Editor review: Out of the three Glossier scents, You Doux might just be my favourite. Molecule 01 famously isolates the synthetic skin scent molecule, Iso E Super. Developed in 1973, it smells softly musky and woody, but stays close to the skin and is only occasionally detectable by the wearer, despite drawing compliments from those nearby. On days when I’m feeling preemptively headachey, I wear this.

If you’re keen to try a Byredo perfume but don’t know where to start, look no further than Gypsy Water. Part citrus and part woody, it’s somehow simultaneously fresh and smoky thanks to a delicate melding of bergamot, juniper, lemon, pepper, pine, amber and sandalwood. 

Although sweet and vanilla-based scents are often noted as migraine triggers, many of those who reached out to me mentioned Diptyque Eau Duelle. Perhaps because the sweet vanilla is balanced out with crisper notes of spicy pink peppercorn and papery cypriol. "I love Diptyque Eau Duelle,” says one follower. "It’s not heavy once it’s settled on the skin. No migraine triggers at all.”

Like Molecule 01, Missing Person is a skin scent. In fact, it’s inspired by the lingering scent of a loved one’s skin. This was the most popular perfume with the migraine sufferers who reached out to me on Instagram and also happens to be one of my favourites. Formulated to smell like your skin but better, it’s light and intimate but has a little bit more body than some of the other fragrances in this list thanks to louder notes of iris and pepper.

"This is the one perfume I can wear easily all day,” says a follower who previously couldn’t wear fragrance at all due to her frequent migraine attacks. "It’s fresh and light, a proper ‘clean girl’ scent without any powdery notes. I love it because it’s mellow and wraps around me without triggering the slightest headache.”

Light and airy, this vibrant green fragrance is fresh and uplifting but not overpowering—a great floral for migraine sufferers. Bergamot and iris are the dominant notes, while vetiver, oakmoss and leather add a woody warmth.

Juniper, black pepper and vetiver combine to form this gin-and-tonic-inspired scent that warms subtly on the skin. Since it’s neither musky, floral or woody, it doesn’t fit into any of the traditional fragrance categories. Instead, it’s familiar, wearable and quite unique, which in my opinion makes it a must-try for migraine sufferers.

I recently discovered Aesop’s newest fragrance, Eidesis and have struggled to wear anything else since. It’s the most subtle of Aesop’s perfumes, but extremely addictive and alluring. It is a unisex fragrance, so there’s a touch of spiciness (thanks to notes of black pepper and cumin) but cosy cedar and vetiver round it out.

There are over a hundred Jo Malone perfumes, which can make choosing one quite an overwhelming decision. However, several of my Instagram followers suggested this one, and I can also personally vouch for it. It’s fresh and clean (without being sterile), the very opposite of sickly and overly sweet scents, which migraine sufferers commonly identify as triggers.

Marc Jacobs’s fragrances received several nominations, in particular Daisy. "It’s not an intensive perfume,” said one follower. "So I can spritz away without feeling like I’m going to trigger a migraine and be in bed all day.” Whispers of violet, grapefruit and strawberry are at the perfume’s forefront while touches of gardenia and jasmine follow, drying down to a musky base.

"I’ve received so many compliments from people when wearing Maison Margiela Whispers in the Library,” says one follower. It’s easy to see why, as this woody, amber scent is light and delicate, designed to evoke time spent in a library filled with old books.

Citrus oils are said to be an effective natural solution for targeting the nausea that often accompanies migraine, so a citrus blend like this—it's sharp and zesty—will be perfect. The fragrance paintbrush applicator is a great option for migraine sufferers since it means you can apply just the lightest touch of scent and target it to a specific area.

I once opened up an incredibly generous mailer from Mugler Angel and triggered a three-day migraine within seconds of opening the box. It's a hugely popular fragrance, and I know this because I smell it frequently when I’m out. It's at once sweet, spicy and fruity, and with strong notes of patchouli, I love it, but it's probably one to avoid if, like me, you suffer from migraines since sweet base notes are often triggers.

I love and wear Chanel No5 and have never experienced any issues with it, but I received several DMs from people who said this was a trigger for them, likely because it’s a very powdery fragrance with traditional floral notes of iris, jasmine and lily of the valley, which are often a no-no for us migraine sufferers.

Another popular submission from followers, Black Opium launched during my fragrance department days. Fans of high-impact, glamorous fragrances will love it, but the strong vanilla and coffee notes may be a trigger for some.

I love this scent. It's powerful, rich and indulgent, perfect for winter, but I also know not to wear it on days when I feel a headache coming on, and several followers mentioned that they too, despite enjoying it, find it frequently triggers migraines. 

Violet Orchid is another scent I adore and used to wear frequently before I realised it was triggering me. It’s the perfect evening fragrance, rich, luxurious and heavy, but unfortunately just a little too heavy for me.

Oud is one note I know will automatically trigger my migraines, no matter how it’s served in a fragrance. While this is a hugely popular fragrance, and wearers claim it has great longevity, it’s best avoided if, like me, you’ve identified oud as a trigger.

Perfumer Jerome Epinette is the nose behind seven iconic Byredo fragrances, including my personal favourite, Bal d’Afrique. The fragrance is inspired by Byredo founder Ben Gorham’s time spent in Africa, and the result is a warm and vibrant concoction of bergamot, marigold, and violet, combined with base notes of cedarwood and vetiver. To me, it smells like a hot summer evening in a bottle.

& Other Stories is one of my favourite brands to shop for affordable fragrance. I’ve never been disappointed by any of their scents, which is no surprise considering that Epinette is the nose behind the majority of them (16 to be precise). Like Bal d’Afrique, Sicilian Sunrise is a specific location and evokes the same feelings of being somewhere warm and sunny, thanks to its blend of citrus and aquatic notes.

Floral Street might be towards the higher end of ‘affordable’ but every single one of the brand’s fragrances are available in travel size rollerballs which clock in just under the £30 mark. Combining coconut, jasmine, black pepper, and musk, Arizona Bloom is just one of nine fragrances Epinette formulated for Floral Street.

Thanks (in part) to TikTok, Baccarat Rouge 540 is one of the most famous perfumes on the market right now. It has notes of saffron, amberwood, fir resin, and cedar, but the allure of this scent is almost possible to convey in words – you really do have to smell it to get it. Just trust me when I say that it’s worth the hype. The nose behind Baccarat Rouge 540 is Francis Kurkdjian himself, who aside from founding his eponymous brand, has also formulated fragrances for brands such as Acqua di Parma, Juliet Has A Gun, Dior, and Guerlain.

Kurkdjian created Green Tea for Elizabeth Arden back in 1999 and it’s been a bestseller ever since. An energising and uplifting fragrance with notes of lemon, mint, rhubarb, fennel, and amber, this affordable fragrance is very different to Baccarat Rouge 540, but just as intriguing.

Described as a ‘floral, woody musk’ this crowd-pleasing fragrance shares some similar notes to Baccarat Rouge 540, including saffron and amber. It’s a favourite of Who What Wear beauty editor Eleanor Vousden, who recommends it to anyone who wants a scent that’s majorly long-lasting.

