When Uggs first started trickling back onto the scene a few seasons ago, I’ll admit I assumed they were destined for a fleeting revival. After soaring to such heights—and plummeting to equally dramatic lows—I didn’t expect the controversial sheepskin boots to reclaim their place in our wardrobes anytime soon. It takes a lot to pry my attention away from the stunning looks being paraded through central London at the 2025 BAFTAs. Or so I thought, with one forgotten product making its return on the red carpet. (And piquing my interest by consequence.)

Out of all the decades, I'd argue that the '60s was one of—if not the most—iconic time for bob hairstyles. In my opinion, the '60s bob is the bob. During this era, legendary hairstylist Vidal Sassoon pioneered the 5-point haircut which led to short, geometric haircuts, such as bobs, becoming one of the defining hair trends of the decade. Think former first lady Jackie Kennedy, fashion designer Mary Quant and actress and singer Diana Ross, who all embraced modern bobs with a signature '60s silhouette during this era.

And lately, it seems one sort of '60s bob hair trend is having somewhat of a revival in 2025, with celebrities such as Selena Gomez and Zendaya embracing big, Jackie O-esque bouncy bobs on the red carpets.

"The '60s bob is a short, jaw-length bob that is chunky through the outline giving plenty of movement and bounce through the ends," says Cos Sakkas, three-times British Hairdresser of the Year and Toni & Guy global creative director.

'60s bobs have plenty of volume at the roots and a luxurious swing or bounce through the lengths. "It’s all in the detail—the '60s bob has that little bit of extra polish and sophistication," says Sakkas, who says this is a versatile hairstyle you can wear in various partings. "The '60s bob is effortless and cool. It’s a nod to the past but totally modern and it looks great if left to dry naturally or softer when blowdried," he says.

"The great thing about the bob is there is a shape to suit every face shape," says Sakkas. "The oval face shape is the luckiest as all bobs suit this face shape, especially the '60s bob," he says.

How To Style a '60s Bob

"As with any styling, try to keep touching it to a minimum to avoid it frizzing," says Sakkas. "Apply Label.M Anti-Frizz Smoothing Balm (£26) through the mid-lengths and ends and leave to dry naturally, or blow-dry with a big round brush (or a hot brush) for a more polished finish," he says.

"Alternatively, set it in hot rollers for that ultimate '60s bouncy finish," says Sakkas. "Once it’s set, keep your fingers away; if you must touch it, use the end of a comb to prevent it frizzing and flopping out of shape."

Whilst winter isn't my favourite season (I much prefer the heat), it's not completely without its pleasures, and let's face it, I wouldn't be a fashion editor if I didn't find winter style a little bit exciting.

Walking through the streets of New York, Selena Gomez styled the exact outfit combination that my petite colleague says she wears at least once a week.

Starting with a pair of white trousers in a voluminous wide-leg cut, Gomez paired her look with black pointed-toe heels. Adding structure and height to her weekday outfit, Gomez's wide-leg trousers and pointed-toe shoe pairing was quickly flagged by my 5' 3" colleague Maxine Eggenberger, who told me that this is the exact shoe she reaches for whenever she wears a similar trouser style. Our team Slack chat was in unanimous agreement—not only is Gomez's look petite-friendly, but it's also one of the chicest outfits we've seen her in this season.

"Whilst Selena might not technically fall into the petite height category (I believe she's 5' 5"), the fact she's styled her wide-leg trousers with the exact shoe I would also wear to balance out my frame when wearing wide-leg trousers is no accident," notes Eggenberger. "A pointed-toe shoe creates the illusion of extra length, and whilst I'm not fussed about looking taller, I do find the combination makes me look more in proportion when I'm wearing trousers with this level of volume."

Nowhere was this proven more than at Variety's 2022 Hitmakers brunch, which took place this weekend in Los Angeles. For the event, which Dua Lipa and H.E.R. also attended, the Only Murders in the Building star chose a midi-length little black dress made of extremely seasonally appropriate velvet and formalised with a sculptural, ruffled hem. Designed by one of Instagram’s most beloved brands, Totême, the frock was gorgeous in its simplicity and only made better with the addition of patent leather By Far heels and gold-and-black jewellery.

