I spend a significant amount of time scouring the web for pieces worth sharing, and although I always try and bring a selection of the finest things the internet has to offer to the fore, be they from independent labels or French fashion houses, there's one place I can always rely on for inspiration: Net-A-Porter.

It’s one of my favourite shopping destinations for premium buys, seamlessly combining high-end pieces, quality basics and luxe homeware for the discerning shopper. Its curation is exceptional and its buyer picks are apt when it comes to aspiration and quality for the customer who shops investment pieces.

My favourite time for browsing is pre-autumn. I have an affinity for dresses and prefer to invest in styles I’ll have for a lifetime, so seeing versatile frocks arrive on Net-A-Porter always fills me with joy. My favourite brands to peruse right now are Ninety Percent, TOVE, By Malene Birger, Bondi Born and Faithfull the Brand, the latter of which has gifted us a sleek collaboration with stylist and fellow Who What Wear columnist Monikh Dale, and it's one to covet.

The collection comprises ‘70s-inspired apparel, featuring chic but easy-to-wear styles awash with rich Mediterranean tones. Having just emerged from a heatwave, it’s safe to say we’re firmly in summer shopping mode. Light jackets and transitional layers have been shelved in favour of breezy ensembles and effortless two-piece sets. Summer has always been my favourite season for fashion — there’s a nostalgic joy in holiday dressing, and a laid-back ease that invites simplicity. As temperatures soar and layers are stripped back, styling becomes more intentional yet refreshingly fuss-free. If you asked any fashion person what designer they’d choose if they could only wear one brand all summer, I think I know what they’d say. And no, it’s not something flashy like Valentino or Chanel—I’m thinking the answer would be a little more low-key.

After all, Matteau is the independent Australian brand so many editors, influencers and celebrities are straight-up obsessed with right now. So much so that it’s difficult to scroll through my fashionable Insta feed at any given time without coming across the brand’s signature pieces. Not that you’d even realise it. You may already be familiar with the brand thanks to that cult silk shirt that stole the hearts of so many of us last summer and that’s back again in a number of different prints this year too. But it’s Matteau’s focus on creating timeless and versatile pieces that last way beyond one season that has me thinking this is a brand we’ll be talking about for many years to come. 

The airy dresses are perfect for styling not only alongside bare feet on the sand but also on hot days in the city—the key to a true summer wardrobe hero. If there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that I’m a dress person through and through. I’d say a hefty 80% of my wardrobe consists of them, and while there are certain shapes and fits I’m drawn to more than others (I’m looking at you, floaty, puff-sleeved numbers) I’m definitely not fussy when it comes to dress styles.
