I can't stop thinking about this three-piece suit. From the Low-Rise Boot Trousers to the Tuxedo Vest to the Tailored Blazer, this powerful, sensual suiting ranks number one in my book. I've fallen in love with the fitted look of these trousers around my hips and waist that flares seamlessly into a wide-leg boot cut.

Thanks in large part to Zac Posen, EVP and creative director of Gap Inc., the classic retailer has been on a roll with smart collaborations, A-list celebrity endorsements, and lots of chic clothes. Another reason for its recent success? GapStudio. Launched in April 2025, it’s “a new segment that represents the highest expression of the iconic American brand in terms of style, craftsmanship, and quality,” per a press release.

Today, GapStudio dropped its summer collection with a campaign fronted by Lila Moss. According to a press release, the collection features the brand’s “all-new draped denim with a liquid-soft hand feel and breezy lightness that offers an easy, effortless flow—perfect for the warm-weather months. A sun-faded finish brings a lived-in look, while thoughtful design details like let-down hems reveal tonal contrast and add character through subtle texture and wear.”

It’s no secret that we love DÔEN at Who What Wear UK. From the Mirabel to the Ischa, the Californian brand creates dresses that exude sophisticated romance, bringing an ethereal yet grown-up feel to summer dressing. 1. Linen Gingham Maxi Dress, £180

Style Notes: The first dress I tried on (and an instant favourite) was the Linen Gingham Maxi Dress. The shape, for me, is a perfect blend of the Rosalinda and Ischia dresses, reimagined in gingham print with shorter, slightly puffed sleeves. These create a beautiful silhouette on the arms, with just enough volume to elongate without being overwhelming. The body of the dress is more fitted, with an enclosed zip on the side that cinches you in.

Made from 100% linen, the dress has a light, breezy feel, which will be perfect for warmer temperatures. The scoop neck features a tie detail above the bust, allowing you to adjust the fit to your preference, which is ideal for securing everything comfortably. As a true UK size 10, I usually wear a medium, but this one was a small. Initially, I was concerned it might not fit, but it did—perfectly. I consulted DÔEN superfan and Who What Wear UK editor-in-chief Hannah Alamassi, who suggested sticking true to size, as DÔEN dresses generally align with standard UK sizing, and this collaboration with Gap might offer just a bit more room. At 5'10", the dress hit just above my ankles, so if you're petite, you might want to keep this in mind when considering the length.

I’d style it casually with loafers and a large, slouchy tote for a day at my creative office (though I know the cut may not be office-appropriate for everyone). For the weekend, I’d switch it up with Puma Speedcats and an east-west bag for exploring the city on a warmer day.

2. Poplin Shirt, £65 and Poplin Shorts, £35

Style Notes: Another instant hit! This blue-and-white pyjama-style set is one I can already see myself wearing on repeat, especially throughout the warmer months. It has all the makings of a classic Gap co-ord, with DÔEN's signature elegance and romantic touch. The thoughtful design details really stood out, like the vertical rustic label on the shirt and a sweet emblem stitched at the centre of the shorts, which add a refined twist to otherwise simple pieces. I tried both in a size small (again, I’m usually a medium), and as you can see, the shirt had plenty of room for an intentionally oversized fit.

The shorts, on the other hand, felt quite snug in a small. They would still be wearable for me, but fitted. I’d recommend staying true to size in the shorts or even sizing up, depending on your desired fit (personally, I'd size up for comfort). What I love most about this two-piece is its versatility. I’d wear the full set with mesh ballet flats and oversized tortoiseshell sunglasses for a girly lunch, or style it with thick-strapped sandals on holiday. The shirt on its own would make a perfect beach coverup, too, especially if you stick with your true size or go up one for extra length and movement.

3. Eyelet Shift Mini Dress, £120

Style Notes: When I showed this dress to our social media editor, Annie Wheatland-Clinch, she gasped. Gap and DÔEN have created the ultimate summer minidress. I’ve always been a fan of a shorter hemline, especially when the design balances exposed skin with thoughtful coverage, and this dress does exactly that. Whilst this piece isn’t entirely new, it’s a fresh take on a previous fan-favourite (the Eyelet Midi Dress), which is now available in updated colourways and with refined design tweaks. This version feels like the baby sister; shorter but just as impactful.

For me, it hits the nail on the head for summer. The ruffled straps are both pretty and functional, crafted with delicate eyelet broderie detailing, and their thickness means you can comfortably wear your favourite bra with no awkward strap peek-throughs. The ruffles continue around the back, which makes the dress look really premium. An elasticated band across the top half offers both comfort and structure, so it feels secure but not restrictive. At the centre, the tie detail is more decorative than functional (unlike the gingham maxi I tried above), but it still adds a charming touch.

