Eleonora Carisi

Eleonora Carisi is more than just an adored style blogger; she's also a fashion enthusiast with an incredible eye for emerging designers and an impressive work ethic. Before starting JouJou Villeroy two years ago--a blog that covers beauty, lifestyle and design, fashion news, and street style--Carisi became the proprietor of YouYou Store in 2006, a concept boutique in her hometown of Turin, Italy, that sells pieces from up-and-coming artists alongside some of her own designs. All the while, she's managed a successful career as a stylist and model, most recently as the face of the Jimmy Choo 24:7 Stylemakers and Just Cavalli's "I Lock Your Love" campaigns. Resume aside, what earns this Italian beauty, with her violet dip-dyed hair and signature Cindy Crawford mole, the admiration of so many fashion fans is her perennially chic sensibilities and fearless approach to dressing. We pay homage to the street style favorite in this month's Style Stalker.
An oversized, bubblegum pink sweatshirt with a giant monster eye and ruffles on the sleeves may be intimidating for most, but for Carisi, it's simply a backdrop for displaying a stone-encrusted statement necklace. And that's just one example of our stalkee's risk-taking aesthetic. On any given afternoon, you might find her in a cobalt blue party dress with a feathered skirt or outfitted in a casual mix of pretty pastels punctuated with neon yellow heels; while unexpected, these outfits hint at current trends in noteworthy ways. We can appreciate her simpler styling tricks too, like adding texture to a LBD with a sheer white raincoat or balancing a bright frock with black accents, as the outcome always feels fresh. Want to get Carisi's look? We show you how here, plus don't miss our chat with the tastemaker below, where she reveals her closet go-tos, favorite places to shop, and more.--Jessica Baker

Q&A with Eleonora
Please describe your personal style in two sentences or less.
An energetic milkshake with bright, acid orange colors flavored with hot chili in the perfect South Italy style.

How does the city you live in inspire your day-to-day style?
My city is called The Grey Turin, and thusly inspires me to do the opposite. There's a little place in me that allows dark colors, but only when I watch Six Feet Under and not because I want to dress in black with the classic white collar. My inspiration transcends from things like the idea of the sun behind a cloud.

List some of your favorite current trends and why you appreciate them/how you are wearing them.
Patterns: the idea that nothing makes sense gives meaning to everything. I like to mix lines with rhombus shapes, circles with flowers, and overlapping colors. Glitter: a woman should shine for every occasion, whether it's with the help of a sequin skirt, glitter shoes, or opulent accessories, such as necklaces with gemstones and dangling earrings.

Who is your style icon?
Anna Piaggi.

Name one go-to piece in your closet and why.
I recently bought a pair of Acne boots with massive heels that make you look taller (but not too much) and let you dance all night long in the worst bars of Caracas without losing your feminine, rock and roll style. They are perfect with skinny jeans and long skirts.
