Agolde is a California-based denim brand that has practically become the, well, gold standard for high-quality jeans. Style Notes: As someone who counts Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy as the ultimate jeans muse, it should come as no surprise to see me gravitate towards a classic cigarette-style straight-leg pair. The Harper is a relaxed style that still boasts enough stiffness to feel polished and premium through the leg. (Because there is nothing worse than ruching through the knee or too much gathering around the ankle.) Despite being a little long for my tastes, and specifically, my stature, I didn’t find them disproportionate around the hip. As a true mid-rise, I wish they sat slightly higher around my waist than they do, but I didn’t find them to cause any unflattering bulging. What I loved most, however, was just how comfortable they felt. A true second-skin finish, the material was incredibly soft and breathable, which is perfect for a city dweller like myself who is always on the move about town. Style Notes: The ‘90s Pinch Jeans are one of Agolde’s best-selling styles. Inspired by the decade in which the brand was founded, the shape takes cues from the cuts that were prominent at the time. Think: Bum-tight, taut around the ankle, cropped at the leg and as straight as a razor. After being recommended this pair by my chic colleague and Who What Wear UK’s resident jean expert, Shopping Editor Florrie Alexander, I knew that they were bound to meet the hype. Whilst they weren’t as comfortable as the Harper, they did feel really lived-in, almost like I found them in a curated archival boutique. Off the bat, I do have to say that this style will really only work for those who enjoy their jeans fitted quite close to the body. As the name suggests, the style is characterised by a signature “pinched” effect at the waist. The effect is quite sculptural and sleek, but for those who don’t enjoy the hem of their jeans prodding into their tummy, I will say that this won’t be the size for you. I did find myself wishing for a size up, which ultimately is a risk you have to take when shopping online. However, the way they lifted my bum and smoothed my legs is something I can’t fault.

3. Agolde Low Rise Loose in Pure

Style Notes: Now, I’m not typically a wide-leg jeans or low-rise jeans person, but there’s just something about this style that was so hard to put down. For days when I wanted to slip into something more casual yet still considered, this is the pair I found myself returning to. Perfect for a pint on Saturday afternoon or a more ritzy evening dinner at one of London’s hottest small plates restaurants, this pair suited it all in spades. What I loved most was how languid they were, and yet never slouchy. On the contrary, they were hardly rigid to the touch, but still comprised that buttery feeling that Agolde has come to be known for. What let them down was the fact that the fabric lacked very little stretch, which felt hard to break in at first because the firmer material had me walking around like Bambi taking his first steps. Once the jeans gave out to my measurements, I did find myself not wanting to take them off, which is the ultimate testament one could give a pair of jeans.

Style Notes: Despite the styling on Agolde’s website hinting this style leans towards a more ‘00s attitude, from the moment I put them on, I found myself channelling a different era entirely. If you can’t tell from my perfect white t-shirt (Leset) or basket bag (M&S), these curved and cropped jeans reminded me of the late fashion starlet, Jane Birkin and the ease and hedonism of the ‘60s. The perfect wash of blue, this shade reminded me of a spring morning in Paris or a summer’s evening in Saint Tropez; bright, golden and optimistic. Of the latter, petite women will rejoice in the fact that these trousers are actually cropped, meaning you’ll save a trip to the tailor or the inevitable bugbear of constantly folding and cuffing your hem. The slight roundness through the leg also offers a nice silhouette that offsets fitting tops and balances out boxy jackets, like leather bombers. (Though you’d never catch the Hermés muse in one of those, she’s more of a blazer girl.) The truncated leg length did take some time getting used to, as it’s rare to find the base of my leg exposed when wearing jeans. Nevertheless, I overcame this by leaning into the styling tropes displayed on Michael Ryder’s debut runway as creative director for Celine in the brand’s Spring 2026 runway by teaming them with heeled boots, an oversized coat and a silk scarf that I wrapped around my neck.