The embroidered floral motifs cascading down the body of the dress are a signature DÔEN detail. The cherry on top? The chic eyelet embroidery from the hips down and the romantic scalloped hem, which adds depth and softness to the silhouette. Like with the other pieces, I tried the size small and was pleasantly surprised at how well it fit; there was no tightness. I’d suggest sizing down if you’re between sizes, or stay true to size for a slightly more relaxed fit. What really seals the deal for me is how versatile this dress is. From biker boots to kitten heels, each shoe choice will transform the overall vibe, proving just how wearable it truly is.

4. Pintuck Floral Midi Dress, £120

Style Notes: I’m not the biggest fan of florals, but when I saw this dress hanging on the rail, I knew I had to try it on. In DÔEN’s signature floral print, the Pintuck Dress is packed with the kind of thoughtful design details that DÔEN fans adore. From the shirred waist to the ruffled straps, it has all the makings of a future best-seller. Once again, the thick straps are a standout feature for me, ideal for covering bra straps without compromising on style.

The dress features a square neckline bordered with soft ruffles and a delicate tie detail, so the bust area is relaxed and prioritises comfort without losing its shape. Made from a lightweight cotton blend, the fabric feels super light and breezy, so it'll be nice and comfy on hot days. On me (I’m on the taller side), it floated down to my lower calf; a practical length for summer, but of course, depending on your height, it might fall differently.

What won me over was the silhouette, which skims the body in all the right places and creates a flattering, easy-to-wear shape. And whilst I’m still not fully converted to florals, I can admit this is the dress I’d reach for if I wanted to lean into a romantic aesthetic on a sunny day. I’d style it with strappy sandals and a straw bag for a relaxed daytime look.

5. Eyelet Short Sleeve Shirt, £85 and Eyelet Maxi Skirt, £85

Style Notes: When I first browsed the collection, this co-ord didn’t immediately jump out at me. A poplin skirt and a structured prairie blouse? Nice to have, but not something I'd typically gravitate towards. That said, the moment I saw it IRL on the rail, I was instantly drawn in. The navy tone is perfect, the blouse is made from a thicker cotton that feels substantial in the best way, and the longer puffed sleeves make it ideal for anyone who prefers a bit more arm and shoulder coverage.

The ruffled collar adds a touch of theatrical romance, giving the top a soft drama that will elevate any look, whether worn as part of the set or on its own with other bottoms. The contrast of the darker blue vertical stripes caught my eye, adding just the right amount of visual interest to keep the design from feeling too traditional. The blouse is finished with a scalloped broderie hem and functional buttons that subtly cinch the waist, giving a more tailored silhouette.

The matching skirt is cut in a flattering A-line shape and features an elasticated waistband, so you can wear it higher or lower on your waist depending on your desired length. I wore mine at belly-button height, and it fell just above my ankles, so if you’re shorter, that’s something to keep in mind. I tried both pieces in a size small and would confidently say that you can size down, as I'm usually a medium. There’s plenty of room, and the relaxed structure works in your favour. You can wear the set together or separately in a variety of ways; I'd also wear the blouse with jeans and the skirt with an oversized tee. This is an outfit that keeps on giving.

In case you don't have time to check all your favourite shopping sites on a regular basis, don't worry—I'm here to do that for you. It's my job to keep my finger on the fashion pulse, and part of that is maintaining an all-seeing eye over the new-in sections of every brand, from the big to the boutique, to ensure you don't miss a beat. And this week, as I was doing my research, I couldn't help but be impressed by the fresh pieces on three websites: Gap, H&M and Marks and Spencer.

While the high-street has generally been in autumn mode since September, it would appear these three brands have been saving some of their best cold-weather pieces until now, which is handy, seeing as the temperatures plummeted this week.

It goes without saying that each of these brands has very different aesthetics, but that's what makes them a joy to shop. After all, you don't want to see the same pieces everywhere you go. True to its current form, H&M has mastered the art of minimalist dressing with its array of incredible knits and weighty tailoring. M&S has channelled its efforts into creating some of the best affordable dresses of the season (with equally stylish boots to match). As for Gap? I can always count on the brand to deliver the best basics in my wardrobe, but this collection also boasts bona fide fashion pieces that deserve their moment in the spotlight, too. Dressing like a Parisian is mainly about building a wardrobe of timeless, simple classics. I always start with great basics from destinations like Gap that make such good-quality staples and then add in personality pieces—perhaps a luxury investment item like a handbag or watch—to finish off a look. I’m always inspired by the different ways Parisian girls style up their basics. Everyone seems to have a unique take, and it’s often from the streets where I get ideas for new looks. It’s this mix that is the key to French style and is a good example of how we dress differently from the other fashion capitals.