Perfumer Christian Provenzano is the nose behind scents from luxury brands such as By Kilian, Jo Malone, and Penhaligon’s. In fact, he created Penhaligon’s most iconic scent, Halfeti, which fragrance connoisseurs consider to be a modern classic. Its top notes of cypress, saffron, cardamom, and grapefruit are instantly recognisable, drying down to a lingering haze of oud, leather, and musk.

Also by Provenzano, this sweet and citrusy concoction is warm, feminine, and has rich base notes that mean it also lingers impressively on skin. It’s an intoxicating aroma but also feels sophisticated.

With 25 years of fragrance industry experience and a hugely successful brand (Jo Malone) behind her, fragrancer Jo Malone CBE launched Jo Loves in 2009, a luxury fragrance collection inspired by natural ingredients. Pomelo features just six key notes (pomelo, rose, vetiver, clove, patchouli, and clove). It’s fresh and zesty at first spritz but dries down to something softer and cosier.

In 2019, Jo Malone CBE joined forces with Zara for what became one of the most iconic and successful fragrance collaborations in recent years. The initial collection of eight fragrances has grown in the three years since, but one of the original perfumes, Ebony Wood, remains a favourite. Warm, musky, and woody, this is a perfect winter fragrance. It smells just as good as a Jo Loves scent, but costs a third of the price.

Diptyque is a cult classic brand with a reputation for creating complex, interesting fragrances which truly stand out. In true Diptyque fashion, this is an unconventional rose, sweetened by fruity top notes and grounded by woody base notes of musk, honey, and cedar. The creator? Fabrice Pellegrin, who has contributed niche scents to some of the biggest names in the business, including By Kilian, Penhaligons, Yves Saint Laurent, and Paco Rabanne.

Earlier this year, Pellegrin collaborated with Zara on a collection of four affordable fragrances, each inspired by a different type of forest. I was particularly impressed by Sacred Green Forest, a mossy unisex scent which combines jasmine, ylang-ylang, and incense. It’s every bit as complex and unusual as a fragrance I would expect from a luxury brand like Diptyque.

A smoky and alluring fragrance with major sex appeal, it’s easy to see why Santal 33 is Le Labo’s bestseller - and a cult classic in its own right. Simultaneously seductive and sophisticated, it’s a musky, woody blend which really is as far from a fruity or floral fragrance as it’s possible to be. The nose behind this scent is Frank Voehl, a senior perfumer who has created for other luxury brands (including Boy Smells and Commodity) as well as creating affordable scents for brands such as Zara and Glossier. 

Also warm and musky, Glossier You has many things in common with Santal 33 (notably an impressive longevity). It’s creamy and crisp all at once, somewhat woody, somewhat floral. Although it’s available as an eau de parfum, I’m a huge fan of the solid version. The chic and weighty packaging imparts a more expensive look and feel than the affordable price tag suggests.

Fragrancer Calice Becker is the nose behind a grand total of 41 By Kilian scents, and has also created for Dior, Estee Lauder, Tom Ford, and Marc Jacobs. It’s a tricky task choosing just one By Kilian scent to spotlight, but I settled for Love, Don’t Be Shy, since it’s one of the most luxurious fragrances I’ve ever smelt. A decadent cocktail of marshmallow, amber, neroli, orange blossom, and rose. 

When sweet scents are created for high street brands they can often be a little sickly. Not so when the perfumer is accustomed to creating scents for designer brands and the brand is renowned for its commitment to quality ingredients. Consisting mainly of ‘edible’ scents, including honey, almond, and vanilla, Terre de Lumiere is rich, sweet, and heady.

Luxury brand Tom Ford isn’t known for producing sweet scents, which is probably what makes this one so captivating. In fact, the best word to describe this perfume is ‘intoxicating’, it blends sweet elements of cherry, almond and plum with sensual notes of liquor, rose, and sandalwood. 

Coming from a brand that specialises in skincare, you might not expect the Nuxe fragrances to be as impressive as they are. But smell this with your eyes closed and you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d actually picked up a bottle of Tom Ford perfume. Rich notes of jasmine and patchouli give it an ‘expensive’ edge.

With 182 fragrances to his name (including creations for Acqua di Parma, Givenchy, and Jo Malone), perfumer Michel Almairac is one of the biggest names in the industry. His creation for Le Labo, Ambrette 9, is (in my opinion) one of the brand’s most underrated scents. It’s overwhelmingly musky but with notes of citrus fruit.

Yes, the very same perfumer behind Le Labo Ambrette 9 also created Ghost, one of the most iconic perfumes of all time. This recognisable scent has captivated those who wear it for over twenty years (in my experience, Ghost fans wear nothing else). Despite being considered a classic, it’s surprisingly affordable - a 30ml bottle comes in just below £30.

A bold and modern take on a classic floral, this Gucci bestseller is intense but wearable. With notes of jasmine, tuberose, and rangoon creeper, it’s fresh, green, and ever so slightly powdery.

The mastermind behind Gucci Bloom, Alberto Morillas, is one of a handful of ‘master perfumers’ in the world and widely considered to be one of the best. He also created icons like By Kilian Good Girl Gone Bad, Calvin Klein CK One, and Marc Jacobs Daisy. When it comes to Morillas' more affordable creations however, my favourite is Roger & Gallet’s Gingembre Rouge. It’s an underrated scent with notes of pomegranate, ginger, and orange. I know this sounds like it wouldn’t work, but of course, due to Morillas’ genius, it does.

I've never met an Ex Nihilo fragrance which doesn’t smell expensive. Fleur Narcotique is an alluring fruity floral. It's feminine and mysterious but powerful, and I’d wager that even those who prefer woody, masculine scents will enjoy it.

Ex Nihilo scents may be luxurious and impressive, but they’re far from affordable, which makes it even more exciting when you can find an affordable alternative. Perfumer Quentin Bisch also created Nuxe’s Le Matin de Possibles, a fresh white floral which is my go-to everyday scent for summer.

I live for all the Maison Margiela Replica scents, but especially this one. Crisp and lively, it perfectly encapsulates a carefree stroll on a breezy beach. It’s a timeless scent with gourmand notes of bergamot, lemon, coconut, and musk.

You might not be aware that Caudalie (best known for its skincare) makes perfumes, but it does, and they’re seriously impressive. The nose behind this particular one (and the above), is Jacques Cavallier, a master perfumer with almost 200 creations to his name. The de Vignes has notes of tea, jasmine, grapes, and honey. It smells expensive (but isn’t).

This serum recieves rave reviews from users thanks to its ability to target a wide range of skin concerns, including photodamage, loose skin, dullness, fine lines, and wrinkles. The combination of vitamins C and E plus ferulic acid (which doubles the photoprotection benefits of the vitamins) are what makes it so effective. Together the three antioxidants work to decrease free radical damage to cells and slow down the ageing process.

Take a close look at the ingredient list and you'll see that alongside vitamin C, this serum also contains tocopherol (pure vitamin E) and ferulic acid, ticking all of the boxes to make it a dupe for the above. What's more, it also contains skin-brightening niacinamide and a host of hydration heroes (glycerin, squalane, and hyaluronic acid).

