In 2026 alone, the Met Office reported that certain parts of England and Wales have seen rain every single day thus far. So, it’s not hyperbolic to say that whenever someone who calls this place home is out and about, some sort of practical jacket trails close behind. “Practical pieces to protect against the elements have never been more relevant,” says Emma Hill, founder of London-based womenswear label Damson Madder, citing that the modern pressures placed on the daily lives of denizens have resulted in an increased demand for clothes that sit at the intersection of style and utility. (Even if these stressors include rushing to your small plates reservation at some fashionable restaurant on a Lime bike when the TfL is delayed.)

As a result, the best raincoats on the market are those that have evolved to suit contemporary tastes whilst still providing the essential defensive purpose they’ve been built for. “I definitely believe that function and fashion can co-exist,” says Hill. “Throughout our design process, we consider the quality and practicality of our garments, whilst still making things that people are actually excited to wear; combining practical details with exciting prints, silhouettes and additional sign-offs like extra pockets and reversibility that make every garment extra special,” she adds.

The trench coat, reworked in leather and plissé, emerged alongside cropped, fur-trimmed bombers and exaggerated pea coats. In doing so, the collection framed the essentials as the most exciting part of next season’s wardrobe.

The show’s central thesis—London at Night—explored a palette of moody decadence. Glossy leathers appeared as trenches, trousers, opera-length gloves and sharp-toed shoes. Ruffled collars and swathes of fur retained the Londoner’s throw-on insouciance—all rendered in rich plums, blacks, navies and burgundies. Later, partywear emerged: tasselled dresses, satin gowns, thigh-grazing skirts made for plans after-dark. The high-low styling—a bomber jacket thrown over a sequinned slip, for example—epitomises the It girl style and energy London is known for.

And then came the final procession of trench coats: the ultimate emblem of the capital. This year marks 170 years of Burberry. The Notes:

So, what does this perfume smell like? As mentioned above, this is a gourmand scent which features a trio of vanilla notes. The top note is a woody vanilla, with sweet vanilla caviar at the heart and a base of vanilla absolute. There is also hints of lavender throughout, which give the fragrance this distinctive floral edge. I like to describe it as a grown up gourmand, as although it has a strong sweetness to it, it's also incredibly warm and seductive.

It's worth noting that there are actually two iterations of the scent. You can also get Goddess Intense, which is my personal favourite. Although the fragrances are similar, this newer version features a fourth vanilla wood, which adds a rich, smoky element to the perfume, making it even more captivating.

The Longevity:

I've tried both versions of Burberry Goddess, and although I love the scent, one thing I will say is that they don't have the best lasting powers. Don't get me wrong, the fragrance definitely lingers on the skin, but if you're heading to dinner after work, I recommend popping the perfume in your bag for a quick top up in between plans.

What I do love about this scent is that other people seem to pick up on it a lot. TikTok certainly isn't lying, as this perfume is bound to earn you compliments. In fact, I wore this to the office the other day and when I got into the lift, two colleagues asked me what fragrance I was wearing.

The Packaging:

In true Burberry style, the packaging is as chic as ever. Both iterations come in a gorgeous gold bottle, and the perfumes have been designed to be refillable. Once you purchase a refill, all you have to do is unscrew the fragrance pump, screw the refill on and it will stop automatically once the bottle has been filled.

The Verdict:

All in all, I'm a big fan of this Burberry perfume. Since adding it to my collection I've reached for it almost every day, and it's already earned me so many compliments. Yes, it's sweet and features a lot of vanilla notes, but in my opinion it's also incredibly sophisticated. It's a little bit more expensive than fragrances from the likes of Zara or & Other Stories, but for a designer scent, I definitely think it's worth the money. The only downside is the longevity, but that really is the only thing I can fault.

I mean let's face it, who doesn't like be told that they smell good? Although I wear perfume because it makes me feel good, it still makes my day when someone else asks me what scent I'm wearing.

Lately, I've been noticing one perfume in particular popping up in everyone's videos. Yep, I'm talking about Burberry Her. You could say that this fragrance is somewhat TikTok-viral, with lots of creators claiming it's one of their most complimented scents in their entire perfume collection. The Notes

I always like to talk about the notes first because all we really want to know is what this perfume smells like. This is definitely a gourmand fragrance, and if you don't like sweet scents, then this won't be for you. I personally love sweet perfumes, and after one spritz I already knew that this scent was right up my street.