I have never vibed with tinted moisturiser. The thing is, I have oily combination skin that gets shiny within about an hour of doing my makeup, so I need a base that isn’t too dewy for better longevity. However, most tinted moisturisers have a super dewy, glowy finish which is just a bit of a nightmare for oily skin. Because I’ve so seldomly found a tinted moisturiser that suits anything but balanced or dry skin I’m always willing to try new ones to to see if I can find another light base that works for me so I can add to my roster.

I’m a huge fan of Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez. The range has been carefully crafted, the formulas are easy to use and the array of colours are inclusive. I don’t just mean the shades in the foundation and concealer; I mean the fact that the blusher is so highly pigmented that you only need a dot of product and you can see it on even the deepest skin tone– this is so important because normally colours will have to be layered on to see pigment on dark skin. So, when I saw they were launching a tinted moisturiser I was of course going to give it a try.

The shade range is great. There are 24 shades in total but they're flexible thanks to the sheer coverage. This is the kind of base that you can just have one shade of and not have to worry about having a summer and winter shade. And the colours are equally split between light, medium and dark with a variety of neutral, cool and warm undertones. It has built-in SPF 20 but I wouldn’t rely on this as your SPF coverage for the day as you would need to apply a lot of it to get that protection so apply SPF before you start your makeup.

The best thing about this formula is that it does give a hint of coverage but the main draw is the way it blurs your skin and gives a radiance without being greasy or too shiny. If you’re looking for a base with any noticeable coverage, then this isn’t the buy for you. When I use it, I’ll conceal my undereyes for coverage. My skin looks refreshed and plump. Like a better version of itself before I put makeup on, so a bit shiny but not in desperate need of blotting.

For a chill day with minimal rushing around I can throw this on and it’ll last a few hours before looking on the shinier side but if I want this to last longer without my T-zone oiliness breaking throw I have to powder it before I head out. It sits well under powder– I opt for a translucent finish– and the radiance is still prominent.

 While this tinted moisturiser, like most, is skewed more to a drier skin type, I would still recommend if you have oily or combination skin like mine, it feels great to wear and layers excellently under powder.

Recently, I had to stop people in the street and ask them what the one beauty product is they’d recommend to either a friend or a total stranger for a piece of video content I was working on. Turns out, it ended up helping me in more ways than one as I am now writing this very article. Because aside from a few household names and TikTok sensations—I’m talking Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter and Hourglass Phantom Glossy Balm—as well as a few products I’d never even heard of thrown in, there was an overwhelming amount of people with the same response. However, there are clear exceptions to this— just look at the likes of Rhode, Fenty Beauty, Victoria Beckham Beauty and, of course, Rare Beauty, which continues to be a favourite amongst beauty editors, influencers, makeup artists and consumers.

Founded by Selena Gomez, Rare Beauty launched in the US back in 2020 and quickly established itself as one of the best celebrity beauty brands in the game. It prides itself on building a safe space for everyone to experiment and enjoy beauty, plus it’s also an extremely personal project for Gomez, who donates a percentage of annual profits to a mental health charity she founded. When Rare Beauty finally came to the UK in 2022, raising brand awareness wasn’t even a question and everyone was already desperate to get their hands on it, which was in no doubt thanks to Selena’s regular full-face-of-Rare tutorials posted to her social media. The brand continues to go from strength to strength, with staggering sales figures that saw Gomez reach billionaire status. But founder aside, its reputation is also down to the fact that the products are—in short—really, really good.

I was already an advocate for the brand, having long considered the Soft Pinch Blush and Optimist Illuminating Primer as staples in my makeup bag. For the purposes of this piece, I was sent a full face of products to try and it’s safe to say I’m even more of a fan girl now. Winter is the season in which I almost always end up in a fashion rut. I just can't resist the sweatpants calling my name. However, in an effort to get back on my fashion game, I'm taking notes from WWW's favorite celebrities this season. We've been reporting on everyone from Kate Middleton to Katie Holmes, but it's duos like Hailey Bieber and Alexa Demie that have caught my attention. When it comes to pulling out enviable makeup looks, Selena Gomez has always been ahead of the curve. She's not afraid to take risks, and with the help of her trusted makeup artist, Hung Vanngo, the singer has demonstrated how to pull off every look from disco-ball eyelids to bold lips with ease.