There are three spring trends I, and a lot of the other girls in Paris, are wearing at the moment, so I created these coordinating looks from Gap’s new collection to help inspire you for the season. I always turn to layers—especially when it can be a little chilly outside—but I still want my outfit to look fresh. I build my base with great denim and T-shirts, then maybe add a plain knit, trench coat, and boots to finish it off—comfort is an important factor if you want to look effortless! Of course, I’ll add a basket bag into the mix for that signature Parisian twist.

1. Flared Jeans

I’d say a very typical French spring outfit would be a pair of flared jeans, boots, and a light jacket. I actually think wide-leg styles might be replacing skinny jeans as the new silhouette in Paris. Gap has so many great flared-denim options at the moment. They’re probably my hero piece from the new spring collection.

Although I usually wear a minimal palette of colours, I’m actually coming to love prints more and more—just a little touch with a plain outfit works really well. I could also pair these flares with the leopard-print shirt below to change it up a bit one day.

2. Double Denim

Double denim is very much in again, but in Paris, you'll find women doing it in a very pared-back way—like with the same denim wash for both pieces. I love this classic denim jacket worn with my favourite flares, and I’ll keep everything else ultra simple. Oversize jeans, some nice jewellery, and a white T-shirt is something I’d wear to work from home at the moment (comfy but still put-together), and then I throw on this jacket for my daily coffee run to make an easy fashion statement.

3. Oversize Basics

One of my go-to easy trends this spring is oversize tailoring. It gives a staple item some extra personality, which is the French way to do things! I took this blazer in a much bigger size but paired it with a more fitted T-shirt to balance out the proportions and keep the look streamlined. My general motto is to not overdo things, so if I’m making a statement with one piece, I’ll pull back on the others.

Let’s also just take a moment to appreciate how good Gap’s T-shirt selection is. They last forever, and I’ll wear these black and white styles all summer long with shorts or a skirt. A year ago if you had asked me which trend I didn’t think I’d ever be into, I’d have probably said tracksuits. How times have changed! Quite honestly, now I couldn’t imagine what my wardrobe would be without them. One of the key things to consider when buying a tracksuit is the colour. A failsafe way of ensuring your sweatpants outfits look as premium as possible is to stick to a sophisticated colour palette: Think camel, beige, navy, or cream.

As for layering, my go-to is always an oversize jacket, and this style is perfect. The black-wash denim gives the tracksuit an edgy overhaul and helps it transition from the sofa to the streets. Getting your accessories right is essential, too. I suggest keeping your look as elevated as possible with a plain pair of chunky boots, some delicate jewellery, and classic sunglasses.

1. Layer Up Outerwear

The problem with starting to get excited about spring while its still February is that warmer weather is, of course, a while off. My answer to feeling new-season ready while still keeping the cold out? All. The. Layers. Don’t be afraid of piling on a vest, shirt, hoodie, blazer, trench, and more. Whatever goes on can also come off, so you’re always fully prepared like a true Londoner. Then, as the weather warms up, you can start to shed those layers—I can’t wait to wear this plaid blazer with cut-off jeans and sandals or thrown over a fitted minidress.

2. Try Triple Denim

If there’s one key trend to invest in from Gap this spring, it’s probably this denim one. The flared jeans and patchwork shacket are particularly special. I just love the classic faded wash and a relaxed fit, but the flare is definitely a 2021 update I'll be leaning into. Plus, I love how versatile a classic jacket like this can be. For now, I’ll be styling it as a shirt (as seen here) or under a knitted vest, but as the weather warms up, I can take it into summer over a white T-shirt or vest.

3. Elevate Your Loungewear

No matter what trends are in or out, comfort and looking casual are vital DNA strands of London style. Having a look like this that I can wear on the sofa but also feel chic enough to leave the house in is all I need right now. A co-ord immediately feels pulled together even if it’s a tracksuit, and the subtle tie-dye print here makes the look a bit more interesting. When we’re able to go out properly again, accessorising will be key. Even just adding some statement earrings, a gold necklace, or throwing a colourful knit around your shoulders as a scarf can make your WFH outfit to coffee-run ready in an instant.

You may notice from these outfits that I’m not the biggest fan of colour. I’m naturally a lazy (read: efficient) dresser and I like all my separates to work together in different combinations. That’s why I usually gravitate towards a neutral palette, especially in winter when there’s so much layering going on. 

This year, instead of colour, I’m doing all the talking with carefully-selected standout outerwear, and a great quality coat is definitely one of the things I’m most excited to be wearing for winter 2020. Gap has so many options, I hardly knew where to start (although this beautiful fluffy Sherpa style was certainly a good place). I’ll be layering simple, comfy basics underneath that will keep me warm on those all important daily walks. 

One of my top tips for keeping these warm winter outfits streamlined and chic is to choose fine knitwear instead of chunky—they work the best for layering and actually help keep you warmer by trapping in heat. I also love layered tonal combinations for a more expensive-looking finish—shades of white, grey or beige will always look sophisticated. In addition, it does away with any colour-matching stress and if you’re slightly shorter like me, it helps to make you look taller… I swear! 

