All throughout my primary school days, I wore a uniform, and part of that uniform stated that I could only wear shoes in one of three colours: black, brown, and navy. As the fashion contrarian I am (and always have been), I chose the latter, a choice that put me at odds with basically everyone at my school. It didn't matter, though. The outfit could've easily been worn with trainers, but her choice of footwear added a sense of formality to it that trainers wouldn't have. At last, we've entered my favourite season to dress for. The ease of dressing in the summer months has always drawn me in, simply calling upon three or maybe four items to put together a chic look. Whilst I've often proclaimed my adoration for a tailored linen set, there's nothing quite like the simplicity of throwing on a pretty dress, adding sandals and a basket bag and heading out into the sunshine. If you, like me, haven't touched your collection of miniskirts this summer and are giving far too much attention to midi and knee-length styles instead, take this as a sign to snap out of it. Miniskirts are second to none, especially in the summer, and fortunately for those of us who temporarily forgot that, Kaia Gerber just served as a well-timed reminder.