For their latest showstopping look, the duo reminded us that exaggerated '60s-inspired cat-eye makeup is a vibe we'd very much like to invite into 2020. The bold cat eye, or wing, as it's referred to more casually, is one of those classic makeup looks that seem easy but actually take a solid amount of skill to execute well.

Coincidentally, we've been hot on the trail of the perfect winged liner for some time now. In a recent interview with Vogue, Vanngo shared that his process included creating a cat eye and then going back in to soften it a bit. "We extended the liner and smoked it outwards at the ends," he said when asked about the Twiggy-esque look he'd created for Gomez's recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Reading between the lines of this little nugget offers some insight into the type of eyeliner Vanngo used to draw the dramatic look since only certain products, such as gel and powder liners, stay malleable long enough to create any kind of smoking effect. Others, such as liquid eyeliners, dry too quickly to achieve any kind of manipulation after they're placed on the skin.

This gives me major early 2000's vibe when everyone was obsessed with the art of scrunching. It saved time and honestly, looked professionally done—a la Ashley Graham here. 

Don't want to over-do the gel? Loosely work the gel into your middle part creating the wet illusion without completely weighing your hair down. 

As the queen of wet hair, Kim nails this 'do by opting for thicker, fuller curls rather than loose beach waves. By alluding to a fullness in her wet curls, Kim's hair is far from unruly. Scroll threw a few of Kim's hair must-have products to create the ultimate sheen to her hair. 

Proof that your hair does not need to be down to pull off wet hair. First, comb gel through your straight middle part smoothing down your hair to each side. Complete the look by pulling your hair back into a low bun. Does it get any easier? 

This is a simpler wet look for Selena, however, she reveals that your hair doesn't have to look drenched in order to dabble with the trend. Opt for more of a damp look by gently wetting your natural hair texture and simply, letting it go.

Another glossy ponytail to flaunt wet hair. Try calming the ponytail with a fashionable braid and complete this hairstyle with a final pass of oil to add shine. 

Short hair? No problem. Strategically comb your bangs back, creating defined lines on the sides. By doing so, you create a tamed wet look. Pro tip: gently brush out a few fly aways in the front as Kaia does to loosen the look. 

Adding a headband is always a good idea. It's an easy trick to update wet curly hair. 

Another master of wet hair, Miley has been a true stan of the style. Her look is easy to execute, yet still refined. Gel your natural hair until it begins to look wet. Once you achieve the wet look, make sure to go back through and make sure there are no fly-aways. 

Ditch the middle part and slick your hair all the way back to create that 'middle school swim team hair.' Wear this wet hair look like Sofia in a cozy sweatshirt or dress it up with gold hoops and sequined number and you're ready for a night out. 

Though similar to Kaia's other wet hairstyle, if you have short hair, sometimes the smallest tweaks can make the biggest difference. Here, Kaia's bangs are softly gelled to the side, making for a softer wet style.

Her stylist Kate Young k knows how to create an impactful promo tour wardrobe (she also works with Margot Robbie and Sienna Miller), and yesterday she dressed Selena in one of our favourite autumn outfits: a midi dress and over-the-knee boots.

While a simple dress-and-boots look might seem like an obvious choice given the current climate, Selena added interest to the outfit by opting for a dress with plenty of personality. The piece was pulled straight from the runway of Ganni’s S/S 20 collection and features a flattering square neckline and playful tiger print.

Although the dress itself is yet to be released, the much-loved Danish label has made quite a habit of creating chic animal-print midis, which means there are a few other iterations of the dress that you can already get your hands on.

To finish the look, Selena paired the statement dress alongside suede over-the-knee boots by French fashion house Celine. And although we have already declared that knee-high boots are having a big moment, Gomez has certainly solidified their status as this season’s go-to by proving they can be worn alongside any skirt length in your existing wardrobe. From midi to mini, fitted or A-line, knee-high boots are versatile enough to transition across several looks.

It's hardly a surprise that Anna Wintour, editor in chief of Vogue U.S. and all-round doyenne of fashion, is wearing A/W 19's biggest dress trend of dark florals (Florals, for winter? Actually groundbreaking).

