Typically, when you think about seasonal trends, you think about specific styles like off-the-shoulder tops (still everywhere, by the way) or wide-leg pants (ditto). This spring, however, one of the fun things we’re noticing is how the trends aren’t necessarily about specific silhouettes or designs but rather color schemes (namely pink, brights, and black-and-white) that can be applied to many different pieces.
And while color schemes sound simple in theory, any fashion editor will tell you that the way you wear them can make or break your outfit. With that in mind, today we’re sharing some of our favorite ways to wear spring’s biggest color trends via pieces from Amazon, your go-to source for all your favorite brands (Amazon Prime fast and free two-day shipping doesn’t hurt either).
Are you pretty in pink, or do you prefer life in black and white? Whatever your ideal color scheme, keep reading to meet the color scheme you'll live in this spring.
Pretty in Pink
Often seen as overtly feminine or even slightly childish in the past, pink has had a resurgence as of late, popping up on runways in a wide range of shades. Perhaps it has to do with the recent uptick in feminist activism, or maybe it’s just a result of fashion’s cyclical nature—either way, we’re tickled that it’s making a comeback. From bomber jackets to patchwork denim to mini bags and beyond, there’s a pink version out there for all of spring’s top trends. Our advice? Go for a head-to-toe monochromatic pink look if you’re feeling bold, or opt for an all-white or all-black look with a vibrant pink handbag, or grab a pair of pink shoes for a fun pop.
Mixing bold and bright colors together is definitely not a new trend, but it’s back with a vengeance and feeling particularly fashion forward. While it once pertained to bright pieces strictly from opposite sides of the color wheel, this season it’s simply about mixing and matching all manner of bold, solid colors. Don’t be scared: It doesn’t have to be a showstopping head-to-toe look. Feel free to mix in denim as an easy way to tone down the brights for everyday wear.
Fashion girls have always been obsessed with wearing black and white, whether that means mixing them together or going for a single-tone look. It’s probably because basic pieces in neutral colors worn in interesting shapes and proportions just scream chic. For spring, we’re loving how designers are playing with proportions and volume on basic black-and-white pieces, like wide-leg trousers and off-the-shoulder tops with large bell sleeves. Finish it off with black-and-white accessories with gold hardware for a put-together and fashion-forward look.
