Sometimes a runway show unfolds like a friend telling you a story: layers of juice building to a climax with a piece of gossip so titillating, so deeply satisfying, that you feel gleeful for days. Celine’s spring/summer 2026 collection made me feel similarly, except instead of informational nuggets, it expounded on a delightful something else: the neck.

First, a string of beads that dipped in and out of a sky-blue collar. Then, another necklace, this time composed of so many loops, graduating in size, that it almost resembled a foulard. Finally, a pussy-bow shirt with the gravitas of a cravat; a creamy swoosh framed by a leather bomber jacket.

By the final look—a shirt with a heightened collar and lapels the size of tortilla chips—it was official: the "nécolletage" is the area. This was echoed outside the shows, where street-stylers embraced a more-is-more approach to nécolletage dressing, from brooches arranged in a constellation to embellished collars that were necklace-like but required zero effort. Forget weighing down your ear lobes and give your wrists a break from bangles—for S/S 26, you only need to consider your neck.

Style Notes: Lemaire’s Castanet necklace (a compact mirror shaped like the percussion instrument), leather tags attached to lengths of cord, pendants ranging from pouches to perfume bottles; necklaces have become something bigger than adornment. Tory Burch’s autumn/winter 2026 show featured armoured fish necklaces, each pendant the size of a sardine, whilst for S/S 26, Chanel moved on from pearls, teaming its tweed with ropes of tubular beads. It’s less about a necklace for the sake of a necklace. Instead, it’s storytelling through your neckwear; curated strands that look as though they could have been lifted from a museum’s cabinet of curiosities. The goal is a family of unusual pendants—Alighieri’s wax-cast example conceals a secret looking glass—to add layers of interest to any outfit.

2. The Silk Scarf

Style Notes: A silk scarf, looped then knotted around the neck, might initially feel like a stuffy old-world accessory, but, according to the runways of Acne Studios, Bottega Veneta and Celine, there’s nothing fuddy-duddy about it. Richard E. Grant even wore one to walk for Miu Miu, a geometric square of silk tucked into a half-zip knit with the collar popped. This is the gentleman’s (or woman’s) take on nécolletage dressing, and any charity shop or vintage emporium will have oodles of silk scarves to choose from. In fact, something slightly crushed or weathered by age will look right at home next to similarly lived-in leather or suede.

3. Brooches

Style Notes: A cluster of brooches on a lapel, or even one statement pin threaded onto a cape or fastened around a sleeve, has become another way to personalise your, well, person. Safety pins that dangled with beads and crystallised hunks were spotted at London Fashion Week, whilst oversized initials appeared in Milan—a fun way to ensure everyone remembers your name. Modern jewellers are filling out their collections with brooches, including Georg Jensen, CompletedWorks and Lié Studio, whose spiralised pin, sized to sit diagonally on a blazer’s lapel, is perfect if you don’t want to dress your ears, but your clothes.

4. Embellished Collars

Style Notes: An encrusted collar does all the work for you, giving your nécolletage some frost without having to lift a finger. Outside Prada, Elva Ni wore the brand’s satin minidress sporting its own beaded choker, both in sugary macaron shades, but a more everyday route might be a knit. Tory Burch’s short-sleeved grey sweater has been threaded with silver—everything from triangular paillettes to faceted beads and dinky hoops—elevating an otherwise humble jumper with embellishment worthy of a magpie's nest.

Style Notes: Ties are not a new entry into the world of accessories, but instead of a corporate-adjacent style (worn almost ironically with something like a patent wiggle skirt), they’ve embraced a different aesthetic for spring 2026. Brash retro prints—the kind you might find in a grandparent’s attic or lining a boot-sale table —are back on the streets, whether polka-dotted (and paired with faux fur) or exhibiting sofa-cushion florals. Paul Smith’s uprooted bulb is suitably whimsical, as is the leopard-spotted leather iteration by Bottega Veneta. Once you’ve found your plus one, experiment with shirts. Elongated lapels could be fun, or an undone first button like you’ve just clocked off.