5. Agolde Luna High Rise Pieced Taper

Style Notes: Despite never owning a pair of barrel-leg jeans in my life, I was finally made a convert thanks to the Luna style. Slightly bulbous around the mid-part of the leg, I found the shape more of a cowboy-esque horseshoe shape than a true barrel-leg. But semantics aside, I really did enjoy the way this pair gave my body some dimension. With quite a dramatic and sweeping curve, I did find that they looked quite cartoonish online, but really softened when padded out by my thigh. This is the exact sort of thing any well-edited wardrobe would feature as it really does the legwork in elevating basics like black turtlenecks and leather loafers. Once wearing them, I found myself wanting to emulate Audrey Hepburn by tying my hair into a high ponytail and finishing with a ribbon to sweep everything back off my face and letting the silhouette shine.

What to Look Out for When Buying Agolde Jeans?

After reviewing what felt like Agolde's entire catalogue, I noticed a few crucial points to consider when shopping the brand. The main point, which is always the chief concern when buying jeans, is sizing. As someone with a very standard size UK 10 frame, I always find myself opting for a 27-inch waist when wearing denim. Typically, these dimensions will always fit. However, in some specific Agolde cuts, I found them to barely go over my bum.

For instance, the slim-line Cocktail jeans, which are a skinny style designed for occasions where you want to look more considered or dressed up, could hardly move an inch over my waist and didn't even do up, despite me taking my regular size. When Bella Hadid shares a sneak peek inside her makeup bag, you best believe I'm trying out every product she recommends, especially when it comes to foundation. One look at the star's Instagram and you'll see that her skin is practically glowing. I've been dying to know what she uses to achieve this radiant finish. The Formula

Clinique is known and loved for its skincare products, so it's no surprise that this tinted moisturiser has a whole heap of skincare benefits. Designed with both dry and oily skin types in mind, the oil-free formula is packed with hyaluronic acid and activated aloe water, helping to keep the skin looking plump and naturally dewy for up to 12 hours of wear. Thanks to the formula, I also think this product would be an ideal tinted moisturiser for mature skin.

It's a great option for summer as it's both sweat and humidity-resistant. Plus, the natural-looking finish is the perfect mix between matte and glowy, adding a sheer hint of colour to enhance your complexion.

The Shades

I would love to give this product a 10/10, as the formula itself is so impressive, but sadly, the shades do let it down slightly. There are five shades on offer, ranging from Very Light to Medium Deep, and each option contains Mimetic-Shade™ technology to blend flawlessly with a range of skin tones. While the shade Very Light worked well for my skin tone, it would be great to see a wider range of shades in the future, and it would also be great to see a larger selection of shades for deep skin tones.

The Application

Although Bella applies the product with her hands, I decided to use a foundation brush to apply the tinted moisturiser to my skin. While some skin tints can look slightly cakey on me, this blended in like an absolute dream. In fact, I would say that this feels more like a luxurious moisturiser with a very slight hint of colour, compared to other base products I have tried, where the skincare elements can feel like an afterthought.

I have to say, I am impressed with this product. I thought it would be like all other tinted moisturisers I have tried, but straight after applying it, I could tell that this formula had been designed with skincare in mind. Not only that, but it's one of the only tinted moisturisers I have tried that gives a more naturally dewy-looking finish. As someone with both dry and oily skin, I often have to opt for hydrating base products that can leave me looking a little more radiant than I would like, but this gives me that healthy-looking, lit-from-within glow that makes it look as if my diet consists of lemon water and green juice (when in reality it's more like diet coke and coffee). Bella, if you're reading, I owe you big time for this recommendation. And Clinique, if you're also reading, please diversify the shade offering.

I must admit when I think of summer outfits, my mind usually goes straight to floaty dresses, linen trousers, and basically anything else that lets my skin breathe. But here in the UK, where sunshine can switch to showers in a split second, jeans remain an essential part of the summer capsule wardrobe. And while denim might not scream “heatwave attire,” there are many ways to make them work for even the hottest of days.

One of the places I like to look to for inspiration is celebrity street style. Unlike the flashy red-carpet gowns and haute couture we often see them in, most celebrities' off-duty outfits are comfortable, chic, and, most importantly, easy to style. There I was, mentally floating away at Jess Bowers's facial studio, a private, speakeasy-like slice of West Village heaven. After my coveted hour with the aesthetician—which was nothing short of dreamy—I gabbed with Bowers about the products and treatments she's loving at the moment. Her answer? A gentle exfoliating jelly (which I added to my cart immediately) and a simple at-home technique, one that doesn't require any fancy tools.