At first, you are hit with ripe, jucy notes of crushed red berries which give this perfume a deliciously uplifting aroma. However, soon are you met with more sophisticated florals such as jasmine and violet, which add a soft, romantic edge. Finally, a base of amber and musk add this smooth, sensual creaminess which makes this scent so addictive.

I thought the berries might give this perfume a slightly younger vibe, but the base notes elevate the sweetness to create this seductive aroma, and I can see why so many people get complimented on this scent.

The Longevity

Now, onto the longevity. When you're spending over £100 on a perfume, you want to make sure it lasts. Although this is a sweet scent, it does have impressive lasting powers, and when wearing it I noticed that it lingered on both my skin and clothes. That being said, by the end of the day it's definitely not as strong as it is on first spritz, and I have found myself having to top this up before heading out in the evening. If you do want something a little stronger, I recommend trying Burberry Her Elixir, a richer version of the original fragrance.

The Packaging

This perfume comes housed in a baby pink bottle with the Burberry logo front and centre. I actually think this pale pink hue represents the fragrance perfectly, and there's no denying that the bottle will look good on any dressing table.

The slim shape also makes it a little easier to pop into your handbag, and you can also purchase 30ml and 50ml bottles that will be a lot lighter to carry around.

The Verdict

So, is this perfume worth the hype? In one word, yes. Since testing it out myself I've received so many compliments. Even my boyfriend said he loved it and he never usually comments on my fragrances. As mentioned above, this is an incredibly sweet scent, so if you don't like gourmand perfumes then this won't be for you. but I believe it's the sugary sweet notes that make this fragrance so captivating. I assumed that I would only reach for this in the daytime, but thanks to sensual amber and musk it also makes for a great date-night scent.

It's definitely not a cheap perfume, with a 100ml bottle setting you back £130, however it is quite strong so you don't need to use a lot. One thing that slightly let me down was the longevity (I would prefer to not have to top it up in the evening) but it's probably the only thing I could fault. Apart from that, I have to give it to TikTok—this really does bring in the compliments.

This may be controversial, but I’ve always found autumn my favourite season to dress for. Rounding off a memorable London Fashion Week, Burberry's runway show garnered as much attention for its front-row guests, as it did for the items spotted on the runway. Amongst the A-list crowd were models Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jourdan Dunn and singer Kylie Minogue who all made a co-ordinated statement in an unusual shoe style from the British heritage brand.

Sporting high heels in purple and yellow shades, it wasn't the colour, nor the height of the shoe that got us talking, rather the controversial fabric choice that cushioned the sole of the heel. Featuring designs embellished with coloured lamb shearling, Burberry's latest shoe has a fuzzy sole that seeps outwards of the shoe, for an enlarged, cushioned effect. Building upon the fuzzy designs that were debuted last season, Daniel Lee's second Burberry collection explores new embellishments, shapes and colours for the divisive fuzzy shoe.

The fuzzy shoe, sported by Huntington-Whiteley, features a stiletto heel, squared toe and large velvet rose that is positioned front and centre of the heel. Styling her statement shoe with a classic Burberry trench, the model fused Burberry's heritage with its new direction for a playful FROW look.

Another proponent of the new shoe was model Jourdan Dunn, who styled her purple fuzzy heel with a head-to-toe tartan look which saw Dunn in a knitted turtleneck, a co-ordinating skirt and tartan-print tights which were finished off with Burberry's satin step fuzz sandals.

Her statement look leans into Burberry's more playful side, which sees the brand mix heritage prints with bold designs for an eclectic collection that subverts its understated roots.

Australian singer and actress Kylie Minogue also opted for the fuzzy heel for the occasion, which she styled in a purple shade with a green leather trench coat. Arguably quite un-friendly for the changeable British Weather, Minogue pushed ahead, styling her look with sheer tights and coordinating purple nails.

Choosing a more traditional take on Burberry styling, actress Jodie Comer wore a strapless grey tartan dress with black knee-high biker boots from the British brand. Forgoing accessories, Comers looks felt fresh and light for the day-time runway show.