Since returning from the whirlwind that was Copenhagen Fashion Week, I've been ruminating on all the wonderful things I saw, not only on the runways, but on the streets, too. The city has become a real hotbed for emerging trends and cutting-edge designers (hello, Anne Sofie Madsen, Nicklas Skovgaard and OpéraSport!), and being in the thick of it all was not only exciting but exceedingly eye-opening.

Copenhagen is full of style mavericks, people pushing fashion boundaries and many an early adopter. And with those same people attending the shows, it's like art imitating life.

As an eagle-eyed stylist and savvy shopper, I've come away with a real hit list of hacks, styling ideas and clever ways to wear clothes and accessories now, which I'm banking on using for my own looks. And because I don't gatekeep, I thought it best to share them with you, too, dear reader. 1. Combine Leather and Lace

Style Notes: This pretty trend is set to dominate this spring, and the chicest dressers in Copenhagen have already caught on. Lace is the fabric and finish in question, but more interestingly, I saw it combined with glossy leather for a look equal parts soft and tough. Models walking for The Garment show wore classic tailored trousers, leather bomber jackets and sweet lace foulards tied around their shoulders, whilst at OpéraSport, I spotted a look consisting of a chocolate leather blazer, a white, lace-trimmed dress and bow-embellished pumps—just the kind of look I want to emulate this spring.

On the chilly streets, the best dressers mixed classic black leather outerwear, such as funnel-neck jackets and nipped-in blazers, with hints of bright white lace peeking out from underneath, or delicate stoles wrapped around their shoulders. This charming trend is easy to master: a trusty leather jacket combined with a delicately trimmed skirt, dress or scolloped scarf is the way to do it for spring.

2. Double Your Belts

Style Notes: I thought I was seeing double, and, as it turns out, I was. I couldn't help noticing this styling hack on both the runways and the bitter streets of the city, and not only is it elegant, but it's pretty practical too. Belts worn in pairs cinch knitwear, trousers, miniskirts and flowing gowns, giving a waisted fit and feel.

At Anne Sofie Madsen, two chunky brown leather belts nipped in a black, flowing, sleeveless gown, finished with a cosy fringe scarf and shearling Ugg boots. Over at Paolina Russo, school-uniform-like attire was subverted with low-slung waist belts in contrasting fabrics and colours, for a pop-punk look once pioneered by Avril Lavigne. Street-style stars took things up a notch, threading their double belts through winter-white denim and over the top of colour-pop cardis. Opt for belts in similar hues and cross them over or even double-tuck the ends, or, if you're feeling spicy, choose contrasting colours or textures.

3. Wear All Your White at Once

Style Notes: If you're a coffee drinker, scroll on now, as this vibe won't bode well for you. Copenhagen was giving serious blizzard at the start of the fashion week proceedings, and designers and street-style stars alike took note of the snowy hue that cascaded over the city. I spotted head-to-toe white looks outside every show, with fashion people matching their pillbox hats, capes, fur coats, trousers, skirts, tights, handbags and shoes in the tone Pantone is calling Cloud Dancer for 2026.

On the runways, Holzweiler and The Garment also provided palette cleansers, with frothy and ethereal layered looks all in similarly fresh and chalky hues. This styling technique is simple to imitate: pick all your items in the same colourless hue. Not only does it look extremely opulent, but it takes the mental gymnastics out of getting dressed in the morning.

4. Top It Off With a Chic Hat

Style Notes: I, for one, am already head over heels for this fashion hack, as it just adds a knowingly stylish finish to any look, and my love affair with a certain leopard-print number is already well documented. Trust me: topping your look with a chic hat, may that be a pillbox style, a shearling fisherman shape or a beret, will take your ensemble from zero to 100 in a heartbeat.

