This Rookie Model Just Landed Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Cover

Haven't heard the name Danielle Herrington before? You better get used to seeing it around. Despite never having been on any magazine cover, the up-and-coming model just landed the coveted Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover.

In fact, she's also made history with her new gig: She's only the third African American woman to land the swimsuit edition cover after Tyra Banks in 1997 and Beyoncé in 2005. "Last year, Danielle was a rookie, and yet already an exemplary model," Sports Illustrated Swimsuit editor MJ Day said. "She's an extra hard worker and a natural brand ambassador. All those things separately don't guarantee a cover, though. Danielle was a shy girl, who went from taking her first photos last year to showing up this year a completely different person. All the good things about her seemed to be magnified." Read on to see the cover shoot.