Another of my secrets? Invest in a steamer—you can be wearing the most basic outfit but if it’s creaseless, it will always look more pulled-together. 

Even before we discovered a newfound love for loungewear this year, my mantra was always to dress practically, stylishly and timelessly—all things that fashion lovers know Gap always gets right. I’m never disappointed in the quality and I love how I feel whenever I wear their pieces, so I’m really excited to bring you these three cosy outfits from their latest collection, which I hope will inspire you for the coming colder months. 

My standout buys definitely include the cream Sherpa overcoat—as soon as I put it on I felt like a new woman, no joke and it's absolutely perfect for throwing over all the fuss-free, super-casual outfits we all lean upon. And I’ve also fallen for a cashmere beanie and some black wide leg jeans—this denim style is luxe, hard-wearing and a new staple I'll be using all year round.

I love the bold contrast of a tailored black coat and winter whites underneath. As you can see, I’ve opted for a thin knit to layer with, and a high neck will keep in the heat better as well.

I guarantee you a fancy silk slip dress can work for the daytime. I love layering something like this so you can easily take it from day to night, and even from season to season—I’ll also wear this on holiday with a nice tan (one day...).

My family enjoyed dressing up on Christmas day so I wore a black slip dress with a thin polo layered underneath. 

By far the most exciting bit about Christmas for me, is always the gift giving. You can't go wrong with winter essentials like classic cashmere, snuggly socks or a pair of lovely PJs—they're all elevated basics that make every day a little more luxurious. Layering, for me, is one of the best ways to add interest to my autumn outfits. I rely on it so much to make my simple pieces feel unique. I’m a minimalist at heart, and I’m rarely seen without some sort of denim, so this season, I’ll be reaching for versatile straight-leg jeans (which won’t surprise my Instagram followers who know I’m a big fan), great knitwear, and timeless outerwear. Gap is one of my favourite places on the high street for all of these pieces, so I’m excited to show you three looks from their latest collection that I’ll be living in this season.

As well as layering different neutrals, I’m also enjoying playing around with textures to make a minimal outfit feel interesting. I find that great quality fabrics, like cashmere or 100% cotton, elevate a look immediately. In my autumn capsule, along with my straight-leg jeans in a few different colours and crops to pair with trainers and boots, you’ll always find some navy cashmere. It’s just such a timeless classic that I’ll wear all through this season and beyond.

Denim-wise this month, I’m seeing lots of Londoners opting to pair their cosy pieces with longer length, slightly looser jeans for a 2020 update. With Gap’s Sky High jeans, I can stick to my favourite straight leg but try out that fuller-length inseam, which I’m loving. The skinny jean will always be a classic, but straight styles have that relaxed cool-girl feel that reflects London’s attitude toward fashion. Anything with a slightly vintage feel and not too much stretch, and I’m sold.

The key, though, is to find the style that you feel most comfortable in and work around that. I spend my life searching for the perfect shade of blue, and I think I may have found it in these Gap jeans. As the weather cools and I pack away my sandals for another season, I’ll be pairing my cropped denim with a loafer or chunky trainer. I’ll choose boots or heels to go with the longer-length styles of the moment for a more elevated look.

In London, the weather definitely calls for cosy and comfortable dressing, so I’ll be prioritising that this year. Every Londoner owns a great selection of knitwear, and I’m no different. Some of my favourite pieces from Gap's autumn collection are the knits—the cashmere is super soft and such a great value and the merino wool feels so luxe. They always do the perfect simple shapes, with no fussiness that could ruin it. I’ll pop a white T-shirt under my knits and throw an extra sweater over my shoulders as a scarf-jumper hybrid to add some interesting layers.

The camel coat is the perfect wardrobe staple for autumn. It works seamlessly with any outfit—dressed up with boots or down with trainers. As for this sweatshirt, I was particularly drawn to the button detail, and it’s so soft inside, too.

Cardigans are something I’ve really got into wearing in recent years. They're the ideal throw-on layer, especially for this transitional time. 

For now, I’ll wear mine buttoned up with nothing underneath (am I a chic French girl yet?), but they work just as well over a vest or left open as an added layer.

Due to our new working-from-home routines, I’ve been living in joggers. To make them feel less sporty, I always try and elevate them with a cashmere knit and jacket when running errands.

These looks are perfect examples of how keeping a classic colour palette helps to create a capsule wardrobe you can wear year on year. I always lean toward basic colours, such as navy, whites, and beige, so that all of these pieces can be mixed and matched to make them more versatile. They can be easily layered over each other come winter. The navy knit elevates the joggers but would also work with any of the denim. Likewise, the white henley would pair perfectly with the joggers for a loungewear look, and the camel coat would easily work over everything.