The streets of CPH were inundated with both minimalist and maximalist dressers alike, donning weird and wonderful headwear, significantly influenced by the sub-zero temperatures and the bitter winds that take over the Danish capital this time of year. Inside, away from the treacherous weather, designers such as OpéraSport, Rave Review, The Garment and Henrik Vibskov topped runway looks with artful felted hats, shearling designs, nylon beanies, aviator hats and fuzzy trappers, suitably equipped for the autumn/winter 2026 season. However, you can pinch this look now for the very present cold snap.

5. Clash Your Gloves

Style Notes: We've seen an uptick in all things hats, scarves and hosiery for several months, and so the next It item to undergo a style revival is the humble glove. The spring/summer 2026 shows were awash with them in bright colours, satin styles and elongated shapes, and this trend continues to ring true for autumn/winter on the streets and in the designer collections of Copenhagen. To level things up, however, the showgoers in CPH weren't going about their gauntlets gracefully. Instead, they opted for eye-popping colours and clashed them with other accessories to stunning effect.

Nicklas Skovgaard's paper-doll-like models wore pairs in kalidoscopic hues, with each model donning pop-colour, ruched leather gloves that were purposefully at odds with the pastel-toned, satin Hoff trainers. The Garment used cobalt-toned, long leather gloves in an ensemble which also featured zebra-print heeled pumps, for a striking evening look. On the cobbled streets, the sharpest of dressers picked opposing tones on the colour wheel for their gloves and corresponding accessories, favouring cool blues, teals, vibrant violets and royal purples to mix and match their accoutrements. 6. Finish It All With a Statement Earring

Style Notes: Jewellery is always a fabulous finishing touch to a look, and can add a decadent shine to even the simplest of outfits. Good job, then, that I spotted an assortment of great earrings in Copenhagen, a city full of fine jewellery connoisseurs. Predominantly, I noticed silver as the hardware of choice, which gave an elegant, grown-up finish to both runway and street-style looks, possessing a minimalist mood. I spotted attendees adorned in tassel-drop earrings, as well as vintage-feeling square shapes, pairing exquisitely with pillbox hats and statement outerwear.

The designer collections also delivered the goods, tapping jewellery specialists to collaborate on adorning the models for their runways. Most notably, MKDT Studio worked with local jewellers Kinraden to create wearable works of art, such as molten drop earrings, single hoops and dome-like pendants, which swung singularly on the ear.

Herskind collaborated with New York-based jewellery brand Agmes on organic-shaped earrings, mariner link pieces, oversized singular hoop structures and petal-like forms, worn with silver cuffs and pendant necklaces. Take note: silver is the precious metal du jour, but keep it pared-back, simple and chic so as to not overpower it.

7. Toss Your Scarf Backwards

Style Notes: Sometimes, the most effortless of styling hacks is using something totally innocuous and wearing it in an entirely fresh way. Take the scarf. I have seen a steep rise in oversized styles, which are being thrown over shoulders backwards to resemble capes, adding serious drama points to a look.

Both on the icy streets and in the hallowed halls of showspaces, models and influencers alike wore XXL scarves over floor-skimming outerwear and jackets, not only protecting them from the elements, but adding serious swish factor. Plaid checks, fringed football scarves, shearling stoles and even sultry lengths of glossy leather were the fabrics of choice for the autumn/winter 2026 season, and what’s more, the styling options are limitless. The shape is often rendered in knitted fabrics, serving as a versatile and sophisticated addition to humble winter wardrobes.

Amid freezing cold temperatures, piecing together an intriguing outfit often falls to the wayside in favour of prioritising warmth and thermal comfort. Triangle scarves not only behave as a snug layer against harsh, crisp winds and light showers, but also as a more considered way of rugging up against the elements.

Recently, while attending the spring/summer season of Paris Fashion Week, Kendall Jenner proved this point entirely.