Since Riccardo Tisci's appointment as Burberry's creative director in 2018, it's safe to say that the British brand's following has expanded and diversified to a great extent. Now the chief creative officer, Italy-born Tisci has worked to reimagine the heritage house's aesthetic, combining both streetwear elements alongside more classical styles and blending them effortlessly to appeal to both a new and existing audience. It's a careful balancing act he previously honed at Givenchy, where he was one of the first designers to really open up an elite name to newer clientele who look for hype products—do you remember the sweatshirts? Tisci's fans buy into a brand not only because of its look but also because of what it stands for. He is, therefore, very modern in his approach, considering customers with different personal styles and different backgrounds with his finger firmly on the cultural pulse and ensuring that the company supports important social-good projects (such as the #DanceAndDonate TikTok project featuring Marcus Rashford). A Burberry trench coat will never, ever be a silly investment. They are a time-honoured classic that every wardrobe can benefit from—not only in a practical sense but also in a stylistic one. I know fashion experts who are always on the hunt for pre-loved styles (Eunice wears a vintage one here), but there are some super-new iterations to check out, too. The below style with denim panelling is very, very cool.

MONOGRAM

One of Tisci's first headline moves for the brand back in 2018 was to relaunch the logo and monogram. The logo had been the same for 20 years until he commissioned revered graphic designer and art director Peter Saville to give it a new lease of life. The intertwined TB motif manages to be at once brand new and entirely nostalgic. Some women have been so enthralled that they've been known to wear it head-to-toe, as you'll find it on everything from silk foulards to tights (the latter have been particularly popular of late). There's even a surfboard rendered in the pattern, should you require it.

TAILORING

Naturally, Burberry is well known for its outerwear, but Tisci is a fantastic tailor, so it would be wrong to ignore the jackets and trousers on option. The trousers? Long and lean. The jackets? All about the waist pinch. They're future heirlooms if you ask me.

CHECK

It almost goes without saying, doesn't it? The iconic vintage-style Burberry check never dies! You'll find it in traditional colourways but also in some new and exciting combinations. It's used across almost everything the brand has under its roof—from sneakers to coats and back again.

It's a story as old as time. Girl sees designer item she cannot afford, girl subsequently falls in love and saves for an entire year to make it hers, and the two live happily ever after. Of course, in this somewhat autobiographical tale, the girl was a 16-year-old me, and the designer item in question was a beautiful, hand-illustrated Fendi silk scarf that I saw in an airport. I worked a very unglamorous job at a local bakery in order to afford it, and honestly, every single flour-covered hour was worth it. 

As far as designer purchases go, I'd say a scarf is the ultimate first luxury buy. You get all the excitement of shopping a designer brand without the eye-wateringly high price of a leather handbag or a ready-to-wear piece. 

Designer scarves are also hugely versatile. Within the first few years of owning mine, I wore it as a necktie, a belt, and a headband. I tied it around handbags as an additional accessory and even folded the scarf in half to fashion it as a top. In the years since, the item has claimed its rightful position as a piece of artwork on my bedroom wall. (The scarf features illustrated images of Fendi Baguette bags in an array of colours, so really, I should have known it was artwork all along.) 

For a first designer purchase, I couldn't recommend a scarf enough, and with each luxury fashion house creating its own unique designs, it can be quite easy to fall in love with a scarf (or two). Anna Wintour is getting into the holiday spirit. In the newest video for Vogue's Go Ask Anna series, she was asked several questions about gifting, holiday parties, winter trends, and more—and of course, she knew exactly how to answer each. When someone asked her which celebrity she should look to for holiday outfits, Wintour answered Kate Middleton without hesitation. "She always looks absolutely impeccable." And as for the gift you should give your mother-in-law, Wintour has a genius idea: a framed photo of your partner with your mother-in-law.

Some people dream about the perfect wedding dress. As for me, I used to dream about owning the perfect trench coat. Namely, one of Burberry’s iconic designs.

Don’t get me wrong. I did love my actual wedding dress, but honestly, I’ve not looked at it in the years since I wore it. My Burberry trench coat, on the other hand, I've worn countless times, and I pull it out every year, basically wearing it from the moment the leaves begin to turn brown at the start of autumn all the way through to the first crisp signs of spring.

As well as an increasingly low cost-per-wear, the reason it’s such a great investment is that it goes with everything in my wardrobe—from basic everyday outfits to dressier evening looks.