This is just one way I can make sure I’m shopping more mindfully, by investing in timeless pieces that are really well-made and I know I will wear again and again. I just make sure to keep them current with simple styling tricks.

Pour l'instant, le temps est encore chaud à Paris, mais en ce qui concerne la mode, je pense déjà à l'automne. Cette période de transition est un processus qui consiste à déterminer quelles pièces de ma garde-robe vont être facilement adaptées cette saison. C'est pourquoi je suis une grande fan d'une garde-robe capsule minimaliste, minimaliste : la plupart de mes vêtements peuvent être superposés lorsque les jours se refroidissent. J'ai créé ici trois looks faciles à copier que je porterai cet automne et même plus tard dans l'année.

Pour les incontournables: denim, jeans, t-shirts, chemises et tricots fins je vais chez Gap. Je pense aussi que chaque femme devrait posséder un super blazer et le trench parfait pour sa garde-robe de transition - que l'on veuille un look plus formel ou plus décontracté, les deux font instantanément une tenue qui s'assemble sans trop d'efforts. 

Le denim est évidemment le cœur de toute bonne garde-robe d'automne. Personnellement, ma combinaison préférée en ce moment est un jean classique à taille haute avec un T-shirt uni, que j'échangerai pour un col roulé cet hiver. Tant que le jean a un peu de stretch, une taille haute et un minimum de détails, alors je sais que je peux le porter avec tout ! 

Je vois beaucoup de jeans à jambe droite dans les rues de Paris, bien sûr, mais le jean slim aura toujours sa place dans le cœur d'une française. J'en ai toujours une paire, car parfois ils vont mieux avec une tenue, surtout avec les grosses bottes plates qui sont si populaires en ce moment.

À Paris, nous devons beaucoup marcher. C'est pourquoi tout est chic mais toujours très pratique. Je vous garantie chaque parisienne possède des baskets, des bottes Chelsea et un trench-coat - toutes les pièces que l'on peu associer à un jean. Depuis peu, je vois aussi beaucoup de cardigans et de gilets en tricot sans manches (qui semblent être la pièce de transition parfaite) associés à des jeans.

La clé est vraiment de faire en sorte que les pièces simples et minimales soient toujours intéressantes. Pour moi, il s'agit de combiner les couleurs, les tissus et les coupes, puis d'ajouter une touche finale avec de superbes accessoires. Si j'ai un t-shirt uni et un jean avec une ceinture marron, je l'associe à un manteau marron ou j'assortis mon t-shirt à mes vêtements d'extérieur pour un look dynamique et moderne à la fois.

Je dois dire que certains de mes T-shirts préférés viennent de chez Gap. Ils sont un peu plus épais que ceux que je porte habituellement, ce qui les rend encore meilleurs pour la transition vers l'automne - et ils se portent très bien sous un pull pour cette couche supplémentaire. Je me suis également surprise à porter leurs "jeggings" cette saison - j'avais oublié à quel point ils étaient confortables ! Parfaits pour travailler à la maison ou pour aller prendre un café tout en ayant l'air d'être bien habillés. Continuez à faire défiler pour voir mes tenues...

Notes de style: Ici, j'ai élevé un simple T-shirt noir et un jean de maman avec une paire de talons noirs et des bijoux en or. Les bons accessoires peuvent rendre une tenue simple si chic. Je mettrais aussi un blazer noir surdimensionné avec ça si je voulais me couvrir.

Notes de style: Pour ce look, j'ai choisi une chemise très grande - j'ai en fait pris une XXL pour qu'elle ait l'air plus lâche - à associer à des jeggings. C'est un autre exemple de la façon de jouer avec l'ajustement de vos basiques pour les rendre plus excitants. J'ai jeté un des tricots classiques de Gap sur mes épaules pour ajouter ce petit quelque chose de plus à ce look décontracté.

Notes de style: J'aime l'idée de porter un cardigan comme haut. C'est certainement une tendance que je porterai davantage cet automne - cela les fait se sentir moins sérieux, et plus décontractés. Comme c'est un cardigan cintré, il s'accorde mieux avec un jean à taille haute et à jambe droite qui peut facilement être associé à des baskets, comme je l'ai fait ici, ou même à des talons et des bottes le soir. 

Lorsque le temps se refroidira, je jouerai avec ces pièces et je les porterai dans différentes variations. Comme elles sont toutes de base, elles sont très polyvalentes et s'adapteront parfaitement au reste de ma garde-robe. Les jeans seront portés avec de longs manteaux et des tricots, tandis que les t-shirts seront superposés sous un gilet en tricot et le cardigan comme écharpe pour un look superposé.