Perhaps the most famous serum in the world, Advanced Night Repair has been a staple on bathroom shelves since it first launched in 1982. The formula has since been revamped with a new molecule that prompts skin to create fresh new cells, while antioxidants offer protection and hyaluronic acid provides 72 hours of hydration. The result? Skin feels firmer and smoother, and looks brighter and clearer.

If your skincare budget doesn't allow for spending over £100 on one product, but you still want a powerful multi-tasking serum in your routine, look no further. Combining retinol, amino acids, peptides, squalane, and antioxidants, this do-it-all formula targets fine lines, wrinkles, firmness, and texture.

With benefits for skin concerns ranging from mature to breakout-prone, this serum draws upon six powerful peptides to repair damaged skin and boost collagen production. The hero ingredient, Copper Tripeptide-1 has impressive wound-healing and skin remodelling properties, so it's especially beneficial for targeting post-breakout scarring and signs of ageing.

The lower price point of this serum is reflective of the fact that it contains a lower concentration of peptides than the NIOD serum. But, since it still contains Copper Tripeptide-1, you will ultimately achieve similar results - it might just take you a little longer to see them.

With 0.5% pure retinol, this powerful serum works overnight to target fine lines, wrinkles, uneven tone, and loss of firmness and elasticity. Since retinol can cause dryness and irritation (especially if you're new to the ingredient or have sensitive skin), the serum is accompanied by a buffer cream which can be mixed in to reduce any unwanted side effects.

A fuss-free and affordable dupe of the above, CeraVe's newest serum combines retinol with three essential ceramides. Together the ceramides work simultaneously to lock in skin's moisture and strengthen its protective barrier, preventing irritation and dryness from the retinol while it works to target fine lines, wrinkles, exposed pores, and post-acne marks. No mixing required.

This cult favourite serum is renowned for its ability to brighten dull skin and smooth rough texture. The star ingredient is glycolic acid, a powerful chemical exfoliant which works by dissolving the dead skin cells that clog pores and contribute to uneven tone and texture. 

Although it contains a lower strength of glycolic acid (4% versus 7%), this actually makes this serum a more sensitive skin-friendly alternative to the above, as well as a more budget-friendly dupe. Glycolic acid is fast-acting and effective, but it can cause irritation, especially if your skin is sensitive or you're new to using acid exfoliants. 

Hyaluronic acid is renowned for its ability to draw moisture into the skin, but did you know that there's more than one type of hyaluronic acid? This serum actually contains three weights of the ingredient, which means it has the ability to target three different layers of the skin for instant and long-lasting hydration.

This dupe only features two weights of hyaluronic acid, but it does include additional skin-soothing ingredients which make it a great all-rounder for all skin types. "Those with dry skin are ideal candidates for a hydrating serum but all skin types will benefit," says Khorana. "Both mature and young skin alike can use a hydrating serum and they can be a great oil-free option for breakout prone skin."

If you're sensitive to acid exfoliation, but still want a brightening boost, consider adding a vitamin C serum to your routine. With 15% ascorbic acid (a high strength form of vitamin C which is clinically proven to fade hyperpigmentation) and pumpkin ferment extract (for gentle enzyme exfoliation) this serum works fast.

Ceramides have been used in formulations for years but have recently gained popularity due to their ability to strengthen the skin barrier, prevent dehydration, and provide moisture without clogging pores. These single-dose capsules are not only fun to use but are also perfect for travel.

Beauty Pie is another brand we love when shopping for beauty on a budget. The beauty buyers' club cuts out the middlemen with a direct-to-consumer model, which means you get access to premium products at a fraction of their RRP. The brand's ceramide capsule offering contains the same amount of capsules (60) as the above, for just £16.

Salicylic acid is a great ingredient for targeting signs of oily skin, like excess sebum, enlarged pores, blackheads, and breakouts. Alongside soothing bisabolol and green tea extract, it's the key player in this soothing gel serum.

The Ordinary's version of the above costs less than 1/6th of its price. The only catch? Salicylic acid is literally the only ingredient in this formula. I love using this clear gel as a targeted spot treatment during the day, since it's totally invisible and layers well beneath makeup.

Mushrooms are (in my opinion) very underrated as skincare ingredients because there's not much they can't do. Origins' Mega-Mushroom range draws upon the benefits of three different varieties, chosen for their abilities to reduce redness, soothe irritation, and calm inflammation.

Although this serum contains only one variety of mushroom, it's accompanied by cica, an ingredient famous for its soothing and calming properties. If your skin is naturally sensitive or you've experienced a reaction or breakout, this serum offers immediate comfort and relief (and won't break the bank in the process). What's more, most of Beauty Bay's affordable serum range is designed to be layered together, perfect if you want to target multiple concerns at once.

For anyone who wants to target signs of ageing skin, peptides are a must-have, and this powerful serum combines ingredients specifically chosen to tackle mature skin concerns. The blend includes Matrixyl 3000, a powerful peptide complex which boosts collagen production to reduce the appearance of wrinkles with long-lasting benefits.

This top-rated serum is great for targeting dry and dehydrated skin, but works well for all skin types. The texture is silky and absorbs easily into skin, layering well beneath other products (including makeup).

The Inkey List's results-driven serums feature tried-and-tested ingredients and minimal packaging in order to keep prices low. "This is a brilliant, basic hyaluronic serum for those on a budget," says Onyejekwe. "If you have no major concerns but are finding your skin is feeling tight and dehydrated, you may want to give this a go. I like to apply to immediately after my face mist and lock in with a moisturiser."

Niacinamide is a true multitasking ingredient with benefits for pretty much every skin type and concern. Dehydration? Pigmentation? Breakouts? Excess oil? You name it, niacinamide will fix it. In this crowd-pleasing serum it's blended alongside hyaluronic acid and antioxidants, so there's no need to layer multiple serums - this one does it all.

Want to experience the benefits of niacinamide without the hefty price tag? Naturium's serum is a quarter of the price of the above, and combines niacinamide with zinc (which reduces inflammation and aids healing). This particular formula is great for people prone to breakouts.

Who doesn't want healthier, brighter, glowier skin? Drawing upon known skin-brightening ingredients including niacinamide and lactic acid, this formula aids dullness and hyperpigmentation in order to improve skin tone and prevent discolouration.

Byoma's budget-friendly serums are each geared towards a specific skin concern, which makes it easy to figure out the best one for your skin. This mask has been in my arsenal for so long that I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve repurchased it. It’s immediately cooling and soothing on application and helps to cut down the lifespan and general angriness of even the most painful of spots.

Designed to treat existing breakouts as well as prevent future ones, this mask uses Amazonian clay to pull build-up from pores, chamomile to reduce inflammation and flavanone to kill bacteria. I also like to use it as a targeted spot treatment on particularly stubborn breakouts.

Why We Love It: I recently posted a picture of my perfume stash on Instagram (controversial, I know), and I was stunned by the amount of editors that messaged me about Diptyque's Orphéon. Nowadays, it's proving less popular (purely because of its mammoth success). However, if you're asking me, those who stuck with it came out on top. Instead, it creates a spicy, smoke show of a bouquet that you want to drench yourself in head to toe.