If you're in London, you need only take a walk past Burberry's iconic New Bond Street boutique or the countless vintage stores selling them in Brick Lane to realise how ubiquitous the style is. As British as a cup of English breakfast tea, if there's a coat that can withstand the mercurial and cold UK weather, it's the Burberry trench coat.

The History of the Burberry Trench Coat

Although trench coats have been around for over 100 years, the overall look of a 'classic style' has barely changed at all—which makes sense. The first trench wasn’t designed with fashion or trends in mind. Much like other garments now considered timeless (jeans, boots, etc.), it was created out of necessity.

The British army needed coats that were both lightweight and weather-resistant, and thanks to Thomas Burberry’s pioneering innovation of gabardine cotton in 1879, the designer was approached to create new coats to suit military needs. The garment was then worn throughout World War I by soldiers fighting in the trenches (hence the name).

Soon after, trench coats were translated into civilian life as returning soldiers wore them outside of wartime.

Then came Hollywood stars wearing them on film⁠—Humphrey Bogart famously wore one in Casablanca, as did Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The ’60s, however, are when style started to overtake function. The Burberry coat became a true fashion item, with features such as the D-ring and storm flap becoming more of a statement.

Is a Burberry Trench Coat Worth the Cost?

If you're looking to make an investment that will last you forever, though, it surely has to be one of the heritage classics. While the more directional styles might make collectors items one day, in my opinion, a trench is supposed to be worn again and again (as is anything you're spending this kind of money on). Whether you opt for iconic beige or a more subtle black or navy version, it's very unlikely to be a purchase you regret.

In fact, stylist and closest curator Laura P. Barker agrees. "I focus on quality over quantity and believe a Burberry trench is a hero piece absolutely worth the investment," she tells us.

"I bought my Burberry trench in London over 15 years ago and I continue to love and wear it season after season." Whilst the upfront cost is more than the average high-street trench, you need to consider its long-term wearability.

"There are three words I teach when investing in a designer piece: cost per wear," says Barker. "Just imagine the cost per wear when you wear a piece 10 times a year for 20 years. It’s a sustainable way to look at investing in a piece that transcends trends and lasts for years."

These jackets are also made to last far longer than cheaper versions. Barker points out that they're "beautifully constructed" and will appeal to shoppers who "value quality, craftsmanship and details." Not only that, but she says the tailoring is second to none, helping "elevate a casual look instantly." Are Burberry Trench Coats Waterproof?

A trench from the brand also perfectly encapsulates both style and function. It's ideal for grey autumn days and unpredictable spring weather. Although Burberry trench coats are not waterproof, the gabardine is water-resistant. 'It’s thick and holds up to rain,' says Barker. 'But I do recommend bringing an umbrella if it’s a total downpour.'

Washing a Burberry trench is different from your everyday laundry and requires a gentler level of care. Barker says that it's best to 'dry clean when needed by an organic reputable dry cleaner or spot clean with mild soap.'

Even better, one of the best things about investing in a Burberry trench coat is that the brand offers services for all of this too, including alterations, cleaning and re-proofing, repairs and replacement, so it really can be a forever piece and you won't have to worry about trying to clean it yourself or handing it over to another company.

I can feel it already. Riccardo Tisci’s first full runway collection will undoubtedly inspire a number of women to revisit the luxury brand’s offering. The first section of the spring 2018 catwalk, with its sophisticated neutral colour palette and flattering shapes, sealed that deal. However, it’s not the only part of this storied fashion house he has artfully approached since stepping in as chief creative officer last year.

The former creative director of Givenchy has established both a new logo inspired by founder Thomas Burberry and (time would only tell, right?) and reworked the most recognisable style signature of them all: the brand’s icon plaid.

As seen last month on Kate Moss in a resplendent matching checked shirt-and-trousers co-ord from the brand’s hotly anticipated collaboration between Riccardo Tisci, Vivienne Westwood and Andreas Kronthaler, this was further confirmation of what I had started to sense.

No other fabric has experienced highs and lows quite like Burberry’s checks. With legacy and a certain appeals-to-all allure comes a great deal of affection, and I’m ready to dive head first into it again. It looks like the Instagram set are, too, with influencers from every age bracket breathing new life into the print.