Je suis encore en train d'apprendre à faire mes achats de manière plus réfléchie, comme nous le faisons tous, mais j'ai l'impression qu'avoir une capsule de pièces que vous aimez vraiment et que vous pouvez emporter avec vous entre les saisons est un excellent premier pas. J'ai l'habitude d'acheter surtout des pièces vintage, donc je sais que les pièces ont déjà résisté à l'épreuve du temps, puis je renforce ma garde-robe avec des basiques intemporels de la grande rue. Je vérifie toujours les tissus lorsque je fais mes achats pour m'assurer qu'ils sont durables ou qu'ils dureront longtemps. C'est aussi une bonne idée de surveiller régulièrement ce que vous avez déjà dans votre garde-robe pour ne pas surconsommer, mais pour choisir les pièces qui vous manquent. Pour l'instant, je cherche un long manteau noir, bleu marine ou camel, des bottes noires et un superbe blazer noir, autant de pièces qui, je le sais, amélioreront ma garde-robe actuelle et dureront des années.

For now, the weather is still warm in Paris, but fashion-wise, my head is already starting to think about autumn. Getting dressed during this transitional time is a process of working out which pieces in my wardrobe I can easily take with me into the new season. That’s why I’m such a big fan of a minimalist capsule wardrobe, as most of what I wear can be layered up when the days get cooler. Here, I’ve styled three looks that I'll wear in autumn and beyond, and they’re all super easy to copy.

Gap is somewhere I always turn to for must-have basics like denim, T-shirts, classic shirts, and thin knits. I also think every woman should own a great blazer and the perfect trench for her transitional wardrobe— whether you’re going for a more formal or relaxed look, they both instantly make an outfit look put-together without much effort.

Denim is obviously the core of any good autumn wardrobe. Personally, my favourite combination at the moment is a classic high-waist jean with a plain T-shirt, which I’ll be switching for a turtleneck come winter. As long as the jeans have a little bit of stretch, a high waist, and minimal details, then I know I can wear them with everything!

I’m seeing a lot of straight-leg jeans on the streets of Paris, of course, but the skinny jean will always have a place in French girls' heart. I still own a pair, as sometimes they do just work better with an outfit, especially when there's chunky flat boots, which are so popular at the moment.

In Paris, we have to do a lot of walking. That’s why everything is chic but still very practical. I swear: Every Parisian woman owns trainers, Chelsea boots, and a trench coat, and that’s mostly what we pair with jeans. Recently, I’ve also been seeing lots of cardigans and sleeveless knit vests—which seem like the perfect transitional piece—paired with jeans.

The key is really making simple, minimal pieces still feel interesting. For me, it’s all about colour combinations, fabrics, and fit; and then adding a finishing touch with great accessories. If I have a plain T-shirt and jeans with a brown belt, I’ll pair that with a brown coat or match my T-shirt to my outerwear for a tonal look that keeps things modern.

I have to say, Gap does some of my favourite T-shirts. They’re slightly thicker than the ones I usually wear, which makes them even better for transitioning into autumn, and they work really well under knitwear for that extra layer. I also surprised myself by going for their jeggings this season. I’d forgotten how comfortable they are! Perfect for working from home or going to grab a coffee whilst still looking pulled together. Style Notes: Here, I’ve elevated a simple black T-shirt and mom-jeans look with a pair of black heels and some gold jewellery. The right accessories can make a simple outfit look so chic. I’d also throw on an oversize black blazer with this if I wanted to cover up.

Style Notes: For this look, I chose a very oversized shirt—I actually grabbed an XXL so it would look extra loose—to pair with jeggings. This is another example of how to play with the fit of your basics to make them feel more exciting. I’ve thrown one of Gap’s classic knits over my shoulders to add that extra something to this relaxed look.

Style Notes: I love the idea of wearing a cardigan as a top. This is definitely a trend I’ll be wearing more this autumn—it makes a cardigan feel less serious and more casual. Since it’s a slim-fit cardigan, it works better with a high-waisted straight-leg jean that can easily be paired with trainers, as I’ve done here, or even heels or boots for the evening.

As the weather cools down, I’ll be playing around with these pieces and wearing them in different variations. Seeing as they’re all basics, they’ll be super versatile and work really well with the rest of my wardrobe. The jeans can be worn with long coats and knits, while the T-shirts might be layered underneath a knitted vest and the cardigan could be worn as a scarf for a layered look.

I’m still learning how to shop more mindfully, as we all are, but I feel like having a capsule of pieces you really love and can take with you between seasons is a great first step. I usually shop vintage so I know the pieces have already stood the test of time, then bolster my wardrobe with timeless basics from the high street. I always check the fabrics when I shop to make sure they’re sustainable and long-lasting. It’s also a good idea to regularly keep tabs on what you already have in your wardrobe, so you’re not over-consuming but picking pieces you are missing. Right now, I’m looking for a long coat in either black, navy, or camel, some black boots, and a great black boxy blazer—all pieces I know will enhance my current wardrobe and last for years to come.