What is a surprise, however, is that Selena Gomez is also getting in on the trend early, proving that this is a look that looks good on everyone. While silhouettes might differ, the print is very similar⁠: red flowers on a black background. Anna went for a Dolce & Gabbana dress that featured bold red poppies, and Selena opted for a Rixo dress (also seen on shopping editor Joy Montgomery) with red and pink roses.

Back in February, Paco Rabanne and Prada were just two of the designers that showcased this trend, with bold florals taking centre stage. But before we've even made our way out of summer, you can still invest in this trend. While Selena's dress is still available, Rixo tends to sell out quickly, and the D&G frock isn't even available yet (plus, you might find that isn't so purse-friendly).

However, the high street and other luxury brands are already stocking this trend. New favourite dress brand Les Revêries does a gorgeous high-necked version, and & Other Stories has a delicate yellow dress that will work for summer as well as winter (all you need to do is swap out your sandals for boots). It feels like over the past five to ten years, everyone with celebrity status has launched a beauty line. What started as a concept everyone wanted a slice of has slowly but surely lost its allure. A recent study by market research company Ipsos found many social media users feel sceptical that celebs actually use the products they push and say the market is oversaturated. One commenter even went as far as saying, "Dear celebrities, please—and I mean this with the greatest respect—please stop forcing new skincare lines onto us. We don’t need it, we don’t want it. We know you’re not even using it. Please, just stop.” Sheesh.

For me, it was the announcement of Brad Pitt releasing his own skincare line in September last year that, quite frankly, sent me over the edge. "Where will it end?” I internally cried. However, I must give credit where credit is due, and flag there are certain celebs absolutely killing it in the beauty industry. Let’s take Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, for example, which launched in 2017 and is now worth $2.8 billion. Or newcomer Rhode by Hailey Bieber, featuring a line up of sellout skincare essentials and that viral peptide lip treatment. I’m yet to try the brand and I’m eagerly awaiting its arrival into the UK, so watch this space…

There are also a lot of skincare and makeup staples in my own beauty regime that were born from celebrity-founded brands, so it’s not all doom and gloom. If they clearly love and whole-heartedly believe in their brand, everything feels more authentic and it reflects in the product offering.

Launched in 2021 with Ariana Grande at the helm, the collection features ethereal shades and pigments housed in sci-fi inspired packaging. The brand prides itself on being fully inclusive, and just a quick scroll through the @r.e.m.beauty Instagram page, you’re served a ton of inspiring and out-of-the-box beauty looks. The matte lipsticks and lash and brow-boosting serums have become a cult favourite.

2. Rare Beauty

I really love Selena Gomez, but I don’t think that makes me bias in saying her brand hits all the right marks. Rare Beauty is all about building a safe space for everyone to experiment and enjoy beauty, plus it’s also an extremely personal project for Gomez, who donates a percentage of annual profits to a mental health charity she founded. The products are also genuinely good, and you’ll often find Gomez creating step-by-step beauty tutorial’s on Instagram or Tik Tok using a whole face of Rare Beauty.

After the success of VB’s capsule collections with Estée Lauder we knew we were in for something very special when her very own beauty label launched in 2019––and boy did she deliver. Since then, we’ve been treated to a plethora of eye, lip and face treats plus a skincare collab with Augustinus Bader. All hail, Queen VB.

Having struggled with breakouts for years, Huntington-Whiteley wanted to make sure her products work for all skin types, especially acne-prone skin. In an interview with Elle magazine she explained that authenticity and integrity are also extremely important to her, "I really wanted the brand to stand for something other than pretty products.” Clean and sustainable ingredients are at the forefront of the line up.

In case you haven't noticed, people are sort of obsessed with Selena Gomez's style. Gomez artfully posts many of her favourite looks on her own account, which is currently at 135 million followers and counting. And although she certainly has plenty of high-end designer pieces in her enviable wardrobe, her actual outfit formulas are quite accessible, and she often throws affordable labels in alongside Louis Vuitton and Vetements.

Style Tip: Gomez wore the perfect summer midi dress, which happens to be a best seller at Reformation. (And it's not hard to see why it's so popular.) She teamed the short-sleeve dress with a cosy long cardigan and sneakers, which is the ideal styling tip for transitional weather. You can bet we'll be copying this laid-back look from head to toe.