A handful of young ones may not recall this plaid being big back in the ’90s (remember was a particularly iconic campaign that featured Moss in her checked wedding gown?), but many of the "new” ways girls are wearing the check lean toward that era’s streetwear aesthetic.

T minus 15 days until the royal wedding. While Meghan Markle is leaving everyone guessing about her wedding dress, there's no debating one fact: She makes pieces sell like crazy. To wit, our friends at Poshmark compiled data that revealed the most coveted items she's worn since the engagement news. Poshmark analysed how purchases increased after Markle wore certain pieces, and the numbers are definitely impressive.

The number one item on the list, of course, was the Gucci bag she wore last month. According to Poshmark, purchases for the bag increased by a whopping 214% after she was spotted with it, while sales of her Mackage coat increased by 193%. Rounding out the list of most sought-after items: Markle's Mulberry bag, which increased by 95%, and her Burberry coat, which increased by 80%. Third time's a charm. It model Adwoa Aboah has again teamed up with Burberry and photographer Juergen Teller, for the third and final chapter of their dreamy portfolio series. After shooting in New York and London, this time Aboah headed to Ghana to celebrate her West African heritage—and the fun, colourful photos are exactly what we need to get us through the week.

"We knew from the beginning that we wanted to shoot in Ghana. We wanted to show a beautiful story of these three places I am so lucky to have in my life—I moved to New York, I have this lovely family where I've grown up in West London, and I have Ghana," Aboah said in a statement exclusive to Who What Wear. "It's so important for me to show everyone this other world that I'm also a part of, the place where my dad grew up and the house he spent his whole life living in, and to show where it all started."

In one image, Aboah poses with her Ghanian relatives, including her grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, and cousin—and they're all wearing outfits they designed from Burberry Vintage check fabric. How cool is that? Scroll down to see the beautiful new photos.

As one of the world’s most in-demand models, many images have been projected upon Cara Delevingne. She’s gone from Burberry favourite to Chanel ingénue and from Mulberry collaborator to Dior darling, but Delevingne has quickly proved herself as more than just a one-trick pinup. But the most enduring image of the Londoner is the one that she has crafted herself: funny and spirited but with a sensitive side. The 25-year-old quickly carved out her own identity at a time when a gruelling schedule saw her travel all over the world and quickly become one of the paparazzi’s most-stalked subjects.

Unlike her sister Poppy’s boho style, Cara was a key player in streetwear being adopted by the masses, throwing together bomber jackets with multicoloured beanies and bold striped jeans with zany sunglasses. Her handbags have always been designer, but not in a flashy way (and then she designed her own). As her CV evolved to include actress and author credits, so did her style. Tuxedo jackets replaced minidresses on the red carpet once she found her stride in the spotlight, but that doesn’t mean she can’t do bombshell glamour too. In effect, Delevingne has her signature looks, but she’s also a walking contradiction, which is what makes her public appearances and off-duty looks so intriguing.

We’ve charted the model’s style evolution below just to sum up exactly what makes her one of our favourite dressers.

Back in 2010, Cara Delevingne, a little-known London model in the making, started working the party circuit. The 18-year-old was all Bambi legs and long blonde hair, showing off her physique in a Roberto Cavalli minidress.

British brand Burberry was quick to take note of teen Cara’s potential, casting her in its digital campaigns and dressing her in its iconic trench coats from the get-go.

With campaigns for big brands quickly making Delevingne a name to watch, her personal style became more affirmed. Her go-to staples—stripy trousers, clumpy ankle boots and tailored jackets—were always topped off with a beanie for good measure.

See? It’s a tried-and-trusted formula by which we quickly came to recognise the youngest Delevingne sister.

By 2013, that streetwear-inspired look had become even edgier as Cara’s confidence grew.

But by no means was the model’s style stagnant. At the 2013 Met Gala, Delevingne nailed the punk theme by wearing a studded Burberry gown and accessorising accordingly. The result was beautifully rebellious.

Back in 2013, Delevingne showed up to Cannes in old-school Hollywood glamour: black lace, smoky makeup and lashings of diamonds.

It wasn’t long before Cara’s infectious personality and maverick style lead to a covetable collaboration. In 2014, she launched a range of hugely desirable backpacks and handbags designed for Mulberry (of which she was never seen without).

