Brace yourselves (and your wallets)—Chanel has heard our prayers and is finally entering the world of e-commerce, starting today with the rollout of shoppable sunglasses on its website. Offering the brand’s entire sunglasses collection (an impossible feat for its brick-and-mortar stores), the feature will allow customers to compare and contrast their favorites on a virtual black velvet tray—proof that even online shopping can be luxurious. Although the house has tested the multichannel approach in the past, most recently collaborating with Net-a-Porter to sell a capsule collection of fine jewelry, this marks its first long-term effort. And according to WWD, there will be more where this came from, as the brand hopes to debut more accessories categories very soon.
