Diary of a Shoe Hoarder: The 9 Pairs I Wear on Repeat
Everybody has their "thing.” For some it’s handbags, for others it’s denim, and for a lot of women, it’s jewelry. Maybe I watched too much Sex and the City growing up and caught the Carrie Bradshaw syndrome, but for me it’s shoes. I’ve always loved how an elevated shoe rack instantly decorates a closet.
Aside from home décor purposes, shoes are the literal foundation of your outfit. They can change up a vibe from dressy to casual and be the ultimate outfit maker (or killer). No matter how many times I try to Marie Kondo my closet, my shoe collection seems to grow because, truly, they all bring me joy. So despite my overflowing closet of footwear, these are the nine styles I am actually wearing this season.
Strappy Sandals
This style is without a doubt the shoe of summer. It's a barely there midi heel that (despite the low price tag) is shockingly comfortable. It comes in all different tones and prints. Snag a pair before they're gone. You won't regret it.
Basket Weave Mules
These neutral mules have been my go-to transition piece that I haven't been able to take off since April. They literally go with everything and give just enough lift to elevate an outfit. Plus, they're the perfect summer shoes to wear when you're in between pedicures.
Square-Toe Slides
This season has been all about the square toe, and we predict it to have a very bright future. These pretty low-heeled mules are vintage-inspired with modern geometric details.
Minimalist, Everyday Sandals
A true closet staple, these croc-embossed leather sandals mean business. They are sophisticated and wearable, giving off an elevated, minimalist vibe. I pair them with midi dresses or tailored pants.
Sporty Flatforms
I remember previewing these flatforms months before they were available to purchase, and I couldn't stop thinking about them. They are a fun cross between a fashion piece and an active outdoor sandal.
Slime-Green Sneakers
Fashion girls are obsessing over this color right now. We've seen it all over Instagram on manicures, summer dresses, and kitschy beaded bags. These high-top Vans are perfect for a day spent on your feet.
Chunky Buckle Slides
These Birkenstock-style sandals are a fashion upgrade in pony hair and metallic detailing. They are my go-to farmers market slides and more comfortable than flip-flops.
Patent Pop Heels
Looking for a pair of fun party heels in your shoe rotation? These neon patent sandals are high enough for fancier occasions, and the block heel won't stop you from breaking it down on the dance floor.
Zebra Wedges
To me, leopard print has always been a neutral. But this season, I've been wearing more zebra than ever before. Whenever I wear these wedges, I get loads of compliments.