Why We Love It: Penhaligon's is possibly one of the most-loved perfume brands amongst British beauty editors. Its age-old juices and traditional bottles really know how to get us excited. Why We Love It: I'm calling it: Amouage Guidance is set to be the biggest niche fragrance of the decade. In recent months, I have smelled it on the necks of every beauty and fashion editor I seriously respect. Yes, it's pricey, but the scent puts every penny of its expense to work. It starts off juicy and fruity with a bite of mouthwatering pear, but that quenching top is entirely enveloped in the most luxurious and intriguing cloak of cream you have ever encountered. Hazelnut, vanilla, rose, saffron and frankincense attack the nose from all angles—it is creamy and inviting, punchy and demanding, spicy and sweet and smoky and intense all at once. If you get the opportunity to smell this just do it and thank me later.

Why We Love It: I have waxed lyrical about Aerin perfumes for many years, and frankly there isn't a single scent in the line up that I wouldn't recommend purchasing. It's reminiscent of a French boulangerie but has a depth to it that makes it perfect for evenings. Every beauty editor I know that has tried it absolutely loves it.

Why We Love It: "Fans of Baccarat Rouge 540, rejoice. This perfume from Maison Francis Kurkdjian has the same creamy sweetness, but it comes without the risk of smelling like everybody else. Why We Love It: I've been a fan of Maison Crivelli perfumes for years, and in recent months it seems to be the perfume house everyone is talking about. It seems like everybody who is anybody counts a Maison Crivelli scent as a signature. In fact, I recently discovered that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and I share the same favourite in Tubereuse Astrale. The sweet, creamy scent smells unlike anything else out there—like syrupy tuberose petals poured onto a bed of warm leather. It oozes money.

Best for: Clean-smelling freshness

Why We Love It: Remember The Body Shop White Musk from your teenage years? Well, now imagine it got reinvented for adults by one of the most forward-thinking perfume houses out there. Musc Invisible by Juliette Has A Gun should be on every perfume-lover's shelf.

Key Notes: Cinnamon, coriander, bergamot, Siam benzoin, patchouli, Moroccan rose. amber, incense, vanilla, labdanum.

Best for: A warming, spicy finish

Why We Love It: If you're looking for a perfume that stands out from the rest, Sana Jardin is a great brand to start with. Not only are the fragrances made ethically and sustainably, but they are also beautifully strong and different. Tiger By Her Side is deeply spicy, warm and exotic thanks to vanilla, patchouli and bergamot. I see this one on the shelves of every cool influencer and editor I know.

Why We Love It: As a beauty director, I have spent a lot of time looking after other editor's desks while they are on holiday, and this stuff is almost always stationed next to their desktops. In fact, I have a bottle on my desk at all times too. It's woody and jungle-like thanks to earthy notes of sandalwood and cypress.

Best for: Luxurious holidays

Why We Love It: If you struggle to close your eyes and let your imagination whisk you off to the French riviera when you're feeling stressed, this perfume might help. It's balmy, salty and embodies all of the hedonistic bliss of holidaying in the South of France—and that's exactly why beauty editors love it so much. Is there anything chicer than a summer scent inspired by Hotel du Cap? I think not.

Key Notes: Italian bergamot, Sicilian lemon essence, mandarin, orange, grapefruit infusions, rosemary, jasmine, lily of the valley, clove, patchouli.

Best for: Stealing from your partner

Why We Love It: This fragrance, along with Orphéon, is what I deem to be the most exquisite and wonderful in the entire world. I first bought it as I wanted something different (but not too different) to the brand's iconic citrusy Colonia. This stuff has a deep, soapy base to it that is nothing short of intoxicating. I have worn it for years and years and have been forever reluctant to share. In recent years, I also discovered that fragrance expert Alice du Parcq shares a similar love for this stuff, and we bonded over it instantly. While I remain pleased it is getting the love it deserves, I can't help but feel a bit miffed that it isn't all mine.

Best for: A sweet, powdery scent

Why We Love It: Virtually every beauty editor I know is head over heels for Byredo Velvet Haze, and I can totally see why. While we all openly praise the likes of Gypsy Water, Mojave Ghost and Blanche, Velvet Haze is the one we keep to ourselves. Coconut water makes it creamy and sweet, while patchouli, musk and cacao make it deeply refreshing.

Best for: Creamy citrus lovers

Why We Love It: Serge Lutens is one of those fragrance brands that beauty editors will never tire of. It's luxe and is hard to locate if you're not regularly darting in and out of London's high-end department stores. Everything the brand creates is liquid gold. This fresh (but punchy) orange flower fragrance, however, is the crème de la crème. 

Key Notes: Mastic, orange blossom, Bulgarian rose, ginger, jasmine sambac, sandalwood.

Why We Love It: You might not be familiar with this one, but you should be. Beauty editor at Fabulous, Tara Ledden, told me that she first spotted this perfume while on holiday in Barbados. She didn't buy it at the time but spent the next six months tracking it down (the lengths we'll go to). A hearty concoction of sweet and dry cedar, and made specially with ingredients that work in synergy with pregnancy and nursing without disrupting the body's sensitivity during this time—it is absolutely exquisite.

Why We Love It: This entire Estée Lauder fragrance collection is a work of art, with each fragrance being blended and created by a different world-famous perfumer. Blushing Sands, however, has proved one of the most loved in the beauty editor circuit. An earthy, woody scent with vetiver and pink pepper, it embodies the heady heat and freedom of the desert in just one spritz.

Next up, 7 cheap anti-aging moisturisers that are just as good as these expensive ones.

For me, moisturisers need to serve more than one purpose. Naturally, they should hydrate the skin, but they also need to keep my face looking young like a newborn. (I’m kidding.) Embryolisse's Lait-Crème is unassuming to look at but works overtime to create that coveted fresh, glowy skin. I carry a tube in my bag on a day-to-day basis (for when I’m barefaced).

Those with brown skin tones often struggle to find a sunscreen that doesn't leave a grey cast over their face, ruining makeup and holiday photos as a result. La Roche-Posay’s factor 50 is a great option. Regular use has helped with my hyperpigmentation, and it’s become a regular fixture in my daily skincare routine. Also, zero white marks.

I’m not one to wax lyrical about a product just because it’s considered "cult.” Yet Tata Harper’s Rejuvenating Serum is worthy of the hype. It’s certainly not cheap, but hardcore skincare enthusiasts know that the investment pays off.

I’m big on moisture, and squalane is one ingredient that delivers. While The Ordinary's products can seem a little daunting (so much jargon!), this oil is great for those who need a hydration boost.

Admittedly, this is new to my skincare line-up, but so far, so great. If, like me, you suffer from an uneven skin tone, it may be worth considering Inkey’s Salicylic Acid Cleanser for your routine.

I’ve been obsessed with clay masks since my oily-skinned teen years. For some reason, they made me feel grown-up. As my skin has changed over the years, I only use a clay mask every two weeks or so. This purifying clay mask by Fresh isn’t too drying, and my skin feels de-clogged and brighter after use.
 