Cara’s party style then evolved to encompass smart tuxedo suits that were always worn with an irreverent touch—be it sheer shirting or nothing at all underneath.

As a top model, black is (of course) one of Delevingne’s staple colours, as seen here in an edgy Burberry outfit for the brand’s London Fashion Week show in 2015.

In 2015, Delevingne wore perhaps the most Audrey Hepburn–inspired outfit we’ve ever seen for a Chanel party in London.

Swapping the catwalk for the front row, Cara made Chanel separates look effortless for a 20-something woman as she took her seat at the brand’s show in 2015.

This smart look is typical of Delevingne: Slightly rebellious but approachable and always photo-worthy. (The model has also been a consistent champion of the underwear-as-outerwear trend.)

This has to be one of our favourite beauty looks (as well as nighttime looks) sported by Delevingne. The minidress offset with sheer tights, the voluminous cape, the groomed brows and the dramatic chest ink is just too good.

A new haircut (for a role in Life in a Year) made Cara the girl to be seen with at the 2017 Met Gala. In an elegant nod to the event’s sci-fi theme, the model-turned-actress dazzled in a beautifully embellished pantsuit by Chanel.

Cara stole all the headlines in a futuristic minidress (worthy of her friend Rihanna) at the Mexico premiere of Valerian in Atelier Versace.

This is a direct apology to all tourists. To the globe-trotting adventurers whose style has consistently looked enthusiastically overprepared. It turns out: You were just early trend adopters.

The so-wrong-they're-right (read: ugly) sneakers. The over-pocketed shorts that hit above-the-knee. Bright socks that refuse to fall down. Bum bags. Tracksuits. Before this year, I would have written these pieces off as entirely "uncool".

But it's 2018, and it's a year of great, unexpected change. Now, many of the stereotypical tourist go-tos have found themselves circling around the high-fashion hub and landing on our S/S 18 trend report. What's happening? Practi-core? Tourist-core? I don't know, but I'm finding myself edging towards these once no-go items and looks on a day-to-day basis.

So I thought I'd test and update three "typical tourist" outfits—asking my model friend Sierra Spear to brunt the embarrassment outside the British Museum for me. As it turns out, there are ways to try these (actually quite sensible) trends without just looking like an American dad on his first trip to London. Here's how.

This look nods to the tourist who just wants to blend in. They live for things "sooo English," can't wait to visit Buckingham Palace, and spend hours trying to find the real London Bridge. Keen as can be, they also look shockingly like an extra for the Gosha Rubinsky x Burberry campaign.

Style Notes: Update this look by adding an It colour of the year throughout your outfit—we went for socks and accessories.

Style Notes: Nothing screams "dad on tour" like a boxy floral shirt and cargo shorts—only in fashion echelons, the shirt is more likely to be Marc Jacobs than Matalan. This tourist knows "all the best places" despite never having been to the city. They have four kinds of plasters, extra batteries, a water bottle, a proper camera (no amateur business here, thanks) and a wad of currencies in their bum bag.

Nothing marks the start of the chilly season like a Fair Isle knit. They may be almost 100 years old (some of the first date back to the early 1920s), but you can always rely on designers to inject them with a new lease of life every few season. Now we know what you're thinking—they've been known to fall on the cheesy side of winter dressing. But you only have to look at Burberry's latest runway offering to see that 2017 is finally the year that Fair Isle gets the super-chic treatment it deserves. Even Victoria Beckham and Stella McCartney are on board.

Fluffy jackets, wool coats and cute ankle boots are all very well, but when it comes to declaring that you've officially let go of the Indian Summer dream and are looking firmly towards the days of mulled wine and spiced lattes—that's the job of a Fair Isle, and we're planning on debuting ours a lot earlier this year, i.e., now.

As per usual, we've done all the leg work for you and rounded up the very best Fairisle jumpers out there. You're definitely going to want to wear all of these stat—we'll be teaming ours with a miniskirt, tights and a vinyl trench for October.

Burberry's heritage check: Officially making an enormous comeback from, ooh, approximately 15 minutes ago. Christopher Bailey's September 2017 show tonight—held within the crumbling, charming confines of Clerkenwell's Sessions House and with Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Anna Wintour looking on—was an absolute blinder.

