Bomber jackets exploded onto the scene a few seasons ago, but instead of fading away after their 15 minutes of fame, the trend has only gotten stronger. “Bomber jackets are effortlessly casual and still as classic and cool as a denim jacket,” says Los Angeles–based blogger Sonya Esman, explaining why the jacket is especially popular among West Coast fashion girls. “Temperatures drop so abruptly in L.A., and the city is huge on the casual-chic trend,” Esman says.
Looking for a new jacket for fall? It girl–approved denim brand Hudson just launched a line of bombers perfect for building outfits around, and Esman says the line complements her sporty-chic style seamlessly. “Plus, the Hudson bomber is probably the plushest and most comfortable one I’ve ever found,” added Esman, the founder of popular fashion blog Class Is Internal.

Decked out in her military-inspired Hudson bomber and high-waisted jeans, Esman keeps an eye out for her Uber driver en route to happy hour. “I love pairing a bomber jacket with skinny jeans because it harmonizes with the oversize factor of the jacket,” she advises. “I also add pointed-toe boots to the look to take the masculine, sporty jacket to a whole new level,” she adds.
In a city filled with fashion girls, it can be difficult to stand out in L.A.—for that reason, Esman likes to turn to her stylish staple when she’s heading out with friends. “This bomber will turn heads anywhere you go,” says Esman, who moonlights as a videographer and a model in addition to running her blog. (She also waxed poetic over her love for Polaroids.)
Tacos and happy hour are enough to make any L.A. girl smile, but so is comfort—why do you think so many of us wear sneakers 24/7? “This jacket feels almost like I’m wearing a down blanket; it’s beyond comfortable,” Esman says.