One of my favourite influencers recommended this scrub, and I concur—it’s fabulous. Sanctuary's Salt Scrub is lightly scented, and I recommend using it on your next pamper day so you emerge from the bath silky and smooth.

In my lifelong pursuit to become as dewy as possible, Glossier's Futuredew is my saving grace. It’s excellent as a primer or as a natural highlight.
 

I never thought I could achieve that "just been for a brisk walk” fresh-faced look until Glossier came along. Cloud Paint is a staple of mine. Sometimes, I use it on my bare skin to liven my face up. Get creative and layer up the shades.

This is a new eyebrow product created by influencer Jess Hunt, a young woman known for her killer eyebrows. It consists of three products—a Brow Sculpt, Brow Pomade, and Brow Pencil—and it’s a complete game changer.

Pre-lockdown, I wore lipstick every day. They make me feel confident, and that’s my excuse for owning every shade under the sun. Pat McGrath’s matte lipsticks are my most special bullets overall.

It’s taken a hell of a long time to find my "signature scent,” but I think this is it. (Although, this is always subject to review.) Dior's Gris Dior is a fragrance I was lucky to own for a few years, and I savoured it to the last drop. It's now top of my Christmas 2020 list. 

Conditioners don’t last long in my life (afro hair problems). However, Bouclème's Curl Conditioner is a regular repurchase.

Another great brand for curly hair. I’m a big believer in co-washing curls (washing hair with conditioner and skipping shampoo), so it’s great to see a product that caters to this.

I've always been tender-headed, so I have never enjoyed detangling my extremely thick hair on wash days. However, the Tangle Teezer maneuvers through my curls like a dream. 

Kretzu confessed that her secret to creating this dewy look is "to mix a skin tint with Drunk Elephant’s D-Bronzi. It gives you a healthy dose of colour and glow without leaving the house!”

So what product does Allison swear by to create this look? She confessed, "The product that makes this look so easy and simple is the Hollywood Flawless Filter by Charlotte Tilbury. It’s my favourite product ever—it gives your skin a natural glow with just the right amount of coverage so you don’t feel weighed down, but your skin looks amazing!”

Niller continued, "I then highlight the cheekbones and brow bone, add a little mascara, brush up my brows, and add a bit of blush and bronzer on the hollows of the cheeks and dab some on my eyelids as well. It instantly makes me feel good and ready for the day!”

For her effortless makeup look, Malana used Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser (£54), followed by Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (£25). To highlight her eyes, she swears by Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz (£23) in the shade Medium Brown, L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara (£11), and Milk Makeup Highlighter (£23) in the shade Lit on her cheekbones. Malana finished off this look with Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder (£32) and Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer (£14) in the shade Deep.

LaPlaca continued, "I like to start with an even, glowy canvas for the skin (Kosas Tinted Face Oil, £40, is a favourite for this), then go in with a brow pen (I've been loving Glossier Brow Flick, £15) and brow brush to amp them up. If I have extra time, I'll add in the eyeliner, but honestly, it's optional. Finally, a swipe of my go-to Chanel lipstick, et voilà!”

"I’m using mostly Nars here to create this look with a foundation (£37) and lip,” Brown said. 

You can wear just a lip for this look, or you can put on a layer of your go-to foundation.

Tyla-Lauren shared, "For the perfect nude lip, Taupe from MAC is my favourite because it complements my skin tone perfectly—I honestly think it works on everyone so well! And to finish off the look, I love adding a darker liner with it."

Cung continued, "I always use a felt-tip liner to do my cat eye and do the wing part with a pen-style liquid liner.”

Kean suggests that "any pink eyeliner would be perfect for re-creating this look.” And rather than applying the eyeliner to the inner lash line, apply it to your crease, and wing it out for a cute, creative take on your cat-eye look. 

Whether you opt for a deep indigo or a bright pink, this cute cat-eye variation is an easy makeup look to try. All you’ll need is a good eyeliner. 

This makeup look is easier to re-create than it looks; rather than just outlining your lid or your eyeliner, outline the under-eye, top eye, and outer edges. Then, fill in your full lid with an eye shadow of your choice. Anoushka recommends using Fenty Beauty’s Precision Blending Eyeshadow Brush (£20) to blend your shadow. 

Finally, to ensure the perfect electrifying eye look, Anoushka swears by putting on Glossier’s Lash Slick mascara to finish it off.

Fatima recommends creating this look to find your perfect base foundation (hers is Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup in Toasty Toffee, £35) followed by the colour liner of your choice. Ultimately, when it comes to creating cute makeup looks, in the words of Fatima, it’s all about "finding what accentuates your own features.” Be it a cat eye or something else, now’s the time to get creative and find the makeup routine that’s easiest for you.

Li continued, "To create this look, I used E.l.f.’s eye primer and just applied some eye shadow with my fingers.” 

"To finish off the look, I added color to my lids then accentuated it with another color in the corner of my eyes!” Li explained. Who said makeup had to be hard? 

You can opt for a fun yellow like Elif did or pick your own statement colour to inject a little delight into your life. 

For this look, Baker recommends applying Kosas’s Waterfall eye shadow all over your lid. She finished off the look with Kosas Wet Lip Oil Gloss in Dip (£25) along with Kosas Color & Light Crème in Velvet Melon (£32) on her cheeks. 

Falling for Cheng’s look? The eye shadow palette she used is the Revolution x Patricia Bright Rich in Colour Shadow Palette (£20), or you can get the same effect by sweeping this Glossier shade on your eyelid.

Like all Aesop fragrances, Ptolemy is interesting from first sniff, but becomes exponentially better as it burns. With notes of cypress, cedar, and vetiver, it’s fresh and woody but rounds down to something earthy and resinous. I find it very welcoming and comfortable, perfect for scenting a hallway or lounge.

Okay, this is a personal favourite of mine. When I need to be in the mood to clean, I light this. Inspired by fresh cotton sheets, it’s fresh and airy, but has a surprising depth and weight to it. The main notes are lavender, freesia, and magnolia, but thanks to a warm, musky base it’s not a conventional floral. I really rate Beauty Pie candles - the scent blends are always interesting and they have great throw and longevity.

I’ve never visited the Caribbean, but I can only imagine this is exactly what the lobby of a fancy beach-front hotel on Antigua would smell like. Part fruity and part woody, it’s a vibrant cocktail of rum, leather, plum, and bergamot. Plus, if you like it as much as I do, you can also purchase an eau de toilette version.

I’m quite certain that every single one of Penhaligon’s candles gives hotel lobby vibes, but I can’t stop smelling this one. Perfect for autumn and winter, Anbar Stone starts off dark and smoky, but become increasingly sweeter, thanks to notes of honey-like amber and creamy tonka (a more mellow alternative to vanilla). If ‘hotel lobby’ brings to your mind book-filled shelves and studded leather armchairs, you’ll love this.

& Other Stories has one of the most underrated affordable fragrance collections, and their candle line is just as good. Palette Cypress is a bright and breezy blend of bergamot, açai, geranium, and cypress, with a heavy dose of leather that gives it a sophisticated edge. It burns powerfully and balances out to be equally warm and floral.

