Whilst I was committed to my selection of chunky earrings to dress up my low-key looks for many seasons in a row, this summer, without even realising, I've been glossing over my usual go-tos and heading straight for a stack of bangles without a second thought.

For Pia Mance, the Australian wunderkind behind Hailey Bieber, Sofia Richie Grainge and Florence Pugh’s go-to jewellery brand, Heaven Mayhem, the most important jewellery trends for 2025 are the ones that make the biggest splash. Heaven Mayhem's designs are like catnip for cool girls, and are always seen on the most influential and stylish women, so it’s safe to say she knows a thing or two about spotting trends—and setting them.

"As the weather warms up, I think we will be seeing some bigger pendant pieces but with a longer length," Mance says. "Think pendants that hit the mid-waist, styled with a bikini."

Style Notes: Whilst resin and acrylic bangels have emerged as one of the most in-demand summer microtrends, a chunky bangle is more enduring. "Sculptural designs," according to Whiting, are one of the year's biggest trends, encompassing the organic, anatomically-inspired shapes of Tiffany & Co.'s Elsa Peretti Bone Cuff to the fluid forms of Saint Laurent's high jewellery.

"With my background in architecture, I am normally drawn to very graphic references," Whiting says. The ring version of this design is the brand's best-seller, and Whiting notes that these shapes are "striking pieces that capture the spirit of art deco through a modern lens. Style Notes: Much has already been said about the state of the diamond industry. The term "lab-grown", whilst a part of the collective lexicon, still has a lot of uncertainty hovering around it. "I'm anticipating a renewed interest in natural-coloured gemstones and diamonds, particularly those that are truly one of a kind," she tells me.

"This includes diamonds with unique or speciality cuts, warmer tones such as champagnes and light yellows and genuine antique diamonds that carry rarity and character. There will also be a continued move towards full traceability for natural diamonds, from mine to market, a shift driven by consumers seeking authenticity and uniqueness."

This season, there are "no dos or don’ts," Mance affirms. I have always been obsessed with jewellery. And it seems I'm not alone, because this summer there are plenty of fresh new jewellery trends dominating my social media feed.

Of course, there are a number of timeless styles that are coming back to the forefront of our accessorising minds, such as the layered necklaces look—which is such an easy way to elevate otherwise understated outfits. But nostalgia also seems to be playing a key role. Stacks of bracelets, cord necklaces and oversized hoops have all made a comeback from their 90s and Noughties heyday, all with a timely upgrade. Fraying black cord necklaces with pukka shells have been replaced with seriously chic styles adorned with sculptural metalwork that will surely appeal to the minimalist, while designers are reimagining the simple hoop with embellishments that maximalists will definitely appreciate.

I've long looked to Bella Hadid when on the hunt for new-season outfit inspiration. Often one of the first to debut a new trend, Hadid manages to weave interesting items into her daily outfits in a way that feels chic and wearable. My love of jewellery knows no bounds. With a mother boasting an enviable collection of ‘80s jewellery, including doorknocker earrings, Grecian style wrist cuffs and a collection of African gold (dreamy, non?), you could say I was destined for life as a magpie and indeed I followed suit. In 2023 I took this one step further and had a bracelet welded, so a fine, unassuming chain sits on my wrist and despite my initial worry about its permanence, it’s become like second skin. There’s an unrivalled sentimental value to jewellery, which is why it always makes a heartfelt gift and over the past few years, bracelets (in particular, the simple kind) have become a jewellery hero, inspiring the rise in welded bracelet services.

Noughties trends were geared towards playfully stacked bracelets (the type you could hear on ones person before you saw them) however, now the trends are favouring contemporary-feeling forever pieces. Cartier’s Love bangle (albeit chunkier than the average) became a highly sought-after accessory, with fashion people decorating their wrists with a single or many, and although it’s proven itself to be an imitable investment piece, there’s been a gradual shift towards refined jewellery – weightless pieces that are easy to wear regardless of the occasion.

I searched high and low and pulled together some of my favourite simple bracelets. Wear them on their own for a laid-back feel, or layer them for a more-is-more look. You might not realise it (thanks to its demure size), but you’re never far away from a Cartier Love bracelet. First created over 50 years ago, it’s still as popular as ever and holding its place as one of the most sought-after luxury items in the world. Plenty of celebrities and influencers own the classic band, from the likes of Kylie Jenner to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The History of the Cartier Love Bracelet:

When you start delving into the world of the Cartier Love bracelet, you realise it’s surrounded by legend. When originally designed in 1969, it was thought to have been inspired by the chastity belt. To this day, to get it on and off, you have to use a screwdriver. “What modern people want are love symbols that look semipermanent—or at least, require a trick to remove. After all, love symbols should suggest an everlasting quality,” said Cartier’s Aldo Cipullo at the time of its creation. Cartier even created a YouTube tutorial to help the fastening and unfastening process be that little bit easier.

There are other romantic lores that surround the iconic piece of jewellery. When the item was first launched, the brand apparently only sold them to couples (who would gift each other their screwdrivers). Cartier also gifted high-profile couples, such as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, and Ali McGraw and Steve McQueen, but the widespread fervour for this one item in modern times was summed up when Vogue reported that NYC hospitals had to keep one of the screwdrivers handy just in case they needed to remove one of the bracelets from a patient.