"Honestly, ice bath facials will completely transform your skin," she told me. "Try it for two weeks, and you won't even believe the results." It's as if she unlocked some sort of synchronicity because I kept seeing these at-home ice bath facials everywhere. They were featured in Hailey Bieber's Met Gala prep, present in Bella Hadid's on-set beauty routine, and popping up all over my TikTok feed, so I decided to finally give Bowers's two-week experiment a whirl. True to her word, I'm blown away by my skin's response. Scroll ahead to see the magic, plus every celeb-endorsed detail to know.

What Is an Ice Bath Facial?

An ice bath facial is exactly what it sounds like: dunking your face in ice water. Think of it as a cold plunge for just your face. Rather than throwing on a swimsuit and finding a tub to submerge your whole body, you're simply dipping your face into a large bowl for a few seconds at a time. It's quick and relatively easy and boasts similar skin benefits to a full-on cold plunge. (More on that later!)

To be clear, in no way am I saying that Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber invented the ice water facial. Aestheticians and makeup artists have been championing the practice for years, praising its ability to reduce puffiness and inflammation and tighten the skin. Psychologists have even cited it as a quick DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) technique, as it naturally slows down your heart rate and has a calming effect on the body. Not to mention, cold water immersion is an ancient practice with roots in many cultures.

No, dunking your face in ice water is certainly not a "new" or "trendy" habit, but it has recently been on my TikTok feed more than ever as a form of skin prep and has been made even buzzier with each celebrity endorsement. Essentially, I've known about ice bath facials for ages, but Hadid and Bieber (plus Bowers) inspired me to finally try it for myself.

Benefits for Skin

First and foremost, ice water reduces inflammation, redness and puffiness. It does so by activating a process called vasoconstriction—constricting your blood vessels to result in less blood flow and, thus, swelling. It's the same logic of placing ice on an injury: Limiting blood flow to the area generally reduces inflammation and pain. Even if your face isn't experiencing acute inflammation, the icy temperature dials down any sort of puffiness lingering underneath the surface. "This can vary depending on your diet," noted Bowers. "Say you eat a lot of salty foods or consume alcohol—you may see a faster result of de-puffing the skin."

According to Bowers, the ice bath also tightens pores and actually brightens the skin as your blood circulation starts warming back up. "It wakes you up," she added. There's nothing like an ice-cold dunk to shake away any trace of grogginess!

How It Works

Yes, ice bath facials are meant to be super simple (just dunk and go, right?), but a few important details can enhance your results. First up is the layout. You'll need a large mixing bowl ("A size that can fit [your] whole face in comfortably," advised Bowers), a good amount of ice (two trays should do it, Bowers said), and a soft washcloth or towel to dry your face off post-dunk. You may also want a headband to hold your hair back if you have longer strands.

Place your ice in the bowl and fill it up with water until it reaches two to three inches from the top. Slowly submerge your face into the water and hold it there for 10 to 15 seconds. "I do a slow count to 10 in my head," said Bowers. Lift your face out of the bowl, towel off, then repeat the dunk two to three more times. "However, [I] spread it out between three to five minutes to give the blood flow a chance to recirculate," Bowers noted. On days when I was short on time, I opted for three quick, consecutive dunks, which took around 60 seconds total, but if you can wait a few minutes in between plunges for your skin to naturally warm back up, that's ideal.

In terms of timing, you can give yourself an ice bath facial whenever you please, but Bowers personally prefers to submerge in the morning. "It's great for that morning de-puff from the food or alcohol consumed the night prior," she explained. "It's also a nice morning ritual that doesn't take a lot of time and sets you up for the day." After just seven mornings (if you're dunking consistently), she says you'll start to see transformative skin results. "You will notice tighter and glowier skin [and] definitely will start hearing the compliments roll in around week one," she shared.

My Personal Experience and Results

Allow me to set the scene. I wake up extremely puffy. I sleep on my stomach with my face smashed against the pillow (I know it's not a good position for long-term skin health, but I can't help it!), and it takes me a good hour or two before the swelling finally subsides. Add a salt-heavy dinner or a few glasses of wine into the mix and I can barely find my cheekbones. I do try to commit to a daily lymphatic massage to drain all that fluid retention in my face, but I also am always on a time crunch in the mornings. As much as I hate to admit it, hitting the snooze button just once more trumps a contoured jawline every time.