Aromatherapy Associates focuses on creating fragrances that celebrate scent as a form of self-care. Inspired by the calm and tranquility of nature, this comforting and uplifting mix of ho wood, pink pepper, and cyprus doesn’t just smell good - it makes you feel good. If your favourite kind of hotel is a spa hotel, look no further.

If you’re unfamiliar with Soho House, it’s a collection of members-only lounges and hotels with locations in cities such as Berlin, Istanbul, London, and New York. So yes, the company knows a thing or two about luxury home decor, and in 2016 launched a separate interiors brand, Soho Home. Now, Soho House locations are scented with Soho Home candles - so you can quite literally take the hotel lobby scent home with you. My favourite is Pomelo, a citrusy concoction of grapefruit and jasmine inspired by the Miami House.

This one is unique in that it’s actually inspired by a hotel, so it really doesn’t get more ‘luxury hotel lobby’ than this - a spicy and smoky aroma with hints of incense. According to perfumer Jo Malone, The Beaumont is "inspired by old fashioned glamour and sophistication,” and "instantly evokes a sense of 1920s decadence and grandeur”. 

Like all Le Labo scents, this is the kind you’ll become addicted to after one sniff. Smoky and leathery but also woody and subtly spicy, Santal 26 is sensual and unforgettable.

Byredo is known for its complex and interesting perfumes, but it also has a collection of scents exclusively available as home fragrances. Inspired by the comforting feeling of freshly-washed linen, Cotton Poplin is delicate and powdery, combining notes of blue chamomile, white cedarwood, and sweet musk. If you could bottle the feeling of climbing into a freshly made hotel bed at the end of a long day spent travelling, it would be this.

Glossier fans will be pleased to know that the brand have taken their iconic body care fragrances and made them into candles. The latest launch is Big Sur-inspired Sandstone. Housed in an elegant green glass vessel, this candle perfectly balances out earthy notes of sandalwood and sage with a figgy freshness. It smells clean but expensive, the perfect accompaniment to hotel bath time.

Many scents have interpreted the wood fire smell, but this is the original and (in my opinion) the best. It perfectly evokes the comfort and cosiness of stepping in from the cold and gathering around an open fireplace.

For festive season, nothing beats Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Mon Beau Sapin, which is released every year ahead of Christmas. It's fresh, woody, and resinous - burning it is the next best thing to having a real tree in your hallway.

This bright, musky floral is the perfect scent to breathe life back into your home after winter. It combines notes of freesia, rose, iris, violet, and musk.

It was love at first wash for me and this creamy gel cleanser. Thanks to its gentle consistency—no prizes for guessing it's kind of milky and kind of jelly-like in texture—I use it most evenings as my first cleanse. Applied to dry skin, it does a great job at dislodging makeup and grime without leaving your skin feeling stripped thanks to its pH-balanced formula. If you're looking for a basic cleanser that gets the job done, then I think this is a great, affordable option. I then follow with a second cleanser to target my specific complexion needs that day. Honestly though, if you're only going to buy one skincare product from Glossier, make it this.

When I heard that Glossier were launching a second cleanser I was a little dubious—after all, you've just read my glowing review of their original cleanser. How could they top that? I was wrong. In terms of texture and results it's a totally different ball game from Milky Jelly: Cleanser Concentrate is frothy, oil-like texture enriched with gentle exfoliators. For me this is the ultimate second cleanse once my makeup has been removed as it's much more active on the skin—gently working away dead skin cells, refining pores and smoothing texture. It leaves my skin looking brighter and feeling soft and it's now a firm favourite in my regular skincare rotation. 

Retinol is one of those skincare ingredients that can feel a little scary if you're not sure where to start with it, but experts are unanimous in their adoration for this hardworking ingredient that targets everything from fine lines to uneven skin texture. Luckily, Glossier's 2021 launch aims to demystify retinol and make it accessible for pretty much everyone. Formulated with 0.5% pro-retinol, it's the perfect starting point if you're new to retinol or have particularly sensitive skin. After just a few weeks of regular use, I found that my skin felt smoother, my pores appeared smaller and acne scarring was less visible. Plus, I didn't experience any redness, dryness or irritation. It's a winner in my book.

Milky Oil is coined as the ultimate waterproof makeup remover by the brand. First thing to note: The bottle is small. Just 100 ml of product for £12, which might be something to consider if you use a dedicated makeup remover every day. For me, however, Milky Jelly Cleanser does a solid job at removing my makeup most days, so I tend only to reach for this when I'm wearing heavier eye makeup. Despite being named an oil, once you've given the bottle a good shake, it turns into a soft liquid that makes light work of lifting off makeup without leaving greasy residue behind.

This chemical exfoliator launched to much fanfare back in January 2018, and I hit "add to cart" after immediately becoming enthralled by all of the magic before-and-after images of real skin. Sadly, my skin did not get on with this product. A 10% blend of alpha-hydroxy acid, beta-hydroxy acid, and poly-hydroxy acid, it promises to remove dead skin cells and reveal the healthy skin beneath, reducing redness, pore size, and blemishes as it goes.
My skin normally responds really well to acids, so I'm not sure why it reacted badly to this product. After a few days of use, I noticed a crop of red under-the-skin bumps appearing. I persisted, cutting down to using it just three times a week, but after almost a month of use, I decided to remove it from my skincare routine due to the rash-like blemishes that continued to appear. Although it didn't work for me, there are a whole host of glowing reviews online and supporting images from fans of this product. It just wasn't a skincare match for Solution and me.

If I'm being totally honest, I'm on the fence about this product. The pros: I love the packaging (it's fab for travel), the lightweight texture means it genuinely works as a primer for makeup, and it does a solid job of blurring over the large pores around my nose. The cons: Although you can build it up, I really don't find this hydrating enough for a daily moisturiser, and my skin definitely isn't on the dry end of the spectrum. I'd potentially use this as a daily moisturiser-primer hybrid during the summer months when my skin tends to be oilier and I need less hydration. But on a normal day, I'd apply my usual moisturiser and then layer this over the top for its makeup-priming benefits.

This moisturiser, on the other hand, I can't get enough of. Firstly, it smells like an absolute lavender dream. Secondly, it boasts a really creamy consistency—hence its name—and is brimming with ceramides and fatty acids to really lock in moisture. If you're like me and have a combination-oily skin type and are dubious about rich formulations, then I'd really recommend that you give this a go. For me, this makes equally as good a night cream as it does a day cream. Just a small amount leaves my skin looking smooth and dewy. Trust me—I love it so much it was the moisturiser I used to prep my skin on the morning of my wedding.

Take a peek inside any of my handbags and you'll likely stumble across a tube of Glossier Balm Dotcom. Available in nine incarnations—including the original unscented version and the mango-scented version—I can't get enough of them. A blend of natural emollients like cupuaçu fruit extract, beeswax, and castor seed oil, they have a thick texture that locks in moisture on dry lips and soothes irritation. My personal favourites? Birthday (a vanilla-scented clear balm with flecks of '90s-inspired iridescent shimmer), Rose (a lightly floral scent with a subtle pink tint), and Coconut (for holiday vibes in a tube). Glossier's latest Lavender balm has a herbaceous scent with a subtle lilac hue.

