One could very easily argue that any shoe colour goes with blue jeans. While this may be true, I happen to think that certain ones really take denim to the next level. Of course, you can't go wrong with denim with black, white, or red shoes, and although everyone has been focused on chocolate brown and burgundy as of late, the shoe colour Elsa Hosk just wore is a bit of a departure. I don't know about you, but I wasn't giving cognac brown much thought this time a year ago. I'm taking an informed guess that Elsa's manicure is a combination of the iconic Funny Bunny, layered with Baby, Take A Vow on top. I put my theory to the test below, applying two thin coats of Funny Bunny, and two thin coats of the aptly named Baby, Take A Vow on top—it's the perfect bridal pink. And I have to say, this might be a very close match if you want to replicate this look on your own nails. I used OPI's nail polishes for my manicure, but you can also request these two shades in the salon if you want gel nails. The last time I owned a pair of floral jeans was the summer of 2012, which might explain why, ever since, they’ve felt a little, well, dated to me.

After all, a bit of fatigue is inevitable once a trend reaches peak saturation, and after some pretty questionable interpretations, many of us turned our backs on statement denim, preferring to rely on more classic (read: basic) alternatives. I’m not sure about you, but as we move towards autumn, the past few seasons’ obsession with colourful trainers has started to lose its appeal for me. Always one step ahead, the style set is beginning to signal the trends poised to define the new season, and this week, Elsa Hosk and Alexa Chung offered a sneak peek at two of the key shoe styles about to take the lead.

Whilst I was committed to my selection of chunky earrings to dress up my low-key looks for many seasons in a row, this summer, without even realising, I've been glossing over my usual go-tos and heading straight for a stack of bangles without a second thought.

A tinted lip balm! It instantly makes me feel more put-together. Plus, I can’t stand how my lips look without a little hint of colour.

Could you talk us through your skincare routine?

I managed to resist them for all of last summer, assured they'd be a flash-in-the-pan kind of trend, but recently, I've spotted some excellently styled capri-pant outfits that have made me change my mind. Style Notes: The Gucci Horsebit 1955 clearly isn't a new bag, with its popularity spanning over 70 years. But that doesn't mean it won't continue to reign as one of the most coveted bags in 2025.