Stepping out during a brisk morning in the French capital, the model and mogul accented her monochromatic grey pencil skirt and trench coat outfit from The Row with a bordeaux-coloured triangle scarf from Almina Concept. Scotland-born, Amsterdam-based content creator Hollie Mercedes has also brought this more mature style to a younger generation with the triangle scarves created under her knitwear label Clòimh. “Incorporating different shapes, textures, and layers instantly adds depth and dimension to an outfit,” Ghang says. “With minimalist dressing in particular, a triangle scarf is the perfect finishing touch; it’s simple yet striking. Whether draped over the shoulders or tied at the waist or neck, it brings a subtle sophistication that elevates even the most pared-back look.”

How to Style a Triangle Scarf

There are really no rules for wearing triangle scarves—style them like Michael Ryder's debut collection for Celine under prim collared shirts or take a leaf from Alexa Chung's book and wrap them around your waist for an obvious textural play. However, speaking to the experts, it's not how you wear them that matters, but where you wear them.

"Wearing it tied around the head feels very intentional," says Ghang. "It signals thoughtfulness in layering and styling, giving the impression of a complete, considered look. On the other hand, wearing around your waist tells a different story. "We love wrapping it around the waist for an effortless draping detail—it’s a modern, unexpected way to add movement to your outfit," she continues.

A third option arises when you consider tying it around your shoulder, like you would a cardigan or a jumper. Of course, if you already have the latter layering around, it's worth testing the versatility of the trend this way before purchasing your own. But a fair warning—once you do, you will be completely hooked. This is something I learned first-hand after a recent trip to Oslo and stocking up on a few triangle scarves from local brands like Dale of Norway and Envelope 1976. After never really seeing the elegance and refinement inherent to the style, I am now totally besotted with wearing triangle scarves on any and all occasions.

According to Ghang, there are three things you should keep an eye out for when purchasing a triangle scarf. "Material, colour and length are key," she explains. "The scarf can be worn around the head, shoulders, or waist, making it a truly multifunctional accessory," she adds, so you really want the piece you choose to serve every single setting.

So while petite silk scarves and bandanas are great for summer when you want to wear little material, they don't really transition to winter wear that well, given their smaller surface area. On the other hand, you don't want a style so large that it makes you look like you're walking around with a duvet cover around you. (Though there is a certain merit to that, too.)

It's funny how it always seems to be the seemingly "boring" purchases that become the ones we rely on the most—just think of items such as underwear, pyjamas, and glasses. As boring as it might seem, I would recommend investing a bit of time the next time you go hunting for a new scarf. The puffer is one of the newer additions to the scarf line-up, which is unsurprising considering the puffer jacket is having a moment in the spotlight. Oh so cosy.

Cashmere

A cashmere scarf is a timeless buy that will never let you down in the wardrobe department. Mulberry does some great styles. However, there are plenty to be found on the high street. 

Classic Check

For a little hit of heritage, why not experiment with a check? Arket's check wool scarf was born to be worn with a colour-match camel coat, while Burberry's iconic check is sure to offer fashion kudos to wintery basics.

Neutrals

It's a story as old as time. Girl sees designer item she cannot afford, girl subsequently falls in love and saves for an entire year to make it hers, and the two live happily ever after. Of course, in this somewhat autobiographical tale, the girl was a 16-year-old me, and the designer item in question was a beautiful, hand-illustrated Fendi silk scarf that I saw in an airport. I worked a very unglamorous job at a local bakery in order to afford it, and honestly, every single flour-covered hour was worth it. 

As far as designer purchases go, I'd say a scarf is the ultimate first luxury buy. You get all the excitement of shopping a designer brand without the eye-wateringly high price of a leather handbag or a ready-to-wear piece. 

Designer scarves are also hugely versatile. Within the first few years of owning mine, I wore it as a necktie, a belt, and a headband. I tied it around handbags as an additional accessory and even folded the scarf in half to fashion it as a top. In the years since, the item has claimed its rightful position as a piece of artwork on my bedroom wall. (The scarf features illustrated images of Fendi Baguette bags in an array of colours, so really, I should have known it was artwork all along.) 