There are two sunscreens I swear by for everyday use, and this is one of them. Ideal for all skin tones, it's a clear gel formula that sinks immediately into the skin and doesn't leave even a hint of white residue behind. Perfect for everyday wear, it has SPF 30 to protect against UVA and UVB rays but also contains an antioxidant complex to help neutralise free radicals and minimise the effects of pollution on your skin. If you don't already use sun protection daily, this is a great place to start. I apply it as the last step in my morning skincare routine and can happily go about my day knowing my skin is protected. Plus, the lightweight texture means my makeup products apply smoothly on top.

Glossier makes three skin serums, and this one is my personal pick of the bunch. Niacinamide (aka vitamin B3) is a powerhouse at treating spot-prone skin and is the star ingredient of Super Pure. As an anti-inflammatory, it does an amazing job at soothing the redness and irritation that often come hand in hand with a breakout. If, like me, you're particularly spot prone, this works well as a daily serum to keep your skin calm. If you only deal with the occasional blemish, I'd suggest using this as a more targeted treatment, as it's pretty potent and could dry out sensitive complexions.

Not only is vitamin C an amazing ingredient to reach for when your skin's looking particularly tired, but it also works wonders at reducing dark spots and pigmentation. I use a vitamin C serum most mornings, and this is one of my most reached for. In terms of immediate effects, it instantly brightens and wakes up my skin. Trust me—this is a must if you're on a hen weekend. More long-term, though, I've noticed it's really helped lighten the dark areas of pigmentation left on my skin from acne scarring. Although I wouldn't claim it's a miracle cure—and Glossier certainly doesn't suggest this—I've noticed my skin looking smoother and more even.

Of all the serums, this is the one I gravitate to the least, and that's really down to my personal skin needs. This is a hyaluronic acid–based formula that boosts elasticity, plumps skin, and deeply moisturises. While I do love a good dose of hyaluronic acid during a Sunday-night pamper session, Super Bounce just doesn't combat any of my everyday skin concerns. It does an alright job at adding a little extra hydration to my skin on days when I do need it, but personally, there are other moisture-boosting serums I'd reach for over this one when I want a hit of hydration.

I really wanted to love this product—there's something about the packaging that brings me beauty joy. Luckily, it doesn't just look cute; it actually works. With a combination of white kaolin clay to draw out oil, leafy greens to protect the skin, and avocado oil to nourish, it's a detoxifying mask that gently clarifies and mattifies skin. It takes 20 minutes to work, so this is definitely a Sunday-night mask for me. I slather a generous layer onto clean, damp skin and then leave it to dry. It feels satisfyingly old school (I love a classic clay mask), and when I remove it with a damp cloth, my skin looks brighter and clearer without feeling stripped.

There was a time when it felt like every influencer on the planet was raving about this soothing face treatment. Hydrating face masks don't tend to be my thing (I opt for treatments that deliver visible results by decongesting or exfoliating), but there is something lovely about this one. It's brimming with shea butter, honey, hyaluronic acid and aloe for a comforting dose of moisture. Just like Mega Greens Galaxy Pack, Glossier advises you to apply this generously to damp skin and relax for 20 minutes. However, I prefer to apply it like a thick moisturiser before bed and sleep with it on. By morning, my skin has absorbed all of the goodness and feels soft and dewy.

When I heard that Glossier was launching a moisturiser specifically with oily skin in mind, I was so excited, and thankfully, this gel-cream formula doesn't disappoint. It uses marine extract to reduce excess shine so that your skin is left looking healthy but never sheeny and contains niacinamide to reduce the appearance of pores and even skin tone. If you're all about the Glossier glow, then this moisturiser won't be dewy enough for you, but if, like me, you want a product that will keep your oil levels in check throughout the day, then I think it's a winner.

In direct contrast to the moisturiser above, Futuredew is all about the shine. It's an oil-serum hybrid that you apply as the final step in your skincare routine—after your SPF—and it leaves skin seriously radiant. If your skin verges on the oilier side, then I think this product might be a bit intense. When I apply it before my makeup, I find that my foundation and concealer have slipped off my face halfway through the day and that I'm entering oil-slick territory. Instead, I like to use it over my base makeup as a subtle highlighter. It looks really beautiful pressed onto cheekbones for a naturally dewy effect.

We did a full-team review of Glossier's latest makeup launch when it landed, but suffice to say we were all very excited by the brand's first eye shadow palette offering. Available in 10 different colour options, each refillable tin contains a matte, shimmer and glitter eye shadow that all really pack a punch when it comes to colour pay-off. Although not all the shades are up my street, there's a great mix of wearable neutrals and more trend-led colours, and it's nice to see a brand taking a more edited approach to eye shadow palettes.

Described by the brand as "the (cashmere) sweatpants of lipstick" I just knew I'd adore this laidback approach to lip colour when they launched this, and they really didn't disappoint. Combining the hydration of a balm with the sheen of a gloss and the pigment of a traditional lipstick, I'm pretty sure that these will appeal to both lipstick lovers and loathers alike. You can apply them lightly for just a hint of balmy colour or layer them up for a shiny lipstick look. Available in 9 shades, from soft pinks to walnut browns, there's a hue for everyone but Fête (a juicy red) and Villa (a dusty rose) get top marks from me.

I wouldn't describe myself as a bronzer girl, so it's as much a surprise to me as it is to anyone that I found myself falling head over heels for the long-awaited launch of Glossier bronzers in summer 2021. It's a unique gel-cream texture that melts into skin for a really natural finish (I like to blend it in with my fingertips or a damp makeup sponge), and it's available in four versatile shades that truly mimic sun-kissed skin. I wore it basically every day during the summer months, but I reach for it consistently during winter too on mornings that my skin needs a little livening up.

To be fair, Glossier doesn't give any false promises with the name of this product—it's called a tint rather than a foundation because that's exactly what it is. It just turns out that a tint really isn't what I look for in my base products. Available in 12 shades, Glossier describe this product as an "imperceptible wash of colour," which it is. If you love the skin you're in and are just looking for a product that leaves your face looking a little bit smoother, this might be up your street. For me, however, I want a base product that works a little harder—reducing redness of blemishes and disguising pigmentation—so this really isn't for me.

On the other hand, I can't get enough of Glossier's concealer. Described as having undetectable coverage, I find that this little pot does a great job of disguising dark circles, minimising the appearance of breakouts, and brightening my skin. In fact, I've even used this as an all-over foundation—applied with a stippling brush—and love the finish it leaves on my skin. It does boast a dewy finish, so I have to set it down with powder for long-lasting results. But if you're all about that glow, it looks truly beautiful when left alone. It's concealer love.

Simply put, this brow gel is amazing and fully deserves its cult status. It has a creamy wax formula that manages to both fill in sparse patches and create thicker-looking, healthy brows. On days when I want to get out of the door quickly, this offers a fuss-free application for instantly polished brows.

