Your sense of wanderlust is starting to set in—trust us, we know the feeling—and hopefully you have a slew of awesome travel plans on the horizon. Accordingly, today we’re pleased to present some inspiring airport ensembles from our favorite seasoned globetrotters, including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and more. Take off and arrival has never looked so stylish.
When music festival muse Bosworth turned up at LAX in Zara’s Accordion Pleat Skirt ($80), a Longchamp bag and Rimowa suitcase, and Rodarte’s Snakeskin Embossed Leather Booties ($874), she proved you don’t have to sacrifice your fashion-forward sensibilities just because you’re at the airport.
Airport regular Huntington-Whiteley wowed upon arrival in LA wearing Christopher Kane’s Cutaway Bejeweled Sweatshirt ($3215), styled with Janessa Leone’s Sadie Wool Felt Fedora ($150), J Brand’s Le Skinny de Jeanne Jeans ($199), and Aquazzura slippers.
For ensured comfort on long flights, take a page from Witherspoon’s airport stylebook, and select a pair of silk trousers—bonus points for a brightly printed style. The actress caught our eye at the Miami airport in a Velvet top, MICHAEL Michael Kors pants, a Goyard bag, and Valentino Studded Textured-Leather Sandals ($875).
If you want to skip the pants in lieu of a skirt a la Emma Watson, seen here in A.L.C., ground the dressy piece with a pair of tomboy oxfords.
A comfy coat, like Hathaway’s printed gray and black version, is great for chilly flights and even colder destinations. The actress’ luxe accessories, specifically Fendi’s Colorblock Square Acetate Sunglasses ($340) and MZ Wallace’s Large Metro Tote ($195) in Metro, make for a stylish finish.
For a look that’s relaxed, yet still put together, follow Diaz’s lead, and go for a monochromatic color palette. Arriving at LAX earlier this month, The Other Woman actress wore an oversized gray sweater with gray jeans and suede boots.
A snake print can add instant intrigue to pared-down basics, as seen on Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge, wearing Stella McCartney’s Snake Jacquard Sweatshirt ($585) with Rag & Bone’s Skinny Jeans ($180) in Heritage and the brand’s Newbury Boots ($495) in Deep Brown.
Thanks to the unexpected color combo of mustard yellow (Gucci’s Bright Diamante Leather Top Handle Bag ($2100), specifically) and plum (Rag & Bone jeans), Girls actress Allison Williams’ low-key airport look is far from understated.
For a trip to Rio de Janeiro early this month, Moss showcased her eccentric side in a graphic t-shirt paired with leopard-print drawstring trousers and Azzedine Alaia ankle booties.
The quickest way to a noteworthy en-route ensemble is a bright coat, as demonstrated by Rita Ora wearing JOSEPH's Kangaroo Sydney Coat ($2848) at Heathrow Airport last week. Teamed with all-white separates, the singer’s neon orange was the centerpiece of her look.
Resist the urge to wear yoga pants on the plane, and try a pair of stretch leather leggings for a more of-the-moment look. Game of Thrones beauty Emilia Clarke did just this last month at JFK in T by Alexander Wang’s Stretch-Leather Pants ($1150) and Manolo Blahnik’s Soussaba d’Orsay Flats ($645).

Our favorite fashion moguls are famous for layering up at the airport, but we’re particularly fond of their matching socks and Birkenstocks. The slip-on footwear comes in handy when going through security.
Forever 21 Boho Doll Fringe Scarf ($11)
A printed scarf can easily wake up a mix of understated neutrals.
H&M Wool-Blend Sweater ($50)
Stash this printed knit in your carry-on as an easy layer for chilly flights.
James Jeans Twiggy Legging Jeans ($158)
If you’re going to go casual on top—think: sweatshirt or graphic t-shirt—throw on a pair of dark-wash skinny jeans to add instant polish.
Joie Dane Top ($138)
If you want to channel Lily Aldridge’s effortless airport look, pick up this snake-print blouse immediately.
Mara Hoffman Eye-to-Eye Joggers ($248)
Not only do these trousers show off your playful sensibilities, the relaxed fit is ideal for long hauls across the globe.
Rag & Bone Wide Brim Fedora ($195)
A wide-brim hat offers the ideal way to conceal airplane-induced bedhead.
Senso Brigette Cement Croc Print Boots ($382)
Leave the ballet flats at home, and add an element of cool to your look with a pair of croc-print ankle boots.
Topshop Croc Leather Shopper Bag ($76)
A large leather carry-on is great for storing all your in-flight essentials, like magazines, a scarf, and snacks.
Tory Burch Panama Sunglasses ($195)
The best travel secret? A chic pair of sunnies to cover tired plane eyes.
Zara Pique Coat ($139)
Make the ultimate style statement (and never get lost in airport crowds) with a bright coat.