For a first designer purchase, I couldn't recommend a scarf enough, and with each luxury fashion house creating its own unique designs, it can be quite easy to fall in love with a scarf (or two). From timeless monogrammed styles—of which Burberry and Gucci excel—to artfully drawn prints and patterns, keep scrolling to see scarves worth the first investment.

There’s no doubt that hair accessories are having a real moment. From statement hair clips and slides to chic headbands and pretty bows, we’re seeing hair accessories everywhere—and we’re not mad about it. Next up, five hairstyles you’ll spot on the fashion set this year.

I don't know what it is—the weather and the dark mornings perhaps—but right now I'm too lazy to even think about curating my outfits. The cold means I'm reluctant to wear anything but jeans and jumpers, which, after months wearing on repeat, have become somewhat fatigued. 

In an attempt to make my looks more interesting for me to wear and for other people to look at, I decidedly upped my accessories game. I'm not one to blow big bucks on my add-ons, so it was an affordable way to breathe a new lease of life into my daily wares until spring rolls around. 

Now, as my accessory efforts increased over the past few weeks, I've come to find that there are six pieces work colleagues, friends and fellow commuters tend to compliment me on most. Naturally, I respond by saying "Oh thank you! These/It's from [insert high-street store here]" to which they always act surprised. "Really?" they'd gasp. "They/It looks so much more expensive." 

Indeed, I seem to have unknowingly cracked the code to looking fancy and flush when, in reality, I'm still penny-scrimping post-Christmas, and it's all thanks to these key items. Style Notes: Pearls may be one of this season's top jewellery trends, but I've always been a long-standing fan. A string of them can sometimes look stuffy, so I opt for drop earrings instead. Worn with a camel knit and neutral shades, no-one will know these beauties aren't freshwater.

4. MOCK CROC SHOES

Style Notes: Commonplace on handbags it may be but mock croc is fast becoming an It material on shoes too. They're effortlessly elegant—use them to add polish to ripped jeans, miniskirts and floral frocks.

5. CAT-EYE SUNGLASSES

Style Notes: Nothing makes you look like an uptown girl quite like a pair of cat-eye sunglasses. However, I never spend a lot on eyewear as, around me, they never seem to last long. Handily, the high street always has a plethora of pairs on offer.

6. HAIR SLIDES

Style Notes: Their appeal of the hair slide is as such: You don't have to spend hours on your hair to make it look incredible—simply slide one (or five) into your tresses and you'll look like you've spent the majority of the day in the salon. Salons = expensive = the rich-girl illusion remains intact.

There are loads of items you can get away with buying on the cheap. For example, a £40 pair of espadrilles is no more resistant to being beaten up during one summer's wear than a £400 pair is. The same goes for a Breton top—no one will ever really know whether yours is from an expensive French brand or your local Topshop. Similarly, basket bags, statement earrings, sunglasses (so long as they're UVA/UVB compliant) and other short-lived accessory trends are best to buy on the high street. Sure, higher price tags will guarantee better quality and promote a more conscious shopping approach (very important), but I believe there are certain items that are more worthy of your cash/credit/soul because they really do last, fit better, feel better and never go out of fashion.

In my twenties, it wouldn't have bothered me, but now that I've seen enough fast-fashion items end up in charity shops, I've realised that buying quality accessories isn't just a myth fashion people peddle—it really makes a difference to one's forever closet. Clothing trends can be slightly more transient, but a decent add-on tends to offer unparalleled longevity. So keep reading to see the accessories I'd suggest you never scrimp on and the versions for each that are best in class for 2018.

Gold Hoops

There are plenty of brilliant cheap gold earrings out there in the world, but knowing that you have a pair that will literally last you an entire lifetime is pretty special. They never go out of style and you can wear them every day, so the cost-per-wear value (as well as not breaking or causing green ears) is pretty good too.