Although there's less hype around Glossier's eyebrow pen, I think it might be even better than Boy Brow. Hear me out. Before I tried it, I thought that a detailing pen would be a total fuss to use. However, the tip is so fine that it's actually incredibly easy to apply light, natural-looking strokes exactly where you need them—perfect if you have sparse patches. I always think my brows look so much more polished and groomed when I have this on them.

If you like a highlighter that mimics the shine of a disco ball, then this creamy stick probably won't be your thing. If, however, you're looking for an extra dose of daytime dewiness, then you'll love this. A creamy highlighter stick with a solid-oil core packed with vitamin-rich moisturisers, this glides on to deliver a natural-looking sheen to the skin. My go-to shade is Quartz—a pearlescent pink—which provides a subtle, glitter-free glimmer to skin. Admittedly, this doesn't last amazingly well on my oily skin, but I'm happy to reapply it throughout the day, as it's just so damn pretty.

I have a love-hate relationship with these cream eye shadows, and it all comes down to the shades. Cub and Slip—the two pink shades—have become a staple in my daily routine, while Herb and Fawn just didn't work at all for me. In fact, Herb—a gorgeous smoky green in the tube—made me look like a had a black eye.
If you can find a colour that works for you, the formulas themselves are fantastic. Think a silky cream that glides onto eyelids and dries down for a crease-free, long-lasting finish. On days when I want a hint of colour on my lids but can't be bothered to faff about with brushes, these are great. For pale complexions, I'd advise going for the more pastel-hued shades, while the deeper colours would likely look incredible on darker skin tones.

Having tried these in their earlier incarnation, I was delighted Glossier relaunched these sheer matte lipsticks with new and improved packaging. (The earlier editions used to crack and break and made me sad inside.) I'd describe these as a lipstick for people who don't do lipstick. Apply one layer and you get just a wash of colour (almost like a stain), or you can build it up for a more intense pigment. As a lipstick lover, these wouldn't be the formulas I reach for when I want a really dramatic lip look, but they do deliver a cool, blotted look that's great for everyday makeup.

Disclaimer: These products do not last on my skin. I don't know what it is about my face that drinks them up, but after a few hours, they've pretty much vanished. Does that mean I love Cloud Paint any less? No. I'm obsessed with them. A gel-cream texture, these blushers come in a beautiful array of shades. Dusk (a brownish nude) and Beam (a soft peach) are two of my favourites. Dab them onto your cheeks and blend them out. They're pretty sheer, so don't be worried about applying too much. I've found they look beautiful as eye shadows, too. If you're oily like me, use powder to set them in place and increase their longevity.

Before lip gloss was trending all over Instagram, Glossier was changing everything we knew about the sticky formulations of the '90s with these clear, cushiony glosses. They deliver a lightweight layer of shine to your lips with a glossy finish that stays put. I love it because it adds a bit of polish to a simple makeup look and contains vitamin E, so it actually hydrates your lips, too.

Powder seems to have got a bit of a bad rep amongst influencers and stylish women in recent years. It seems almost like a badge of honour to declare that you forgo powder in favour of a dewy makeup look. Well, on behalf of all oily-skinned girls, I'd like to declare my love for powder, an absolute staple in my daily makeup bag. The thing that makes Wowder great is the way it manages to reduce unwanted shine and oiliness without compromising on radiance. Rather than completely mattifying your complexion, it diffuses over fine lines and pores to make your skin look soft, even, and healthy. I think even powder haters could be converted.

This mascara divides beauty editors and Glossier girls alike, with fans of the product loving the natural flutter it provides and sceptics claiming it doesn't add any impact. The brand claims this is the perfect everyday mascara, and I'd be inclined to agree. For me, mascara isn't an everyday essential, and if I'm going to wear it, I want it to enhance my natural lashes rather than create the illusion of falsies. This one uses tiny fibres to subtly extend the length of your lashes and coat them with a flexible black pigment—almost like a natural lash lift. Oh, and it washes off with warm water, so there's no need to tug at your eyes with a heavy-duty makeup remover at the end of the day. 

I have tried so many natural and aluminium-free deodorants over the years, but it's rare for one to really impress me. Mainly because to keep my sweaty underarms at bay I'm more of a super-strength, 48-hour protection kind of girl, but also because a lot of these kinds of deodorants often contain baking powder which really irritates my armpits. However, Glossier's offering is free from both aluminium and baking soda and I can confirm that my armpits are happy and rash-free when I use it. Sure, it doesn't stop you sweating (it's not an anti-perspirant) but I definitely smelt good all day. Glossier You is my scent of choice, but I love that you can refill the chic case with one of the two other scent options or a fragrance-free version when you're ready to switch to a new one.
 

This is one of the best body washes I've ever used. It's a gentle seven-oil formula that lifts grime and sweat and then transforms into a soft froth to wash it all away. There's no water in the formula, so it won't affect the pH of your skin, and it honestly leaves me feeling so soft once I've stepped out of the shower. The cute packaging certainly helps, too. I love it when there's a bottle of this displayed in my bathroom. Oh, and the subtle orange blossom and neroli fragrance reminds me of one of my favourite Tom Ford scents—without the enormous price tag.

The Glossier bodycare is a big hit with me—I adore this daily body lotion as much as the Oil Wash. I moisturise religiously after every bath or shower, so my mark of good body lotion is how quickly it sinks in. This one is really thick in texture, but my skin drinks it up and is left looking amazingly dewy. It contains light-reflecting particles that help with the glow, and I recommend this to everyone on bare-leg days.

I'm a big fan of the Glossier You perfume, so when it arrived in hand-cream form, I immediately knew that I would be a fan. The lotion itself sinks in fast, leaves hands feeling moisturised, and smells simply lovely. Yes, it won't perform miracles (it is just a hand cream), but it makes me happy when I use it. Bonus points for the ultra-cute packaging.

We've already covered how fanatic I am about moisturising daily, and body oils are one of my favourite methods of hydration. It's no surprise, then, that I wholeheartedly adore this new Dry-Touch Oil from Glossier. It contains sunflower-seed, grapeseed, and oat oils to really nourish dry skin, and it leaves skin with that trademark glow. The best thing about it is that you can spray it on, rub it in, and immediately get dressed without feeling like a sticky mess.

For me, this perfume is like a cosy cardigan or a warm blanket—comforting and familiar. I'm not sure entirely what it smells like. It's kind of clean, subtly floral, and wonderfully warming. Glossier describes it using words like "creamy," "sparkling," and "warm," and it contains notes of musk, ambrette, iris root, and pink pepper. It's the kind of perfume that smells slightly different on everyone and feels like a fragrance you've always worn. Give it a sniff if you can—you can usually choose a free fragrance sample when you place an order—but I'm confident most people will enjoy this scent.

Hooray—Glossier's cult solid perfume is back, and this time it's refillable. Containing that beautiful You fragrance in a solid formulation, the waxy compact warms up in your fingers so you can then press it into your skin. I'd say it's slightly softer and lighter than the bottled version, but it's the chicest way to touch up your scent throughout the day. Love.