Bowers swore the ice water facial wouldn't take up too much time in my routine. Even a few seconds each morning, she declared, would leave me with "unbelievable results." I was game—just a two-week commitment, right?

After those 14 days, I was, in fact, floored that I hadn't implemented this simple technique sooner. My skin tone is brighter, my face feels way less puffy, my makeup applies smoother, and my pores look practically nonexistent. All it took was a few minutes each morning. Honestly, the most time-consuming part was filling up the bowl with ice, but I left it on my counter (along with a face towel) to save precious seconds.

I won't lie: Ice water facials take practice. The first few times I dunked, I could only leave my face in the water for about five seconds max. If you've ever braved a cold plunge, then you know how it quite literally takes your breath away. I had that same sensation as I repeatedly dipped my face in the frigid water, but I couldn't actually inhale (my face being submerged and all). I found that it helps if you slowly breathe out of your nose as you lower your face into the bowl. Hold your breath for 10 to 15 seconds, then rise when you feel the need to take another breath. It gets easier with time if you do it consistently.

As you can see from the photo above, my skin is noticeably tighter, especially around my eyes, chin and jawline, which is where I accrue the most puffiness. Both images were taken as soon as I woke up with zero makeup on, save for a swipe of clear lip oil. Somehow, my sallow, dullness-prone complexion became glowy and energized and it's not the lighting at play. Even Bowers saw a major improvement in my skin after the experiment. When I saw her again for a monthly facial, she said she could immediately tell I had been icing. "Keep it up," she encouraged.

Admittedly, there have been mornings I just couldn't get up the gumption to fill my trusty bowl of ice, but I will continue to commit to the routine when I can, especially if I have an important event coming up. Of course, ice water facials will not snatch my jawline long-term (in-office treatments are your best bet for that), but they're superb in a pinch if I need some instant de-puffing, which is not bad for a three-minute technique that doesn't cost you a dime. FYI: I'm getting married in November, so you better believe I'll be face-dunking in the weeks leading up to the big day!

There's no doubt that Bella Hadid is one of the internet's biggest beauty muses. At times in recent history, it's been all about one denim trend or another, and people don't stray from that. But 2025 has proven to be different. One day, it's that skinny jeans are in; the next, it's boot-cut; then back to barrel jeans—and oh, wait, baggy jeans are still in. The next day, everyone will be wearing wide-legs, and so on. Hadid was photographed in sunny Cannes yesterday while in town for the most glamorous of film festivals, and she wore the perfect polished South-of-France outfit. Notably, the outfit included the denim trend that I've noticed fashion people wearing more and more as of late: cropped flare jeans. You could call it a comeback, because approximately 10 years ago, they were all anyone was wearing—myself included. But as you know, in fashion, everything comes back again.

I find cropped flares to be an excellent choice for summer, as they look perfect with sandals, flats, trainers, and heels, and they can easily go from casual to dressed-up in an instant. I think we can all agree that Bella Hadid killed it with her Cannes looks, but then, she's made her way to London and switched up her wardrobe to suit her new location, adding a leather bomber jacket where the high temperature was 13°c. This week, when I spotted a re-emerging shoe trend on Bella Hadid and then came across it multiple times during an evening Instagram scroll, I knew I was on to something special. Hadid arrived in France to attend the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival, which is taking place May 13–24. The Cannes red carpet is known for inspiring fashion and beauty risks, so we think she chose the perfect time to debut a summer hair colour.

Jacob Schwartz, colourist and OLAPLEX Ambassador, was the expert behind her colour transformation. "Bella attends Cannes every year, so it was the perfect moment to do something major," he said in a press release. "Going from a brunette to a blonde is major. Bella is a natural blonde, so sourcing photos of her as a child was a great reference. Using those images and her skin tone led us to this epic, luxurious honey hue. It took two days of colour and a whole lot of Olaplex. The long and dramatic chemical process really depended on her having faith that her hair could withstand it and come out as beautiful as it did."