In 2017, the most powerful players in the fashion industry weren't only major fashion houses. We also saw the rise of smaller up-and-coming labels with cult followings and waiting lists reminiscent of the queues for the Mulberry Alexa handbag. French brand Rouje, founded by street style star Jeanne Damas, has since acquired a massive following, with many of the brand's pieces selling out within hours on its website.

Selena Gomez has also bought into the Rouje hype this year, recently donning many of the brand's signature pieces. She's worn both the navy and the red printed Gabin dress, which has a wrap effectin the front and delicate white buttons on the left side. Other pieces she loves? The brand's spotted navy wrap blouse and a baby-blue button-front short-sleeve summer dress. Boots have long been the reigning shoe style for autumn, with ankle boots becoming a particular favourite of It girls. But this season, Selena Gomez has been endorsing a different shoe style for all her autumnal stylings. Selena Gomez had proved over and over that she's a major fashion player. From her knockout ensembles at the Met Gala (and every other red carpet) to working with the likes of Louis Vuitton and Coach, she also knows how to look good in her downtime. As the face of Coach, Selena Gomez gets her hands on the new season first, and yesterday in Los Angeles she wore 2017's answer to the dinosaur jumper. Our favourite outfit of the bunch was an off-duty look we want to wear to our next brunch date. She paired a pink mini J.W. Selena Gomez recently became the face of Coach, and yesterday she made a surprise visit to a high school in Los Angeles with the brand. While her rose-print Coach bomber jacket caught our attention, it's her jeans that really got us talking in the Who What Wear office, as they remind us of our own secondary-school style.

Selena wore a pair of tight, cropped slim-leg jeans, which were several inches above her ankle, making them more of a pedal-pusher than most of the current cropped jeans that fall on the ankle. Remember them? This could well be a sign that pedal-pushers are set to be another '00s forgotten trend that's making a comeback, along with Von Dutch caps, going-out tops and low-slung jeans.

While 2017 has been somewhat dominated by talk of skinny jeans, Selena Gomez is endorsing an alternate denim trend (and a specific pair of jeans) that celebrities were quick to add to their wardrobes in 2016—Frame's Le Mix deconstructed cropped jeans. The jeans have been worn by the likes of stylish It girls Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Kate Bosworth, Emily Ratajkowski, Emma Roberts and Lily Aldridge. And based on Gomez's airport look yesterday, it seems that she's joined the fan club of the popular style. 

Frame was one of the first denim brands to design jeans encompassing the piecey patchwork trend (post-Vetements), and a slew of others quickly followed suit, making it one of the top trends of 2016. While denim trends can come and go in the blink of an eye, based on how closely the world watches Gomez's style, we predict that this one is sticking around for the foreseeable future. To complete her look, she paired the trendy jeans with a Gigi Hadid–esque combination of a crop top, bomber jacket and slingback pumps.

Selena Gomez confirmed on her coffee run in Los Angeles yesterday that dinosaurs are having a moment. Yes, dinosaurs. According to Lyst, searches for the word dinosaur are up 43% month on month, with traffic to dinosaur-themed clothing soaring by 52%, which has a lot to do with the Dino Coach jumper Selena wore yesterday. Ross Geller would be so proud.

Selena paired her navy blue Coach jumper (which is now sold out) with Vetements distressed jeans, rose-coloured glasses and suede Kurt Geiger court shoes. We particularly like how she layered a thin white rollneck underneath her geeky Coach crewneck.

According to Lyst, dinos are the third-most popular species in the fashion animal kingdom, as elephants are currently the most sought-after animal thanks to Loewe's elephant bags, followed by roosters.

All three of these ladies have worn the It brand, which is London based, with a variety of looks this year, proving that black ankle boots just might be the most versatile accessory you can possibly own.

But these A-listers aren't the only fans of the cult boot. Selena Gomez also loves them, and she might have just shown us the best way to wear them so far. Her all-black ensemble consisted of a long black jacket, a long shirt, and the boots. We also love how she added some contrast with her white Louis Vuitton Sofia Coppola Bag (£2700).
