Today isn't just an average Wednesday—it's the 20th anniversary of the Sex and the City premiere. While plenty of outlets—including Who What Wear, of course—filled your Instagram feed with tributes, we've been anxiously waiting to see how the stars themselves would honor the occasion. Luckily, Sarah Jessica Parker swooped in toward the end of the day with an epic homage.
"Choosing pictures/words: Almost impossible," she captioned her Instagram slideshow. "Where to begin? It's too much. 'Were those some of the best years of your life?' Abso-f&*#-ing-lutely." Parker chose eight perfect photos of Carrie Bradshaw and the gang, including her iconic Dior newspaper dress and a pink David Bowie T-shirt. Scroll down to see SJP's tribute and revisit some of our favorite looks from the show.

KEEP CALM AND CARRIE ON:bouquet: The best Carrie looks are the ones that you can’t picture anyone else wearing, let alone looking good in. Who knew that patterned slingbacks and a flat cap could peacefully coexist a single outfit? We were also shocked to discover that what we had previously mistaken for hot pants is actually a knit romper with a trompe l’oeil effect— because of course it is. This outfit also reinforces our long-held belief that a baguette and a bouquet of flowers are the best accessories for any Manhattanite. THIS IS AN ALAÏA! | RIP Azzedine Alaïa, an extraordinary and irreplaceable couturier who set the bar for body-conscious fashion. His red hourglass blazer was prominently featured in Season 2, but we’ll be the first to admit that Carrie’s bizarre equestrian look doesn’t really capture the breadth of his genius. Check out our Instagram stories for more #crucial Alaïa looks that do. (S2/EP5) #AzzedineAlaïa #BodyCon #Equestrian #90sFashion #RIP
:blond-haired-woman::skin-tone-2:JAILBAIT CARRIE :lollipop:This impossibly chic, Sailor Moon-esque ensemble is a landmark look for Carrie. Slutty schoolgirl outfits shouldn't work on women in their 30s, but Carrie successfully subverts the style without looking desperate OR Tumblr-ish. And the overall silhouette feels incredibly current, as does the inspired pairing of white pumps and nude ankle socks. The only aspect of this outfit that doesn't feel of-the-moment is the passé Gucci bag. But if it was replaced with 2017 Gucci she would look like street style bait so ultimately the bag serves a higher purpose. We’re also impressed that she accessorized this outfit with pearls AND a pom-pom hair tie, yet somehow manages to not look completely fucking crazy. If there was ever a case to be made for Carrie’s fashion genius, this look is it. (S4/EP11) #CarrieBradshaw #SluttySchoolgirl #PlaidMoment #IconicHair #SailorMoon #JailbaitChic #GOAT
