We’re into that funny time of year when it’s not quite warm and it’s not quite time to layer up for winter. (Autumn. That’ll be it.) And although we love this season for the leaves (the leaves!), transitional dressing can be difficult. But let’s look at the positives: It’s the perfect temperature for wearing a blazer without a coat over it, you can still wear a dress with chunky boots and no tights, and if you go out for the evening you can get away with a slinky outfit (and maybe a leather jacket) without the risk of freezing.

Luckily, Nasty Gal has just launched a new drop of transitional pieces, and it’s as if the brand knew we were in need of inspiration. There’s a healthy dose of cosy autumn staples, including some perfect knit dresses, relaxed tailored suits and a grey coat just begging to be taken on all those crisp walks. Set in a palette of neutrals with hints of sage, burgundy and denim thrown in for good style measure, this hardworking capsule sits under Nasty Gal's recently launched All Things Considered initiative.

We're also impressed by the collection's accompanying shoot, which sees Ceballos style up the pared-back pieces to seriously chic avail. While I would hardly call myself a loungewear enthusiast, the recent time spent at home has almost been enough to change my mind. Historically, I have never prioritised the need for elevated or polished-looking loungewear, choosing to instead spend my money on clothing I'd wear outside of the house. Up until now (I am embarrassed to admit), I have resorted to mostly wearing loungewear in the form of tattered joggers and oversize T-shirts, though there's nothing like a lockdown to help change my mind.

Next up, the biggest S/S 20 fashion trends you need to know. 

It might feel a little early to think about party dressing, but considering how quickly the last two months have flown by, you know that December will creep up on us, and it'll be New Years before we know it (not to freak you out or anything.) But, really, we're always up for an excuse to get dressed up and we secretly can't wait for sequin season, which is why we were beside ourselves when we saw Nasty Gal's latest drop.

Jewellery is a great way to update your wardrobe every season. You can easily find great pieces without spending a fortune.

I'm personally a big denim wearer. I don't care what brand I'm wearing, as long as they have a great fit. I've spent way under $100 on some of my favourites pairs of jeans.

I can never have enough white tops in a wide variety of styles. They're something you can wear all year-round. If I love one, often I'll pick up two in different sizes: one for a true fit and the other larger one for an oversized boyfriend or tunic feel. White tops are very versatile and usually quite affordable.

I love a T-shirt that has texture and feels more elevated, but at the same time is extremely easy and comfortable for everyday wear. I stock up on linen and linen-cotton blend T-shirts for that reason. You can certainly find these for a great price in a variety of sleeve lengths, colours, and prints.

Call us crazy, but we list dressing like Mary-Kate and Ashley as a life goal up there with getting in shape and travelling the world. Accordingly, we were delighted when we came across a blogger whose oversized, lived-in outfits inspired the same sort of admiration usually reserved for a standout Olsen ensemble.