My everyday style always tends to revolve around denim basics. My favourite pieces in my wardrobe are all trans-seasonal styles that can be layered up in different ways across spring, summer, autumn, and winter, and most of them are denim. Gap, for me, is one of the best places on the high street to head to for all your denim needs and classic pieces. Here I’ve put together three affordable—but wearable—looks from the new season collection that work perfectly for this in-between-seasons time.

A classic mid-blue denim jacket is definitely the one piece I’ve been wearing all summer and will continue to do well into Autumn. I’m a true believer that everyone needs a great one in their wardrobe. It can be thrown over pretty much any dress when the evenings start to get chillier, and it also looks amazing doubled up with other denim. Lightweight, layerable, and super stylish, it’s a must-have. As the seasons start to change and we head into autumn, I’ll be styling mine with white jeans and knitted vests like I did here.

As for actual jeans, I think it’s essential that the style and fit enhance your figure but still feel comfortable at the same time. That’s why I love Gap styles—they have just the right amount of stretch to be supportive and stylish. For my body, I personally look for designs that are high-waisted, cropped, and flared, and so for me, this pair is perfection. Plus, I’m not quite ready to let go of summer whites just yet, so it ticks all the boxes. As the weather gets cooler, though, every autumn capsule should also include a pair of fail-safe dark-wash denim jeans. Along with the denim jacket, my wardrobe would not be complete without them—they are a staple you can wear dressed up or down.

Layering and mixing shades and colours are what really transform denim from boring basics into the interesting components of a refined everyday look. I love wearing denim rompers and shorts into autumn with a trench coat and knitwear on standby for when the weather starts to cool. Wide-leg cropped jeans are also part of my uniform, as they can be mixed and matched with vests, T-shirts, or knits depending on the weather. Throw on a jacket and some white trainers and you’re off.

Don’t tell summer, but I’ve missed layering so much. I have a real soft spot for autumnal fashion, as you can start to make outfits a bit more interesting with different components, but it’s not so cold that you’re shivering.

This outfit has to be my favourite. This will be my go-to early autumn uniform: high-waisted white jeans paired with a nude knit top and classic denim jacket to streamline the look. It can take you from your desk (at home or in the office) to dinner with friends with no change necessary. I’ll just be switching the vest with a cashmere polo neck come October.

My personal style has always revolved around simple basics. I’m a huge fan of a curated capsule of minimal pieces in neutral colours that all work together, as it makes it so much easier to get dressed in the morning. It’s no surprise, then, that Gap is one of my absolute go-to's on the high street.

When it comes to choosing which basics will make the cut in my wardrobe, I always focus on the details. They have to fit perfectly or play a part in creating an interesting silhouette, which can really make an outfit look more expensive. For example, I always size up in basic T-shirts that I pair with fitted trousers. I also layer up my looks a lot of the time—I'll throw a jumper over my shoulders, as you can see here, which is a great way to keep warm whilst still looking chic and minimal. I often play around with textures, too: White linen and creamy denim work beautifully together.

This summer in particular, I’m living in the good old-fashioned trouser and T-shirt look. It wins every time for me, as it’s an outfit I always feel good in. Comfort is definitely key for looking effortless, so I try to prioritise it in everything I wear. I’m currently teaming my look with some chunky sandals and a basket bag. When it’s really hot though, you’ll find me wearing anything linen.

My absolute summer essentials would have to include an investment white T-shirt, one that I adore and can wear year after year. A white oversize linen shirt is also on my list, and of course, a well-fitting pair of white trousers, which can be taken into autumn and winter as well. When it comes to dressing for summer, I always go for laidback pieces in ice cream tones, so anything fitting that bill will win me over.

Gap is always great for creating those simple, minimal looks. You’re guaranteed to find what you’re looking for there when it comes to basics. As you can probably predict, my favourite pieces from the summer collection would have to include its white linen shirt (I’m wearing a size large) and cream crop trouser. I mostly love how its pieces always work around a neutral colour palette, as I find this is the key to shopping mindfully as well. If you’re like me and have a mostly monochrome wardrobe, you’ll know it’s a lot easier to mix and match items without them quickly going out of style. That means I’ll wear them for years to come. I do sometimes add in a pop of a colour (promise!), but I'll keep it really classic so I know it will go with everything. Here are three of my favourite looks from Gap’s summer collection.

White T-Shirt + Striped Trousers

When it comes to shopping striped trousers, I’m always drawn to a wide stripe. I feel like it gives you a really relaxed feel. I knew immediately I was going to team these with a white T-shirt, but I really wanted to add a little something else to this minimal look, so I tied a gorgeous cable-knit jumper around my shoulders, and it instantly gave the outfit a little bit more power.