Loafers

One of the worst fashion mishaps is when a pair of flat shoes cut your feet to shreds. Which is why a decent pair of leather loafers (and right now it's all about Bally's impeccably well-made ones) will serve you for years to come. Keep them protected with the right leather creams and get them re-soled whenever required.

Anything Monogrammed

There are two sides to this argument. Firstly, it's not good to buy counterfeit goods. Secondly, the logo trend has led some high-street brands to create their own similar-looking in-house logos… a bit questionable, perhaps?

Silk Scarves

You may disagree on this one, but coming from a scarf addict and connoisseur, you can see the difference between a cheap scarf and one that has been rendered in silk and expertly printed and designed. These little outfit-transformers can work year after year (in tons of ways), so you may as well find one that can go the distance.

Logo Belt

Belts (particularly those with logos) do not look good when they're made out of low-end leather and cheap fastenings. In this case, save your money for the good stuff. We know some women who wear their mother's vintage Gucci logo belts because the quality has lasted them decades.

Tan Bag

What is it about cheap tan bags that look so, well, cheap? I'm not sure what this boils down to, but since this piece is a capsule wardrobe must-have, I would say it's well worth saving up for a top-notch version.

There’s no one way to wear a headscarf: In fact, we’ve counted at least seven stylish knotting, tying and looping techniques that you may want to explore, should this be your next styling mountain to climb. 3. The topknot

Style Notes: Part turban, part headband, this is a cuter take on the more adventurous turban seen below. It’s particularly good if you want to look a little boho—I’d suggest adding earrings and/or sunglasses and wearing your hair loose. Best achieved with a skinny scarf.

4. The Turban

Style Notes: For the more outré fashion lovers with access to bigger scarves and dexterous hands, this is the headscarf action to implement for parties. Catherine Baba (the stylist who navigates Paris on a bicycle in Saint Laurent heels—pictured above) should be your spirit guide for getting it wrap. This is all about wrapping and pinning in place.

5. The Bandana Triangle

Style Notes: This can err on noughties territory when worn at the front of your forehead (or with a smaller bandana-print scarf), so it’s chicer to pick a silver foulard and wear it further back on your head like Cipriana Quann has done here.

6. The Pony

Style Notes: This scarf-styling idea ruled summer 2017—simply grab a mini silk or cotton scarf, and knot it into a bow around any ponytail or bun for cute-girl brownie points. Who says scarves can’t be for saving bad hair days, eh?

Style Notes: Originally a wrap-and-go style for Hollywood starlets travelling in style, this retro scarf-tying look has been adopted by fashion girls such as Miroslava Duma.

Elevate your go-to pair of trousers with a shearling coat and printed scarf tied in a knot around the neck. For a retro-inspired twist on this look, take a cue from Diletta Bonaiuti and choose darkened neutrals and pretty earth tones.

Rather than being based on what you actually own, or how much you can constantly afford to buy, looking truly stylish does comes down to styling. It's those little (often free) details that can shift from year to year, or season to season, and therefore it's good to stay on top of them. Like, how you tuck a shirt in. Or combine a blazer with jeans. What length your skinny jean hems sit at. How to wear your scarf. And the latter is what we're here to talk about today because after a relatively mild winter things are feeling glacial, and it's time our trusty knitted and woolen scarves were allowed out of hibernation. 

I don't believe there's a need to purchase a new scarf unless yours somehow doesn't fulfill its purpose of keeping you warm (in which case, a mystery!), but there are new ways to wear this cold-weather staple to make it feel oh-so-2019. For inspiration, we've looked to influencers who are embracing what winter wardrobes have to offer and taking outfit pictures outside, complete with that final flourish—an artfully wrapped, knotted, looped, draped, caped or belted scarf.

