INF / Network: Meet Sara Donaldson

Meet our INF / Network, a highly curated roster of some of Australia’s most respected voices in fashion, beauty and lifestyle. We will work closely with these women to bring you a fresh perspective, and offer them an opportunity to create content outside of their traditional categories. Perhaps you have always loved Sara Donaldson’s style, but you're keen to know more about her beauty routine? Or maybe you love Kelly Muller’s parenting advice, but want to know more about her fashion tips? We’re opening the door to give these inspirational women an opportunity to share more with you.

It’s time to meet… Sara Donaldson of Harper and Harley, and The UNDONE.

Harper & Harley

I'm a co-founder, co-director and buyer for The UNDONE. Everything that is sold online as been handpicked by myself. The UNDONE is still in its first year of trading and our team can be counted on just one hand. We do absolutely everything ourselves and thrive off our unique content, tight product edit, and high standard of customer service.

Striking the balance between chic and comfortable is the aim for me to be able to get things done but feel like I look well put together. Black is the go-to colour (surprise, surprise) and my favourite options would be a cropped black pant, well fitted blazer, and a nice pair of flats. My hair will usually be pulled back into a low bun, makeup is low key but luminous and a neat and tidy manicure also helps!

Reading articles on Business of Fashion and WWD can really help get my brain into gear, as well as having a scroll through Pinterest and Instagram. It depends on the project I am working on to where I’ll go to to get inspired.

I go to the dog park each morning with my fiancé and two black Labradors, Bundy and Ben. I really like starting my day this way as it gets us outside in the fresh air before heading into the office.

In the evenings we’re either out to dinner or cooking at home. I’ve become much better with leaving work at the office and not taking it home with me. I would rather stay late at work than bring work back into my home.

Actions speak louder than words for me. Growing up I’ve watched my dad and grandfather work together at our family owned and run business, which has been operating for over 40 years. They’ve taught me that success doesn’t happen over night, you really have to work for it and persistence is key. Some years are good, and others aren’t but you need to adapt and change to see it through.

Marie Kondo’s book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up ($20). My life has seriously changed. Everything is now folded like I have OCD, but I love it.

Behind a computer, behind a camera, or in front of a camera. Weekends are best spent doing anything but!

Everything. Life is exciting.

A new order comes through at The UNDONE. We are still in the phase where every little purchase is noted and appreciated. I'm not sure if that excitement will ever wear off, and I don’t want it to.

I’m corrected on my spelling or grammar on an Instagram post. Yep, I’m not perfect guys, chill!
