "Every good New Yorker lives by the weather forecast or faces the consequences at their own peril," she says.

We're especially loving his shirt dresses and mohair fringe sweaters in the womenswear collection. And what we really love is that everything in the Adam Lippes x Target collaboration is less than $130. A couple of weeks ago, we heard the news that architecturally inclined jewellery designer Eddie Borgo would be the next Target collaborator—with Poppy Delevingne as his muse and the face of the partnership. And now, the full lookbook is here!

Unsurprisingly, the collection (which, as you may recall, will also be fully customisable) features a ton of Borgo's signature geometric shapes in standout metallics and beading. Not only does the line feature core pieces like bangles, necklaces, and rings, but there are also things like belts and charms, which you can use to accessorize bags, clutches, and beyond.

It’s no secret that Target collaborations garner a lot of buzz. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’d know that most recently, it was Lilly Pulitzer for Target that sold out instantly—going on eBay for more than double the price in some instances. If you're like us, you've been waiting to get your hands on Target's latest collaboration with Lilly Pulitzer ever since the news first broke about the line in January. Well, the time has come: You can finally shop the 250-piece line of printed swimsuits, easy summer dresses, and quirky accessories on Sunday! But as you know from past Target collabs (Missoni and 3.1 Phillip Lim, anyone?), the merch is going to go fast, so a solid shopping strategy is key. Thankfully our friends at Fashionista put together a must-read list to get you ready.

Here's what you need to know.

1. The collection (check it out here) will go live "early" Sunday morning EST—exact time TBD, so be prepared. 

2. Target stores will open at normal times on Sunday, so it's best to line up. 

3. Some items will only be available online. So if you're lazy, just shop from your couch. 

4. You will only have 14 days to return what you like (rather than the normal 90 days), so plan what you really like in advance.

5. There's no limit on how much you can buy in the store, but you can only purchase five of the same item online.

As you know, we love a designer + Target collection—Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Jason Wu, we're talking to you—but the shopping giant's brilliant collaboration with 3.1 Phillip Lim is truly next level. Hitting stores on September 15th, the collection features over 100 pieces that span menswear, womenswear, and accessories. You know we're going to be the first in line!

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27) in Alchimie

There is little I love more than a metallic polish—this is Hillary writing, FYI—and while I've been on a chrome silver or rose gold kick for the better part of 2013, for fall I'm all about this slightly odd metallic khaki green from Chanel. It's such an interesting neutral, plus I'm a sucker for a little sheen, and much like grey, it goes with nothing, so therefore it goes with everything! 

Club Monaco Ela Suede Moto Jacket ($695)

Clearly we're crazy about all things moto jacket for fall, and this one is definitely our crush du jour. The slightly, relaxed, lightly boxy cut is deceptively-flattering and the bright cobalt suede is simply a knockout. 

East Dane

You might have noticed that we've been paying a little more attention to the fellows lately—talking about how to style the man in your life, discussing the best dressed dudes—and it seems we're not the only ones. The geniuses behind one of our favourite e-commerce sites Shopbop are feeling the fellows too, and are launching a new menswear-shopping site, East Dane, this week. The site features a mix of new favourites (Alexander Wang) and beloved classics (Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots), plus styling tips and tricks, and we have a hunch the one-stop shop is going to make a really, really, really big splash.

Full disclosure: we've been full-tilt Julianne Hough supporters for a while now, so when she agreed to do a beauty shoot for our sister site Byrdie, there was some serious celebrating in the office. Our girl crush was game for trying a look that's more runway than red carpet—rainbow brite eye makeup, but done in a majorly gorgeous way—and looked incredible doing it. Prince

Some of us (ahem, Katherine), really, really, really love Prince. As in, name their cat after him, love him. So the fact that the purple high priest of funk is on Twitter now, well, suffice it to say, this is totally up our alley. His sense of humour shows too; Prince not only referenced a classic Chappelle’s Show line on Twitter recently, but he’s also using a photograph of Dave Chappelle, dressed as Prince, as the artwork for his new song "Breakfast Can Wait.” Well played, sir. Well played. 

Proenza Schouler Lunch Bag Large Shearling Clutch ($1045)

We might not be able to break out our fall coats for another few months, but we can start appropriating some of the season's key fabrics into our wardrobes via other ways, like Proenza Schouler's next-level furry clutch. The simple shape lets the unexpected material really stand out, plus who can resist a textured accessory? Not us, not now.

Dior Nail Earrings ($440) In Palladium

Dior is killing it right now for us, on basically every level. While we might not have big enough budgets to splurge on the entire collection, the incredible silver earrings from the brand's F/W 13 campaign are a bit more attainable and will add the right amount of polish to any outfit.

The World According To Karl ($30)

Though it doesn't technically come out until mid-September, this book is already creating a buzz in our office. Karl Lagerfeld is wildly quotable—"Think pink. But don't wear it."—and we have a feeling this is going to be on our gifts to give list come the holidays. 

Bridget Hall for Prabal Gurung Fall 13 Digital Campaign

While the latest crop of models are certainly on our radar, we'll always have a soft spot for the girls who have been a part of our collective consciousness for years, which is why we're so pleased that Prabal Gurung cast the incomparable Bridget Hall in his F/W 13 digital campaign. The 35-year-old Dallas, Texas-raised model has been one of our favourites since she burst onto the scene nearly two decades ago, and as these images prove, she's only getting better.
