There have been a number of signs that the Juicy Couture velour tracksuit is making an unlikely comeback… A red Juicy velour jumpsuit featured in the Vetements Couture show at Paris Fashion Week, and Kim Kardashian West wore a Pepto-Bismol pink one on the cover of Wonderland. Juicy Couture closed all of its U.S. stores in 2014, but now the Juicy trackie has gone mainstream once again, as Topshop just dropped an exclusive collection of Juicy Couture tracksuits. 

The collection includes 12 velour tracksuits, ranging from £99 to £160 and are sold online and in the flagship Oxford Circus store. The Juicy Couture 2.0 trackies still have the classic branding, which in the mid-noughties you could spot daily on celebrity sites like TMZ, including the J zipper and Juicy logo written across the bottom and hoods. But they have also had an update for 2017—the colours are a little less Malibu Barbie than their noughties counterparts, with the new version available in khaki, a deep, muted red, black, a grey-blue and a baby pink rather than orange, bright pink and red. 

In 2004, the Juicy tracksuit was Paris Hilton's downtime socialite uniform, and her relationship with the L.A. brand is still ongoing. "I love Juicy sweatsuits—I've never stopped wearing them," she recently told Vogue. "I think they're so comfortable and I love the colours. They're great for travelling or just chilling at your house."

Paris Hilton might be onboard with doing her Starbucks run in head-to-toe JC, but are the rest of us ready for it to be back? It is certainly a divisive look, but given athleisure is the most significant and widespread trend of the last year, perhaps the return of the '00s velour suit isn't actually that shocking.

GJELINA

Gjelina is simply one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles, and definitely the hottest spot in Venice Beach on Abbot Kinney. Reservations are hard to come by, so many locals opt to snag the perfect slice of pizza or a trio of sides at their adjoining Take-Away annex and plop down on a milk crate in the shady side-courtyard. Plus, the people watching is so Juicy!