There are more advanced options should you want to be truly dedicated to a "look" as well as simple scarf-styling ideas that you'll probably be already doing automatically—only now you just get a big fat fashion seal of approval. We're feeling warmer, and chicer, already.

Loop around the neck once and leave one long end draped forward, with the other over one shoulder—and you have a very chic, streamlined effect. Extra points if you have a matching jumper, like Jeanette.

This also works well with larger scarves where you can create a gap between your neck and the swooshed front of the scarf—great if you tend to overheat or are wearing a roll-neck (or necklace you'd like to show off).

Less of a keeping-you-warm move and more of a look-at-my-new-scarf option, simply throw your favourite scarf over a coat or jumper and leave it open.

There's something particularly rich-looking about this move, especially when in soft neutral tones like Lorna's combination here.

Not to be done with a chunky woolen scarf, but very useful for keeping your ears and head toasty in the colder months, a silk (or other fabric) foulard knotted around your chin has come back into fashion. Linda's Rika scarf is inspired by Jackie O—how chic.

Perhaps the easiest and most natural of them all, here's the classic wrap-around-the-neck move, leaving the two ends of your scarf dangling at the front.

If you've got an extra-long scarf, wrap it around your neck twice for a doubly cold-fighting barrier.

Not technically a scarf, but acting up as one, many girls are using this double-jumper trick as a neat/cosy styling trick for winter.

Some jumpers come with scarves attached, but you can easily replicate this with a couple of tonally-matched affordable knits from, say, Uniqlo.

Got a scarf bigger than the square footage of your flat? Then you'll want to simply drape it over your shoulders as a cape, rather than wrap it around and feel like the Michelin man.

Cape-scarves work particularly well with trousers and suiting—add them to a dress and they can look a little boho 2004.

Proving to be a popular scarf style choice among the Scandi set, this styling move is essentially the same as the wraparound, only you're using a square-shaped scarf, which means a triangle forms at the front.

Want to make a real statement? Then this is the scarf styling trick to replicate: Fasten a one-sided statement jumbo-scarf in place with a belt.

It adds interest to a worn-out winter coat, as well as reining in a roomier, oversized silhouette with a bit of waist nipping.

There are so many easy styling tricks to help transition your wardrobe to spring, but one of my favourites is a big, bright scarf. The fabric is key here; you'll get the most wear out of lightweight, airy versions in silk, cashmere, and cotton, rather than heavy-duty wool styles. The best part of this bold layering piece is that it will not only cheer up your black coat during the still bitter days of winter, but when the weather finally warms up, they're an ideal pick for the beach, on the plane, and all those summer music festivals too. A no-brainer for accessorizing, scarves with punchy neon hues and lively prints are a closet necessity. Check out my top five picks below.

Fig & Bella Classic Cashmere Scarf ($169) in Yellow I'm seeing primary colours everywhere right now and love the idea of incorporating a splash of sunshine into a grey-hued ensemble. For a more affordable substitute, try Nordstrom's Linen Blend Scarf ($28), which is available in a range of cheery hues from Primrose Yellow to Blue Palace.

Gap Bright Floral Scarf ($30) in Neon Coral Ditsy florals give this scarf that bouncy springtime feel I'm looking for right now. For nights out, I would balance the print with a black biker jacket.

J. Crew Bazaar Scarf ($65) in Green Prairie I can't get enough of the patchwork trend and this scarf offers a chic and manageable way to try the look.

Athena Procopiou Marrakech Printed Modal and Silk-Blend Scarf ($396, available March) I stumbled upon this European scarf designer while browsing Net-a-Porter.com and am obsessed. When I'm not wearing this one around my neck, I will tie it to my bag. I'm also a fan of Willow Knows' Silk Habotai Wrap Scarf ($140), which features a similar marble effect.

Ace & Jig Provincial Scarf Colorway ($120, 323.669.1601) in Mango With just a pop of colour, this scarf is the perfect everyday option. I'd wear it with a blue oxford shirt and boyfriend jeans.
