Forever 21 is changing its game. As Racked pointed out via The Wall Street Journal, the retailer is focusing on an older demographic now (not just tweens) by stocking the store with "more-forgiving fits and more sophisticated looks."

"We’ve been working hard to break down that barrier of age with our brand," Forever 21 Vice President of Merchandising Linda Chang told WSJ. "Part of it has to do with overcoming the stigma of our name—Forever 21." The brand is also starting to stock its stores with different brands like Happy Socks BOY London to appeal to customers. I personally love comfortable airy dresses for hot summer days. I usually go for a woven dress over a knit dress, especually when I'm going for a more dressed-up look.

I love a great short suit as a modern update to the pantsuit for summer!

Printed lightweight pants or skirts paired with a crisp top can give just the right amount of ease (with polish!) for a dressed-up look that’s still comfortable during the summer heat. Try a maxi-length skirt or lightweight trouser paired with a comfortable top; the length can help to make it feel dressier and more elegant.

Accessories are a great way to add polish to a comfortable summer outfit. Grab a pair of heels in place of flats to pair with your lightweight summer dress, or add a statement necklace to your easy T-shirt or blouse. Keep the outfit casual, but layer up the jewellery, and don’t forget the toes and the lipstick! Often times it's the little details that have the most impact. A simple outfit can be instantly dressed up with a bold lip and polish.

In place of a third piece like a blazer or cardigan, try a larger scarf that you can toss over your shoulders.

The Ingredients:

-Forever 21 Pinstriped Shorts ($18)

-White Lace Trim ($10/yard)

-Straight Pins ($3 for 150-count pack)

-Thread ($4)

-Needle ($3 for 25-count pack)

Use scissors to cut two strips of trim. They should be long enough to wrap around each of the leg openings.

Use straight pins to fasten the trim around each leg opening.

With a needle and thread, sew the trim to the inside of each leg opening of the shorts.