There was much to complement the cheery, ironic, tongue-in-cheek uses of the brand's signature weave, and we learnt that there is nothing that it won't go with: First the tartan was paired with jazzy argyle knits (they also came layered underneath posh pac-a-macs in pastel colours), then it was paired with embroidered gauzy dresses in equally sweet shades, as well as printed cone-heel sandals worn with socks, gigantic trench coats, silk-satin midis, fuzzy coats, elaborate military frogging splashed across jackets and skirts. In essence, the new collection, which is available to shop from NOW, was like a compendium of Burberry's greatest hits, new and old.

But back to the check—because that's what we, and an entire fashion nation, will be rushing to buy first. It came in baseball caps perched atop the wondrous heads of Adwoa Aboah and Kaia Gerber. It arrived in roomy tote bags and oversized, hooded outerwear, padded gilets and so much more.

The effect? Less city gent more streetwear, via the 1980s (think casual Princess Diana–adoring mums and urban mods than the garish decadence of that decade) and with a dose of girlishness, thanks to the crystal chandelier earrings (worn solo) and the abundance of pink. On paper, this combination could sound slightly mad, in reality, it made for a perfectly modern fashion mash-up: Individual and full of references that in-the-know types will appreciate but still resplendent with classics that will see you through the next 50 years—that's mandatory of a Burberry trench, right?

Two of the world’s most influential fashion icons, Kate Moss and Jordan Dunn, are modelling the sisterhood in action by taking on a mentoring role with their young contemporaries—namely model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne and rising star Neelam Gill.

This weekend London played host to the event Women in the World, where Cara Delevingne took to the stage, took off her shoes to get comfy, and opened up about how Kate Moss had helped her through difficult times in her early modeling career. "I had no concept of saying no to anyone, ever. After a while I got sick and got a condition called psoriasis. I felt disconnected from myself, but my agency simply shoved me into a doctor's surgery, where I got cortisone shots, but - in reality - I wanted someone to stop me, but nobody did," reports the Daily Mail.

Cara went on to credit Moss as the person who stepped in and helped her strike a balance with her back-to-back catwalk schedule and 24/7 photo shoot campaigns. "I never felt like I was good enough, that I deserved success. I felt like I was living somebody else's dream. Kate Moss saved me - she stepped in and picked me up off the floor at a stressful time."

Another pair of Burberry poster girls to develop a supportive sisterly relationship was seasoned catwalk star Jordan Dunn and the up-and-coming Coventry–born Neelam Gill, who sat next to each other on the Burberry FROW for the S/S 16 show. A highly successful model and mother, Dunn has walked for the biggest fashion houses in the industry from Victoria’s Secret to Saint Laurent, so she has been able to share some of her wisdom with rising star Neelam.

Gill’s first modeling job saw her booked as the main model for the 2013 Burberry winter campaign, and later that year she walked for the British brand for its S/S 15 collection. She told ELLE UK how she practiced walking in her parents’ back garden and relied on Dunn as a big-sister figure in the industry. "Jourdan Dunn always gives me good advice. She's become like a big sister to me, and she always looks out for me."

Personally, I love mine for days when I just look exhausted! I stock up on different frame options for diversity.

Nice but functional luggage is important because we spend a lot of time travelling. Luggage that's physically attractive is great, but more importantly, it needs to function properly.

Congratulations! It's a girl! After months and months of anticipation, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge welcomed a baby girl today, May 2 at 8:34 a.m. Prince George's new sister weighed 8lbs 3oz.

I personally would invest in a great handbag. It’s something that you use every day and, in a neutral colour, will last you for many years.

You need a beautiful pair of flats and a classic pair of heels. Select pairs that give a bit of personality to any outfit, but at the same time can be paired with almost anything. I also like to make sure I have a great pair of flats that I can wear on the days I know I’ll be on my feet all day, but still need to look dressed.

You might remember that a little-known actor named Ryan Gosling broke hearts everywhere several weeks ago when the news broke that he and Eva Mendes had a baby girl. Well, now, we know her name.

TMZ obtained the birth certificate for the child, who was born September 12 in Santa Monica, California. Her name is Esmeralda Amada Gosling, a name that, according to Us Weekly, took most of its inspiration from female relatives on Mendes' side of the family.