Linen Shirt + White Trousers

As soon as I saw this white linen shirt, I was immediately drawn to it. I’m a sucker for anything linen, so it was the perfect choice to team with a pair of off-white, wide-leg cropped trousers.

Gap’s shirts are incredibly versatile: Sling them over your swimsuit at the beach, team them with your favourite denim shorts, or even smarten them up with a pair of tailored trousers. I live in mine throughout the seasons. It really is an item that will never fail you.

Tailored Shorts + Cream Knit

I love to wear shorts in the summer, and these days, I’m into a more tailored feel. Whenever I buy items, I really want to make sure they are versatile. I can easily wear these in the day with a tank top, at night with a jumper, or on a date with a dressier top, oversize blazer, and heels.

Equally, you could mix and match all of these looks, and they would still work. For example, the white linen shirt would look great with the striped trousers, or the trousers could be paired with the T-shirt and jumper! Versatility really is the key to a modern wardrobe, and that’s exactly what you get with these basics.

I have always been drawn to colour in all areas of my life, and I get so excited when I can share my love for it. I’m a textile designer by training so, for me, colour has always played a huge part in my work and seeped into my everyday life. I would often start with a colour palette and work a design around it, and that’s similar to how I style clothing now. Wearing colour is so fun and can really boost your mood, so most days I’ll focus on a particular colour combination I’m feeling good about and build my outfit around it. Gap’s summer collection is always full of colour, which is why they’re one of my absolute high street go-tos.

I love to be playful with patterns and colour blocking, but don’t get me wrong, I know that wearing brights isn’t as easy for everyone. So if monochrome and neutrals are your best friend and colour makes you nervous, these are some of my top tips and favourite colourful styling tricks.

Firstly, I always suggest starting small with weaving a bright accessory or top into a neutral look. Try some bright sandals, a scrunchie or headband with classic jeans and a white T-shirt, for example, or a bold, colourful top with some white jeans. The key is to know what colours suit your skin tone, so it’s always best to experiment to begin with and then explore different shades of your favourites—some will work better than others. Once you’ve cracked that, you can create a uniform of colour combos and favourite outfits like my go-to Gap looks below, so they're easy to throw on and it doesn’t seem so scary.

Fashion has become so much more colourful in the past few years, so now there’s no excuse. I'd often have to go vintage hunting to find a colourful piece, but now they're all over the high street. And don’t be afraid of clashing when you start to mix and match—I’m a big fan of clashing, and the more experimental the better!

Pairing white jeans with a bright top is one of my favourite easy ways to wear colour, as you can see with this orange-knit-top outfit from Gap’s summer collection. Comfort is key, and this is an easy look to throw on that still looks chic. You could dress it up with a wedge for summer or a boot come winter. The top can be layered over a long-sleeved blouse, too. I like to choose pieces that can be worn in multiple ways, so they stay in my wardrobe for the long haul.

I was immediately drawn to the yellow shade of this linen dress. I absolutely love it. I'd say it's the most flattering shade of acid yellow I've seen—such a great colour for summer, and it feels fresh and unusual. The shape is so flattering for all body shapes, and I think it’s one of my favourite pieces from Gap’s entire collection. Here, I've paired it with a white denim jacket, which is another wardrobe staple that also tones down the look if you’re colour shy. I haven't seen much of this colour around, so I am excited to style it all season.

You can never have too many jumpsuits! Anyone that’s read my recent Best Wardrobes in Britain feature here on Who What Wear UK will know that they’re an absolute staple for me. This one is great for all-year-round, and I love the versatility and comfort. I've paired the blue denim with a bright orange jumper, a favourite colour combo of mine.

The beauty of this look is in the layering—one of my ultimate styling tricks. It’s the best way to get the most out of your wardrobe as it can really reinvent pieces. Plus, it’s a great way to add pops of colour into your look: a jumper or T-shirt under a jumpsuit or jeans under a summer dress or with a long-sleeved T-shirt to bring it into autumn. Versatility is key for me in order to shop as responsibly as possible.

Other ways I try to be mindful with my wardrobe include always asking myself if I really need things and sleeping on purchases rather than rushing in. I like to make sure everything I own is going to be worn again and again, so I love timeless pieces that are really well-made, which is one of the main reasons I love to shop at Gap. As a textile designer, I’m a fabric fanatic, so I always look at the label and know which will last the test of time and which to avoid.

Athena Procopiou Marrakech Printed Modal and Silk-Blend Scarf ($396, available March) I stumbled upon this European scarf designer while browsing Net-a-Porter.com and am obsessed. When I'm not wearing this one around my neck, I will tie it to my bag. I'm also a fan of Willow Knows' Silk Habotai Wrap Scarf ($140), which features a similar marble effect.
