When a blogger flexes her entrepreneurial muscles and launches her own self-funded fashion line, we’re can't help but wonder what will she do next. In the case of Danielle Bernstein, the answer would be to launch collection number two shortly afterward, of course. Following last month's reveal of her Second Skin Overalls collection, the blogger behind We Wore What has announced today that she’s also teamed up for her first footwear collection, Archive Shoes.
“Second Skin Overalls is a brand I launched completely on my own, financially and creatively. The Archive Shoes is a project I have been collaborating on with Jordan Adoni from Modern Vice Factory," Bernstein clarifies. "I've always been a huge fan of the chic construction and comfort of the boots made at what I call 'the magic factory' — and have designed specific pairs with Jordan over the past five years. Releasing a collection under a new brand name seemed like a seamless next step."
The initial lineup features a range of ankle booties that are inspired by New York City. With that said, they're not the kind of heels that would leave you teeter-tottering over cobblestones. "There were specific details about the boots that coincide with streets," says Bernstein, adding, "The Archive is actually the name of a building I used to live in in the West Village. [The boot names] were all the streets that surround it and shaped my everyday life."
