The Brand You Loved in Your Early 20s Is Back and Better Than Ever

We remember when every fashion girl’s obsession with Sass & Bide began (way back in the early 2000s) with its denim, embellished party dresses and unique prints. Where else would you go when you needed a last-minute outfit for a special event?

Well, the label is about to blow up again under a new creative director—Therese Rawsthorne. (You may remember her from her eponymous line which closed in 2012.) Since Sass & Bide announced Rawsthorne’s appointment, we’ve been eagerly anticipating the launch of her first collection. In the lead up, we asked the designer what we can expect to see next from the iconic Australian label: "Sass & Bide is such an iconic brand—it’s really about embracing the signatures that made the brand great and reinterpreting them for now. Denim, fabulous party dresses, beautiful tailored jackets, artistic prints, rich embellishments and layering in unexpected ways. The archive is important because it contains the DNA of the brand, but the focus is on creating new ideas which are true to this, rather than literal re-runs of archive pieces."

Rawsthorne’s first collection, titled ‘Amante Amore’ is inspired by French-Moroccan decadence, and '70s rock'n'roll, and feels like a return to the brand's roots—and who better to capture this spirit than Australian actress and model Abbey Lee?

Pierre Toussaint for Sass & Bide

This will add a fun hit of colour and texture to your outfit.

There's a removable lower panel in this coat, so you can turn it into a blazer, too.

We can already imagine wearing this one-shoulder top with leather pants and heels.

If your wardrobe is missing a party skirt, you need this one.
